I can't bind because of chronic pain, and trans tape isn't holding my tits because it's heavy, I can't do surgery either because it takes more than morphine for me to not suffer, what should I do? I'm lost.
I'm sure you've heard it before, but you asked. Have you tried CBD / medical marijuana? I recently started THC free CBD for my #fibro and was quite surprised by the effects.
I can't take opioids (too strong reaction) or NSAIDs (CKD) so I've been sruggling to control #fibromyalgia . I'm also #ActuallyAutistic . I'm a trans woman, so binding isn't a need for me. I hope you get some answers.
@janetlogan@spoonies@actuallyautistic thank you! the reason I haven't tried CBD is due to prices being too high for exporting, it's not legal in my country yet... so I take codeine instead.
When I was younger, I might decide to take an earlier bus stop and walk some extra instead of having to talk with someone I know and was riding the same bus. It's not that they were bad people, I just didn't know how to talk with them. I kicked myself for this: why can't I be a normal person?
Now that I've understood I'm autistic, I can cut myself some slack. It's perfectly ok to walk extra to avoid talking with someone. It makes it easier for my mental health.
My brain is currently a mess (whomst among us is not floundering while the world burns), and you know what that means: COMFORT REREADS. I'm revisiting THE SHADES OF LONDON series by V.E. Schwab before I read THE FRAGILE THREADS OF POWER.
Read A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC if you love traveling between parallel worlds, interesting magic systems, collecting trinkets, pickpockets, plagues, night markets, masquerades, the river Thames, dive bars, fancy coats, too many knives, lucky kisses, queer dynamics & secrets.
D-does that mean the feds know about my fedi loli cunny plapping posts? And my armpit liccing interest? And my facesitting femdom cravings? And my sister incest ponderings where I’m the big bro? And my shota age gap fantasies where I’m the lil shota? :catstand:
It still amazes me how commonly scientific papers posit [paraphrase] "Advanced maternal age increases risk of gestational development of autism" when, RIGHT THERE for the grasping is the possibility that autistic ladies who get the chance to actually think about it before getting pregnant... decide to hold off for a bit.
And THEN have autistic babes with their gene parts.
@anomalon Since I’m sure we personally know so many counterexamples, I always keep a shredder or delete button handy for such “scientific” “studies.” 🤣
My mom was 19 and our son’s egg donor and surrogate were 22 and 30. So yeah I’m sure advanced age had something to do with being #neurodifferen! Heh
As an #autistic user of your website, I'm working hard enough just to cope with reading your text. Please don't also make me cope with stuff that moves or slides or fades too. Just present me with a static, stable thing to parse in my own time. And don't have things that move or slide (eg. fancy navbars) when I move my pointer (which I may be doing as a reading aid).
And here on Mastodon I've had to mute so many people because they use animated gifs in their user name.
Unfortunately, @trunksapp - which is the best Mastodon client I've found so far for my needs - doesn't stop these from moving, flashing, flickering or whatever the hell else the user thought would be amusing.
I am looking for new productivity tool and found Leantime. It looked interesting, but I found some conflicting information about what features the selfhosted version contains. Does it contain all features or only core features? How is it as productivity tool and would you recommend some alternative?
I currently use Trillium Notes and Super Productivity for planning projects and time tracking.
Kanban, Gantt charts, milestones, idea collections, file uploading, retrospectives, time tracking, documentation, etc… all supported with the selfhosted version.
These are the “premium” features:
Custom fields
Pomodoro timer
Whiteboard
Program plans (I really don’t understand what is different about this than goals + milestones + documentation + tasks)
Strategies (pretty much just collecting and categorizing goals it seems)
I hope they don’t remove features and make people pay for them. It has plenty of features to make it useful now, but if they start removing them, then I think i will have to find another solution.
@rb3n@philosophy The author of that paper seems to have fundamentally misunderstood the concept of a philosophy thought experiment.
The practicalities of how the trolley situation might arise or who the agents involved are is immaterial. It is designed to elucidate the principles of different ethical approaches.
It challenges the consequentialist to consider the costs of acting on behalf of "the greater good"; likewise it asks the deontologist to consider whether ethics can be axiomatic.
@rb3n@philosophy Daniel Dennet famous called thought experiments "intuition pumps": Scenarios taken at face value that help us get to the heart of a problem without having an emotive reaction cloud our understanding.
When I was an undergrad studying greek philosophy I wondered why my lecturer used the example of cake when discussing akkrasia (temptation) instead of sex or alcohol. However reflecting on it cake is ideal for expressing the concept without eliciting an emotional reaction.
@clmorgan Maybe #IndieWeb & #POSSE & the new abilities to consolidate comments may bring discussion together again?
I have been pondering the fragmentation of comments here on Mastodon (different readers see different parts of a discussion), & more importantly their impermanence (we can go to "original page" to see all, but replies may be purged). Having a copy of record on a site under personal control might be good. Fellow-historians, any thoughts or models?
A couple of things I don't see mentioned in other replies: first, when discussing autistic stuff, you're free to @ the @actuallyautistic group, since you're autistic. Following that group will bring you instantly into contact with lots of other #ActuallyAutistic people.
