Top EU Court Says There’s No Right To Online Anonymity, Because Copyright Is More Important (www.techdirt.com)

The key problem is that copyright infringement by a private individual is regarded by the court as something so serious that it negates the right to privacy. It’s a sign of the twisted values that copyright has succeeded on imposing on many legal systems. It equates the mere copying of a digital file with serious crimes that...

AngryCommieKender ,

Every single person in the EU needs to sue on these grounds.

Also fuck this corporatist statist bullshit. Why the fuck do people keep voting in authoritarians?

AngryCommieKender ,

I’m now curious as to what the lyrics mean… Are they singing about Columbus or did they just choose a really strange video theme?

AngryCommieKender ,

Thanks!

AngryCommieKender ,

We still romanticize PanAm.

Except for their 103rd flight.

AngryCommieKender ,

They’re talking about the 40s through till 1978, when we deregulated them

AngryCommieKender ,

California checking in. We aren’t on fire any more, mostly, we are having flooding issues. No more water please. Or at least stagger the deliveries out over the entire year, not just late Jan - May.

Is everything the worst?

I’m 43, almost 44, years old and went through a bought of alcoholism during the early part of the pandemic. I went through treatment and have been fine since. However, I can’t help but feel that all the news in the last few months is just the worst. Between the AI bullshit, the wars, the effects of capitalism, and the...

Hello fellow 1980 baby. Have you ever seen a chicken hatch? It’s a pretty destructive process. The chick is immediately exposed to a myriad of microorganisms, a sharp shell, embryonic fluid, and plenty of other potential hazards that it can easily kill itself on in the first 20 minutes of its life. However, if it can manage to make it through the hazards you end up with a cute fluffy yellow chick, for another day. They turn brown and dull way too quick for me, at least when I was 10. My point here is that humanity is also going through a transitory period currently. We have already technically reached post scarcity levels, and the proletariat is noticing that. There is bound to be a fair bit of bloodshed over the next couple decades as we strip the power from the ultra wealthy sociopaths that currently run the ship, but the upside is that fucktons of really smart people understand that the roadmap to world peace includes universal education for all, and the elimination of extremes of poverty and wealth.

If you used a time machine to go far enough back in history, I bet you could find a civilization or two that those would be religious symbols.

AngryCommieKender ,

Because of how the system works, almost no one votes for anyone. They vote against their opponents.

AngryCommieKender ,

Their addresses are publicly available, and I’ll bet anything that most of them are 2nd amendment enthusiasts. Just saying…

And then there’s whatever they do in India, where a comma indicates the thousands place, but then they put commas every two numbers…

All of them. They let GRRM guest write a few episodes

Studies have shown its 100% of the people are poorer than they would have been if they paid thriving wages. It’s just that the 90% now have needless suffering, while the 1% can revel in their cruelty.

Apparently sugar free Haribo gummy bears work. Just eat 5 or so every hour. You’ll get the intended results before you hit 20

Who’s Rebecca?

AngryCommieKender ,

We really need to find you a good cleric. Not sure you could afford a Heal though.

AngryCommieKender ,

I’d actually give the Catholic Church a few points in the “Good” column if they made Carlin a saint. He could be the patron saint of jesters and fools.

AngryCommieKender ,

Or your local friendly 3D Printer mad scientist. Provided they have a metal and a plastic printer.

Or, God forbid, a Chrysler PT Cruiser. I liked the look, shame their drivetrain is universally shit.

May flies. Those fuckers only live 6 days, I cannot imagine that evolution would select for memory retention with that short of a life span.

Per your own comments others comments, and the damn article, Trump didn’t do this. Trump took the easy way out and signed an EO. An EO that could be overturned or paused at any time. Biden did the hard work and got a law passed. Laws can’t just be overturned, in fact Jefferson was in favor of a 19 year sunset term on every law that wasn’t part of The Constitution, because laws are so hard to repeal he called it the tyranny of dead generations.

Maybe try to live up to your username, and pay attention when multiple people spell out for you your erroneous feelings with the actual facts?

AngryCommieKender ,

The Biden administration paused all the EOs that Trump signed, not just this one, though it may have been limited to the last year in office. They did so because Trump signed so many EOs in the last few months, that there is absolutely no way that he read them, and someone needed to do so. This one just happened to get caught up in that, and the Biden administration decided to make it so that this one would be permanent. I’m unsure how much Biden himself would have been involved in such decisions.

Perhaps the 1500 number is talking about DNA complexity? I’m no virologist, but as I understand it most “normal” viruses have extremely short DNA strands. Perhaps this one is so big because it’s more complex DNA

Lol, true. Can’t believe that video was posted to YouTube 17 years ago

You missed the biggest flaw in the “money creation = inflation” argument. That would be Japan. They’ve been printing money full tilt for the last couple decades, and are just barely staving off deflation

AngryCommieKender ,

I’ll do it for half of that, and I’m pretty sure I have the same plan as the more expensive guy.

Is there any significance to people using emojis that match their skin tone?

I’m asking because as a light-skinned male, I always use the standard Simpsons yellow. I don’t really see other light-skinned people using an emoji that matches their skin tone, but often do see people of color use them. Maybe white people don’t naturally realize a need to be explicit with emoji skin-tone or perhaps it’s...

AngryCommieKender ,

But when I do use them, I choose the yellow ones.

I wonder how many people confuse him for the comedian.

AngryCommieKender ,

That one was programmed by Vir Cotto, and Lennier

AngryCommieKender ,

He’s pretty good. Kinda like a left leaning Dennis Leary

AngryCommieKender ,

He’s an asshole

He’s a comedian from the '90s and early '00s

AngryCommieKender ,

Nah, look him up. He is actually funny, but a bit right wing these days. He was closer to mainstream in the '90s

Oh, and watch the video. It is funny.

AngryCommieKender ,

Oh definitely look up Christopher Titus on YouTube he put all his standup specials on there for free.

AngryCommieKender ,

You need an escape backslash character () before the #3 so it doesn’t show as a #1.

AngryCommieKender ,

They already are, at least for the smaller ones. You can go to your citie’s parks and recreation department to get some. All those solar panels that power various signs and lights have been collected and replaced for years. I picked up a few years ago in Lexington, KY, for next to nothing, and they worked just fine for the lights that I wanted to power, despite only outputting less than 50% of their original power.

Not sure where you would find the full size ones like these pictured.

AngryCommieKender ,

In California they got it. Fast food is $20 an hour to start.

AngryCommieKender ,

California as well. Tipped workers make the service industry minimum wage, which is actually higher than the state or city minimum wages, so they make $20 an hour plus tips. Which means that they are barely scraping by.

As a non-participating* Baha’i, I still agree.

I can understand the potential ban against the hijab in governmental, scholarly, and other public places, but only because of how the Shia, and to a lesser extent the Sufi, attempt to enforce those laws, and the absolute fact that religion and politics have no place in the same arena.

Since it is Sunni that are creating and enforcing progressive laws, who am I to disagree? I can only mourn the needless violence and suffering that may occur amongst my cousins.

  • I was kind of “raised” Baha’i, except not exactly. I do not exercise any of my rights such as voting because I do not interact with other Baha’is. I am still technically a Baha’i, but I have been given the choice of the hardest route, of isolation and teaching by example.

Dude Tencent owns CCP now… Oh not that CCP…

AngryCommieKender ,

But give them one of the more obscure versions so they don’t immediately realize what it is.

AngryCommieKender ,

Hadn’t seen that one before. That’s a good one, lol
