Yikes. Just hit em with the ol’ “<3” for privacy. Does not inspire confidence.

Tried it the last time I saw it it posted. Be warned, this takes a huge amount of battery life to run in the back ground. So much so I had to stop playing.

@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

They also said that Cyberpunk would come out when it was ready soooooo…

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I did ride hard for it but I switched to something similar but without the social aspect(openreads) as it was getting too much for me to manage another social platform.

Has anyone tried Leantime?

I am looking for new productivity tool and found Leantime. It looked interesting, but I found some conflicting information about what features the selfhosted version contains. Does it contain all features or only core features?How is it as productivity tool and would you recommend some alternative?

I currently use Trillium Notes and Super Productivity for planning projects and time tracking.

Saw this and tried the game. It is fine but what is not fine is the battery drain. 25-30% per charge is way too high to justify playing this game, sadly.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Glad it has released. Gave it a shot and realized why I put it down in the first place. It’s a slog to play. 90% of the time I am just waiting around for research to complete.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah your “nuggets” do research which is how you progress basically. Research though is just straight up time gated with no way to increase the rate. Most research items take 5-13 minutes. At most you can cut that down by half by increasing game speed by 2x. I have played the whole game up until this point on this speed and it still feels like I need a 3x or even a 4x.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I mean I get it - research takes time, but at least dress up a little with like “science points” or something rather than just a straight up time limit.

Rather the single player be feature complete and bug free. I feel like we have enough multiplayer games going around.

RaspberryPi becoming unresponsive at random intervals

Issue Description: I have been having this issue with my raspberry pi running dietPi where it seems to lock up and I cannot SSH / access any of the services on it. The interesting part is that the interface seems to be up and I can still ping it on the local network but shows no video output. usually I get about 3-6 days before...

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

That is a good idea! Do you have any recommendations for remote logging?

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I am running it from an SD card. Did setting up the watchdog ultimately work for you? I did come across a watchdog as a possible workaround.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Id be willing to try this. How do you have it connected? Just using an external USB attached one?

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

That’s the weird part is that I don’t have any USB devices attached. I have Ethernet, power cable, and the fan on the case has pins going to some headers.

The case did come with another power supply so maybe I’ll try that and see if anything changes.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah it seems a lot of people are saying the SD card is the issue which wouldn’t surprise me. I do have some spare space on my proxmox server but it would just be a huge pain in the dick to move everything… But it’s looking like I may need to sadly.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah seems like a weird choice to have a default storage type that is known in the community to be unreliable.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I mean it is an MMO, aren’t those live service by design?

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

This looks incredible! I fell in love with a similar mod for MB: Warband, glad to hear it is coming to Bannerlord.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I think it would be hard to argue that having more accessibility options would be bad.

They need all the wins they can get at this point.

Jellyfin Volume Normalization

I’ve poked around online and it seems like Jellyfin had (music) volume normalization added to it sometime recently. However, I’m struggling to verify that it’s enabled/working. Is it something I have to enable or is it on by default? If it’s on shouldn’t I be able to see something like a LUFS or ReplyGain value in each...

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I can’t wait for normalization to be built in. I have had to dump my music into mp3gain prior to importing it so this would save a lot of time.

As well, means I will be more open to other,higher quality, formats.

@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

If you have any torrent service running maybe try stopping that temporarily and see if that helps. I was having a similar issue with stuttering and found another person mentioning qbittorrent as the culprit.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Oh man I am SO excited. I have been intrigued since it was first revealed and this blew it out of the water.

The map looks a lot like an FTL style so I wonder how the story will work?

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

You could use something like DietPi OS which has an installer for all the *arr services built in.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Huh I have been meaning to try working with docker so this seems like a good starting point! Thanks for sharing.

What is the best linux alternative to OneNote?

I’ve no problem with using LibreOffice for most of my document needs, but i haven’t found a good substitute for microsoft’s OneNote yet. I mainly use it to plan my RPG games and it helps a lot. What alternatives are there for organizing notes on linux, with similar features to those that OneNote provides?

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Setup Trilium and use the Firefox extension to save screenshots or the whole page to it automatically which I love.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I spent 100$ on a cheap e-waste bound Dell. All proprietary parts so the power supply didn’t have any extra power cables I could see for another drive.

With that being said I’ll take another look just to make sure. As a lot of other people have said a second drive for holding the data would for sure be ideal.

I do have my own normal.windows PC that I could just dump it all onto. My Proxmox install I am not worried about its really just my one VM that I have spent weeks on now getting my various services setup on.

Can the VMs be moved separately? If so, that would make this a lot easier to just move them to a USB and install the new drive.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I haven’t worked with LVMs in awhile now but I will make note of this if I can manage to get both drives going at the same time.

AverageGoob OP ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

I wanted to start cheap so I admit I got something that wasn’t the most expandable long term but my only problems so far have been storage.

AverageGoob ,
@AverageGoob@lemmy.world avatar

Love the idea but as soon as you lose physical access, software won’t stop someone.

Does look good but I REALLY do not want to buy it on Epic’s launcher.

I second reading it if you can. I started a week ago and I am hooked. Even though I have seen the first movie already it is still a great read so far.

I have been using Bookwyrm - it’s a fediverse style replacement for Goodreads.
