Some #disability advocates I’ve been in contact with in the past have discriminated again me because am disabled (& have functional limitations).
What we’re they expecting? That’s why I need their help!
We don’t have enough people in the social welfare system and some that we do have are extremely dodgy (some are fantastic but they have years long waiting lists or charge unaffordable fees). Where does that leave people that need help? Where I am, if not worse.

Just a reminder that organized religions are full of such good people that they successfully lobbied to get themselves exempted from the Americans with Disabilities Act. So as hard as it is getting secular ableist workplaces to obey the law, religions got themselves an exemption.

A mistake many people make is thinking that ADA can only be met through offices of rationing & policing. No. That is how the ableists running UC choose to deny accessibility as the default and make ppl have to beg & eventually sue for accessibility.
Pushing for more funding for these offices is still granting their premise that doing things this way is being accessible to the public that funds UC. It isn't. #Ableism#Disability#UCAccessNow@academicchatter
Hey, y'all! Need to get some food in the house, asap. I'm out. I need at least $100, to start, of this goal to make delivery worth it(I don't drive). Which turns out to be more like $80 in food after fees.
There is consultation questionnaire about whether assessment for PIP should be based more on a diagnosed condition or on its functional impact; about the need for assessment and review for awarding PIP, and how to assess fluctuating conditions.
Hey everyone. At $150/$250 to finish out my week's rent, to keep me safe. 2 days late. Please use PP/V for urgent access to funds, avoid late fees, houselessness and generally more misery. #mutualaid#disability#Blackmastodon@disability@mutualaid#Writing fam please amplify?
Are there places in the Fediverse where folks who are longtime disabled (i.e. having done some of the work of dismantling their internalized ableism) who are into pan-disability activism are hanging out exchanging ideas and tactics?
Most of what I see is discussion within silos of one's own disability group (ME, blindness, autism, etc.) and or COVID discussion [all of which is great, but I'm looking for more pan-disability stuff to supplement]
Can people PLEASE help me contact #churches/ #priests/places of worship/ community groups & ask if they can help me find somewhere to live? If one can’t then they are affiliated with others that might and can ask people in their congregation. Put a plea on their message board irl or Facebook/ whatever online presence they have.
I am living with abuse /neglect and can’t do this anymore.
