Dandelions actually do important work for your lawn. They break up the hardened soil to make the ground softer for the grass to grow in. Letting dandelions grow will lead to a more beautiful lawn.
I like dandelions. I’d let them grow even without the additional benefits just because they’re pretty. And also fun for kids when the seeds mature and you can pluck them and blow them into the wind.
I completely agree. But for all those that want the lawn to be beautiful and healthy it’s good to have that knowledge about them. They’re useful and good looking. And you can make shitty wine from them.
Not really. Detaching one’s self from reality is inherently hostile to humanity’s future. It’s an asshole thing to do.
To be fair, we’re all assholes far more than we like to admit, religious or not. Being “spiritual” is not especially worse than a whole lot of other behaviors.
Why would anyone respect an opinion? I respect your right to have an opinion. I respect your right to advocate for an opinion. Opinions themselves should have to earn respect.
This is a perfect example of the kind of harm that magical thinking must do to society in order to preserve itself. Your words sound egalitarian, but they make you an asshole without you even noticing it.
Name one example of a serious problem being faced by humanity that isn’t solidly rooted in undue respect for unchallenged ideas. I think that any philosophy that inherently encourages that kind of behavior is dangerous. I know full well that some people think that makes me an asshole, but I also know they will never try to actually support that belief. Now that’s irony.
Whatever that is supposed to mean, I’m sure you can. But you shouldn’t expect anything of the kind from the head of an organisation with millennia of the most gruesome human rights abuses on their record.

In this cartoon, Don Quixote is depicted on his horse with his lance, but instead of a windmill, he encounters a simple electric fan. The punchline, “I will not fight a child,” adds to the humor by suggesting that Don Quixote perceives the fan as a much smaller and less threatening opponent, akin to a child, thus deciding it’s not worth fighting. Libertarian capitalists: “They claim to be for freedom but constantly require the state to check in on if people are enjoying their freedom like that Nanny’s they never had. I just wanna grill for god’s sake!”
Like it’s just funny to me no matter where you are on the political spectrum, you have a somewhat decent reason to hate liberals (except conservatives are too stupid to tell liberals apart from “commies”).

So while I think recent years of criticism is fair based on his behavior (why the hell is he wasting precious time on Twitter again?) to say the world would be better off without him is to overlook the substantial contributions he has made towards technological advancement and global connectivity. It’s important to separate the individual’s personal flaws from the broader value of their work. Just my 2 cents.
Yay, electric vehicles are popular! Only bring loads of issues, cost a lot of rare earth metals which are mined by slaves and children, run on fossil fuel electricity (many coal plants and bio gas which are burned forests) and they are too heavy for the roads we have and electricity network, causing both to require many more replacements and maintenance, which costs loads of co2 emissions.
SpaceX is awesome! Costs less materials, so much easier to launch way more rockets into the sky! Like for starlink for example. Luckily the fuel used for it has zero emissions /s
But starlink is nice. Loads of space junk and coverage in most places is where already a different and faster network is, but it’s nice to have connectivity in hard to reach places. But is it worth all the emissions and space junk? And child labor for all the rare earth metals?
