I found out about Lemmy BECAUSE of Sync. I’m a huge FOSS supporter but that doesn’t mean I’ll trash anything that isn’t open source.
Much more importantly, I’d really like to see Lemmy succeed against data mining trash like Reddit. Let’s not dissuade potential converts coming over from Reddit with this gatekeeping nonsense. These manipulative parasitic social media companies are the real enemy here. Sync is one guy making one app with a one time purchase. Everyone is still welcome to use open source apps, the website or any other means of accessing the community. Sync is not your enemy.
I had heard of lemmy in the days before the reddit blackout, but only when ljdawson said he was considering building sync for lemmy, did I actually join up.
I tried other clients before sync was actually out, and voyager is pretty good - but sync feels like home.
There was a time when America could reliably produce assassins who could kill both presidential candidates and even sitting presidents. What the he’ll happened? Deindustralization? Too much porn and video games?
Radicalization of ideologies is my bet. Radicals on both sides scream that the other side is evil which creates something broken in the easily influenced. Hell there’s even some radicals that believe that Trump needed to be killed to stop him. And thanks to this person, Trumps side is only bolstered.

I think people are placing too much on this. Being registered is just sending a piece of mail with a checkbox checked, I think. You don’t even have to donate or anything. I registered as a Republican to vote in their primaries a long time ago, and I have literally never voted for a Republican candidate for any office.

This is a bit dishonest. Only Afghanistan and India have banned TikTok from citizens and neither of them are western countires. In every other country you listed it’s just about government devices.
Most governments even semi big companies don’t allow whatsapp or other meta products on their hardware, is that precedent enough to ban meta too? Very few apps comply with the GDPR requirements needed on company/government hardware.

It looks like an alternating series, so It’s likely from a physics class involving electrostatic or maybe control systems. It also could be from a later calculus class where you’re first introduced to alternating series like Taylor or Leibniz.
As someone who has done this over the years, 2007 version was horrible (as you described), 2015 was normal, 2024 version as you see will literally give you the answer and tell you try again without even a point penalty.

HHO generators are a car mod that some backyard scientists got into, but didn’t actually work. They involve cracking hydrogen from water, and making explosive gasses some claimed could make your car run faster. There’s lots of YouTube videos of people playing around with them. Kinda dangerous seeming… Still neat.
The white people as gods myth likely comes from Australia where pale people were thought of as ghosts and treated well and given things they’d need on their trip to the aboriginal afterlife of sorts.
