I’m confused

Surely if you can make something smaller, you could make it fit inside anything bigger than it?

Or do I not have the assumptions down?

Do the lines count as “borders”?

So Like Q,R,O,A etc. have “holes” but Z, X, I, L etc are just lines with no enclosure

That would make sense

I thought maybe the rules were if you spray paint a huge L on the wall you could draw a little L on it with chalk when it dries

Sorry , just thinking out loud

Mirodir ,

Assuming we shrink all spacial dimensions equally: With Z, the diagonal will also shrink so that the two horizontal lines would be closer together and then you could not fit them into the original horizontal lines anymore. Only once you shrink the Z far enough that it would fit within the line-width could you fit it into itself again. X I and L all work at any arbitrary amount of shrinking though.

derpgon ,

T, V, Y can be shrunk by any amount and still fit aswell! Possibly even K depending on the font.

Gladaed ,

Each Geometrie in which a Single point can see each other point works. Every other geometry has at least 1 point which violates this.

MHanak ,

Basically any convex shape has a big/small size configuration in which one doesn’t fit in another

Or in other words: if you can’t draw a line between the center and the edge that intersects with another edge, the shape is guaranteed to fit a smaller version of itself

Johanno ,

But if I shrink it enough it won’t matter.

aggelalex ,

Only if the letters have thickness. If they are just 2 dimensional lines (which is the minimal information to construct a letter), you’ll have to shrink it to infinity into a single point.

yetAnotherUser ,

I, K, L, T, V, X, Y are all the one’s I think (with I and K depending on how you write them).

He (or she) could actually be attractive with some simple changes.

  • Ditch the nerdy glasses, not working for their face. Contacts are cheap enough and switching back and forth with glasses changes your look, very cute.
  • Get a decent hair cut that suits them. Find a stylist people like and go to them. Gay dude at Walmart used to cut me, damn I looked good. If you’re a man, find a gay stylist, best ever. (He moved. Stylists are like gypsies, gotta get their personal card and follow 'em around.)
  • Dress nicely. And dressing nice costs almost zero money. Stunning what you can find at the thrift once you land on a style that’s attractive on you. I make plenty, but I still mostly dress out of thrift stores. Got a nice collection of watches for example. Got a sack of cool ones for $1 at a roadside thrift. A couple of $.75 batteries and some polish, nice.

Probably lots of others easy/cheap things. My dentist made mouth molds for tooth whitener. $80 for molds that last forever, buy the cheap refills on Amazon. Done. And what a dramatic difference two treatments makes.

The nose is a little much, but work with it. I started parting my bowl-cut hair in 8th grade. Read that dudes with a big snoz shouldn’t do that, part on the side. Stuff like that.

They’re not fat, so there’s not that to overcome. Nice chin and hands, smile and mouth. Take his/her ass outside and move around. A little color and muscle tone is easy with quick results.

You look good (to yourself), you feel good, confidence comes out. Had a roommate in college put on a shirt and tie, for an algebra test. The hell? “I look good, I feel good, I do better on the test.” That stuck with me.

tl;dr: Frustrating hearing people call themselves ugly. I’ve rarely seen a truly ugly person. Almost everyone can be at least modestly attractive, easily and cheaply.

0ops ,

Hard to be sure with the image quality, but it looks like he’s got decent skin too. You’re right though, it’s really mostly how you wear yourself. Like jazz, there aren’t really wrong notes, you just have to accentuate them right.

I consider myself a flexitarian, I adopt puppies, give them a good life till they’re about 2 years old, then humanely slaughter them and eat them. The stuff I don’t eat I backfeed to the next round of puppies.

I am so with this post, what I do is so much more sustainable and humane than anything that happens on a farm. Extremists harrassing me should fund lab grown meat instead. Really this is more ethical than eating beans because of crop deaths.

Nevoic ,

Your mistake here was saying “puppies” too early. You have to lead with a couple paragraphs of how you’re a flexitarian who has a farm and humanely raised animals like pets and then slaughters and feed them to your family.

Then list off the animals you exploit, cows, pigs, dogs, chickens, cats and ducks. Then their brain gets hit with the dissonance of “wait why did I support this and then stop the second they said ‘dog’?” That jarring experience can work for the intellectually honest type.

Saying it too early means they can categorize your post as satire easily and not engage with it at all mentally.

naevaTheRat ,
@naevaTheRat@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Eh, mostly I’m just pointing out how stupid this is to anyone with half a brain in their head.

We have animal rights legislation and morals for reasons, and nobody who like protests whaling gets criticised for not growing fake whale meat. You might disagree on where the line should be but it’s just outing yourself as someone with underdeveloped theory of mind if you don’t understand why people might feel strongly about it being further down the tree of life.

Zoot ,
@Zoot@reddthat.com avatar

Don’t farmers specifically not form bonds with the animals they intend to slaughter? Isn’t it socially acceptable to eat dogs and cats in some countries? Personally, raising your own meat and slaughtering it for consumption does indeed sound like the best way to go about it.

It’s a bad idea in general to eat predators because the higher up the food chain you go the higher the chance you’ll contract an illness. Humans are not alone at all among predators to practically only go after grazers, and not other predators. We leave the rest to carrion eaters who specialise to deal with all kinds of nasty stuff.

People thinking that this is some kind of grand ethical-philosophical argument or conundrum just shows how alienated they are from the ways of nature.

Nevoic ,

It goes to show how much we purposefully disregard the ways of nature, actually.

Moral decisions are not made on the grounds of “is this natural”? A lot of things are moral and unnatural, and a lot of things are immoral and natural. It should be incredibly easy for you to think of examples, but if you’re really struggling I can give some.

They’re orthogonal discussions.
