The best times to view the event will depend on your location, but the lunar eclipse will peak at 10:44 p.m. ET, according to NASA. All of North and South America will have a chance to see the partial lunar eclipse and harvest supermoon depending on the weather. Europe and Africa will also have an opportunity to see the eclipse.

This lunar eclipse will be a partial one, with only the upper portion of the moon being plunged into the darkest part of the Earth’s shadow known as the umbra, Monsue said.

I don’t really use those words unless I’m in a state my brain cannot better articulate my thoughts and feelings. They are a crude tool.

Reminds me of:

quoteinvestigator.com/2012/08/…/substitute-damn/

…there is one thing I wish you would do when you sit down to write news stories, and that is: Never use the word, “very.” It is the weakest word in the English language; doesn’t mean anything. If you feel the urge of “very” coming on, just write the word, “damn,” in the place of “very.” The editor will strike out the word, “damn,” and you will have a good sentence.

Not perfect, but better.

That’s what I use it for. I really want to find an alternative provider (Voice and YouTube are the last Google products I use), but haven’t settled on anything yet.

I have three of these around the house for our four cats, so one is always close by wherever I’m sitting. I got whichever brand the vet was using in our visits. Way fewer cuts and snags now.

I just take the sharp tip off whenever I notice one when they’re already on my lap. Occasionally, they don’t like the angle I’m going from, but mostly they don’t even care. Often they seem to interpret it as grooming and they like that. They do like the Furminator more though!

Why would someone desire a pension instead of a 401k?

It seems to me that the employer will fund it either way. Maybe I’m misremembering stories of pensions being mismanaged and lost. I think the most important thing is that the employer actually does something to fund a retirement, in my way of thinking the 401k approach puts me in control of the money so I don’t rely on...

Trump Says He's Done Debating: 'THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!' (www.mediaite.com)

When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, “I WANT A REMATCH.” Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate. She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with...

Some people fell better when they find fault in others. So blame them for being too stupid to see your worth and be thankful you don’t have to work somewhere with people like that. It’s their loss. You’re waiting a company worthy of your talents finds you.

Zachariah ,
@Zachariah@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, during the interview, realistically you’re looking to see if it’s a good fit.

But after the fact, feel free to cheer yourself up by blaming their incompetence.

Seriously, what the f*** is keeping Donald Trump in this presidential race?

Kamala Harris running a damn near flawless campaign, with just a month 1/2 of campaigning. She’s been holding rallies nonstop with Tim Walz & not making her talking points about her race or gender like Hillary. She’s offering expanded healthcare, reinvestments back into public housing, wants to take on corporate greed,...

Yes! Eggcorns is by far the superior term for “alteration of a word or phrase through the mishearing or reinterpretation of one or more of its elements, creating a new phrase having a different meaning from the original but which still makes sense and is plausible when used in the same context.”

Zachariah ,
@Zachariah@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, I’m just partial to eggcorn (term and concept).

Bad weird = you get called weird, and you respond defensively and have to prove how normal you are to everyone

What Ticketmaster Doesn't Want You To Know: Concerts Were Cheap For Decades (youtu.be)

Ticketmaster and Live Nation have destroyed the concert experience. But it didn’t use to be this way. Today, Oasis and Taylor Swift tickets might go for thousands of dollars, but back in 1955, you could see Elvis Presley in concert for less than the modern-day equivalent of $20.
