I don’t know why you think that’s all propaganda, i personally like hybrid work a lot more as well. I like my office, i like being able to go for a coffee with my colleagues and so on. I do like working from home as well - but i’m totally okay with being 1-2 days in the office. However, we do have people working 90% from home - they have to come in to the office though for various things they have to do. Printing large format plans, etc, etc. You can’t just assume 100% home full time works for everyone and shift the goalpost.
I think it should be a choice not 100% at all. I’m personally upset because I was told it was ok to be fully remote so I adjusted my life then once it wasn’t convenient for my company anymore they changed the rules on me and everyone else and gaslighted us all about the real reason.

My mom lost a brother to measles in the 50s. She is hard core pro-vacination, and will to this day proudly show off the scar from getting one of the first polio vaccines.
I’m a bit younger than you but I remember measles was something recent when I was a kid, but it also wasn’t something that any of my contemporaries caught. I’m around your age and didn’t have measles but did have mumps (the other M in the MMR shot) and everyone I knew had chicken pox. I don’t know how the immunizations worked back then (what the schedule was) we did get the shots. Had mumps as a preschooler, chicken pox around 7. Uncomplicated both times, my brothers were younger when the chicken pox came through and had it worse.
I’m 37 and was born immunocompromised so didn’t get any vaccines when I was younger. I went on to get measles and mumps. Measles almost killed me. Honestly, fuck antivaxxers, they can all go get fucked.

ha, the old 'youll be sorry, you just wait!' . yeah i heard this one a bit from several officers, but in my anecdotal experience most actually didnt care about their sidearm a that much. its a reality that most officers never use the gun in the line of duty, which adds to my point.

youre not wrong in that there are parts of the united states that are mini war zones, and disarming the police wouldnt make sense. but those are outliers. its a huuge country and youre talkin <1% of officers. lets make exemptions where needed.
there is no "united states police", and so we have 50 tiny countries each with their own versions (city,county,state) of different kinds of police forces, and barely any of it is coordinated or standardized.

How often is it explicitly needed to be actively carrying a loaded firearm to a inherently non violent situation before having assessed it? I honestly have no idea. That’s the gist of what they’re taught, yeah. It shouldn’t take much digging to find “training” videos that are essentially: cop walks up to man in parking lot, man pulls a knife and lunges at cop instantly. The moral? Everyone is ready to kill you.
How often do you need your seatbelt? Should you still wear it anyway? And there are situations when wearing a seatbelt can kill you where you would survive without it.
The idea is the same with cops. A properly trained cop carying a weapon all the time would be safer overall by being able to react to violent situations while not posing a threat in non-violent ones. The issue is how incredibly undertrained most US cops are.
And yes, if they are not sufficiently trained, they should not carry a gun period. Not in their car, not anywhere.

The problem is they attend conferences that brainwash them into thinking that every person they interact with is seconds away from pulling a machine gun out of their pocket and mowing them all down. To make things worse, their word is also treated as gospel by a large portion of the population so generic terms like “I feared for my safety” (along with qualified immunity) is all they need to avoid any sort of accountability.

A lot of people just want to be mad. This thread is full of people saying he should just be released, without realizing that if we release him because we happen to like the outcome, what’s that saying for the next person who wants to break the same law.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m as happy as everyone else that he did release the documents, but he broke the law to do it and knew the consequences when he did so. He knew this was a possibility.
He is banking on the publicity that making the additional defamatory statements will give him with his voting base. He is hoping that his re-election will at the very least stall all the proceedings against him, and he may even be able to quash some of them after re-election.

Unfortunately the more I read from the right the more disturbing it is. I find they want blood and punishment for all the things they find wrong and they don’t want to have to deal with anything complicated again.
The most convenient lies will do and there is no use for courts as they are not extreme enough. Faces must be eaten. Sadly it will be some of theirs too.
