My main reason is I’m an American, China (probably) can’t do shit to me. But here I’m subject to so much shit America can do legally and illegally, with zero repercussions.
If China fucked me in particular over, odds are it would at least spark debate here. If America spied on my messages and stopped me from protesting something, that’s just a Tuesday afternoon here.
The only reason why Congress wants to ban it, is due to pressure from news agencies and the government, because TikTok can’t be controlled by the CIA. You can’t manufacture consent of the people if the content comes from someone else you don’t control.
This is a myth btw. The elephant graveyards turned out to be former wells where elephants spent alot of time and – according to probability – many died there
this was a struggle but ran it through a word processor, its a great quote and when most of the world have failed to stand by, many have also forgotten or never knew. sadly guns now have a political agenda strapped to them and i wish they didn’t
::: spoiler spoiler
“Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary”
I have hope for Germany. The past few weeks we had enormous protests(over 3m people protested in total) and multiple petitions against fascists and the AfD(the party that literally want to deportate everyone who isn’t “German”(this means even if you have a German passport, but came from another country youre going to get deportated)) had blown up. Their youth organisation is now officially a right wing extremists organisation. I still have hope, that we may save our country before it’s to late.
I suggest target practice, that way you won’t get crushed by boots…and you can resist any fascist in your area, and encourage others in your immediate area to do the same.
Start a club, and then you can hold parties, where you show each other new knowledge, and help others to protect themselves…and fight against all the fascist hordes!
But odds are it won’t be the military. At least, not at first. It will most likely start with all those right-wing punisher-worshipping nutters who want an excuse to shoot ‘the liburlz’, with local cops either helping out or staying out of the way, and the government conveniently ignoring everything. Or at least, that’s how it’s tended to go in the past.
John Brown gun club or Socialist Rifle Association are out there… also there are plenty of paramilitary and social fascist groups to protect yourself against. Proud boys, border nutjobs, don’t listen to naysayers about learning to defend yourself. It’s not just military with tanks and planes. It’s your back the blue neighbor you have to worry about…
Baby boomers (named after the post war baby boom that created them) started it by calling the generation following them “generation X”. Then millennials were gen Y for a while before the millennial rebrand after the turn of the millennium for some reason. Gen Z got the nickname zoomer pretty much because it rhymes with boomer. Then we ran out of letters because the boomers decided to start at the wrong end of the alphabet, so we’re doing the Greek alphabet now. Thus gen alpha, who haven’t been around long enough to develop an identity resulting in a catchier nickname.
Given generations seem to be about 15 years or so, the line for gen beta kids is just around the corner I guess
Exactly, it takes time to get a non-sequential name. I haven’t heard Gen Y in probably a decade. I still hear Genzie but I suspect it’s partly waiting for the Zoomer adoption, partly due to being the easiest to say. Jennay is smooth but not too clear as a standalone word, needing context like “PIN number”
Lol what, did you want to be Gen Z or something? Technically you’re on the borderline, and people on the borderlines of generations are kind of a mix of the two gens. So I guess you’d be a … Zalpha? Alphaz? Idk
Unless my 5th grade kid had a kid, no. You're just getting old. Alpha's been with us for a while now.
The marker is supposedly anyone born entirely within the 21st century and living in a world that's connected to the internet 24/7 since birth. The "iPad kids".
I tend to agree with the person you’re responding to in that actual generations tend to be marked by massive paradigm shifts more than chunks of years.
Like fall of the Berlin wall through 9-11 is a generation.
9-11 through COVID is a generation.
COVID until the water wars is a generation.
It’s marked by things that the basically the whole world is affected by, and we all experience it together in some way.
Agreed. There’s isn’t enough of a difference between a number of the recent gens. I feel like the millennials were the last big one that made sense to me.
There’s gonna be a big shift in the way that we consume media that there’s gonna be a difference between generations that grew up before that big shift and the generation that grew up after that big shift.
More the latter than the former. GenZ commonly includes 2005ish, and people born in the early 2000s got to experience the proliferation of the internet during their childhood
No one at the grocery store is actually the rich people we’re angry about. This just seems like it’s bullying older women who are trying in their appearance. In fact it sounds kinda… mean.
That study states that brain damage can cause more conservative views, but the reverse isn’t true. Not everyone with conservative views has brain damage.
What are you saying, you want the government to just bring you clean water? Like, without sewage? Like through some sort of taxpayer funded infrastructure? Fucking commie.
