There’s an episode of South Park where they go to the writing offices of Family Guy for whatever reason, and instead of actual writers, they have an aquarium tank full of manatees and plastic balls with words on them.
The manatees would bring the balls to the top of the tank, few at a time, and the staff would use the words on the balls as prompts for their new jokes/episodes.
You reminded me of the main reason why I didn’t like Reddit reposts (it’s been a while). Just as bad were the other bots that took top comments from the earlier posts and put them in verbatim in the repost.

The best bully defense is an overwhelming and unrelenting offense. Yes, I realize there are many reasons why bullies bully. As one who was bullied constantly up through middle school, the only thing that made them stop is when I lashed back. Not mediation; not getting teachers involved; not ultimatums. Make them regret choosing you as their target.
As someone that got bullied through middle and high school i relate strongly) but unrelenting offence don’t work when your bully have influential parents, in my case that was it, and i got labelled as near fricking war criminal, even though i was bullied middle schooler, but you’re absolutely right about common cases)
If they believe someone is a criminal already then just escalate things and appear in their houses in the middle of the night while they are sleeping. Worse than a bully only supportive parents. They all deserve the same treatment.

In my opinion, the school is just a glorified daycare and it’s terrible at it. Kids are inherently dumb and because they are dumb they are cruel. And, worst thing of all, is that they take example from others so putting them up together is the worst idea possible. Kids should be surrounded by adults, not other kids. I will do my best to prevent mine from going to school, or, at the very least, make sure they attend a smaller one with reduced classes. Less kids = less problems.

I had sudden tinnitus start in my left ear pulsing a high pitch with my heartbeat. Then slowly a crackling started in my right with its volume based on what I'm hearing. Now Im bombarded with noise every moment of every day. Docs have basically said "welp this is your life now". The Antidepressants arent cheap either!
I’ve had tinnitus since I was born, that trick does help, but only for a couple minutes. I just live with at this point, I’ve never had true silence so idk what I’m even missing
Two things helped me: learning not to listen to the “noise” (it’s not truly noise, it’s a kind of nerve damage), and hearing aids. When I first put the aids in the tinnitus vanished. The downside is that all the work I’d put in to not listening was overturned, because I “heard” the sounds again when I took the aids out. Still nice to have that respite though.
Training yourself to not listen to the racket isn’t easy, but it is so worthwhile. Turn your attention away to something else - a smell, a photograph, your pet, anything. Focus away. Just thinking about tinnitus is making it “audible” to me, lol! It’s not real sounds, it’s your poor abused nerve endings firing off random signals. White noise works for a lot of people, but it never has for me.

To anyone trying to cope with minor permanent tinnitus know it gets better. When I first realized I had it at 23 I pulled neurotic worrying self pity card, a year later and its just another part of life like that weird occasional ache in your back. I dont notice it 90% of the time and put on a fan or yt video the other 10%. There’s a definite psychological toughness factor to it as you go from “oh man I really really really hope this goes away in a month I dont want this the rest of my life to " oh well could be worse better stop with the loud music and excessive drinking/smoking.”
If I ever have kids of my own I’ll make sure to let them know not to blair shit into their ears for years straight and take hearing protection seriously
In Europe you don’t need countries for this. The smallest federal country will have a clear difference on the road at the border of two federated entities. Worst, it can happen between municipalities in some countries.

I started using ytp-dl and mpv after receiving those adblock warnings. My life is now 420% better because I stopped reading Youtube comments as a side-effect. Also, mpv is 5 billion times better player than any web browser media player can ever be.
This. I tried to self-host Piped and it was a PITA. I am experienced in self-hosting but setting it up behind a reverse proxy was next to impossible and basically no guides exist.
I did vidious, very easy. Sadly max 720p if you proxy from YouTube and if you proxy from your instance 1080p buffers like mad even on a bidirectional 1gig internet on a gaming PC style server. So back to unlock for me since a lot of my videos watched are 4k
I don’t host an instance, so I don’t know how hard it is. You can choose any popular instance like kavin.rocks if hosting doesn’t seem like a viable option.
It heavily depends on the content. While on dumb Videos there are dumb comments and on Minecraft Videos there are childish ones on the high quality of entertainment I watch only perfectly balanced comments are shown.
It’s true that they’re less “facepalm-inducing” under the smarter videos, but any entertainment video with wide enough appeal is gonna be littered with comments that will make you feel like you’re having a stroke while reading them. It usually gets worse if the channel is more family friendly, I assume because the YouTube algorithm serves it to kids a lot more.
Doing that since 2018 methinks, enjoying the gigachad life and refuse to go back to web browser streaming. Glad to see more people are becoming enlightened.
