There’s a difference between expecting to find a reasonable middle ground between unreasonable positions, and understanding that two sides of a dispute are so far apart that there is no middle ground. Israel will not treat Palestinians equally, and Hamas won’t stop until they have wiped Israel off the map.
Regardless of which side you support, there are legitimate concerns about the actions and attocities of each side. Neither side sees the other as human, as deserving of equal consideration. Both claim divine justification in their actions, and both have legitimate existential fears from the opposing side.
To ignore the atrocities committed by one side is to deny the reality of the situation. Bombing civilians is unacceptable. Raping and slaughtering children is unacceptable. Murdering journalists is unacceptable. There’s no “better” or “worse” act of violence. War is hell, and the people who suffer most are not the ones who choose it.
Who started it? Who has escalated it? Neither side has a claim to the moral high ground, and nothing short of eradication will cause either side to stop fighting.
Peace will is only possible if there is forgiveness on both sides. If leaders and civilians alike are willing to accept that there is no justice for war crimes, and there is no balance to violence, then maybe angels will dance on pinheads and monkeys will fly out of my butt.
So, you might as well pick a side and then hope they wipe out their opponents. But you’ll have to kill every single man, woman, and child, because this is a holy war, and there is no victory in half measure, and no room for nuance when God joins the fray. Win or die. Obliterate or sow the seeds of your own destruction.
That’s how Israel feels. That’s how Palestine feels. The enemy is less than human, a disease to be utterly destroyed.
And if you disagree, some 14 year old internet stranger is going to lump you in with centrists who can’t tell the difference between Nazis and everyone else who hates Nazis.
I tried convincing my (cis) GF that she could pee standing up one time based on this website I found by a nurse in 2004 and she was really offended for some reason. She thought it was a joke or something (??). But YES I’ve seen this on the internet
Eh Spotify gets a whole family unlimited for 17 euro, it’s pretty convenient compared to going finding and uploading to my device or purchasing individually.
Concur. I pay for the following subscription services:
My internet connection.
My cell phone plan.
That’s all. Everyone else can go fuck themselves. If I can’t buy it outright, I don’t need it. If it’s digital, it’s on the Pirate Bay. Prime is bullshit anyway. I don’t need a predatory gym membership; Putting an elliptical machine in my own house cost me all of $200 and it’s mine forever. I don’t pay for Dropbox or OneDrive or whatever; I have a massive hard drive in my PC and I can access remotely it via my VPN. Etc.
For inkjet cartridges, I don’t know, but, technically speaking, these cartridges get dry after the first time of use and their ‘needles’, that spray ink, become dirty. I had a bad luck washing the spraying mechanism after that.
LaserJet toners are not liquid at all, so they don’t dry out. They’re just powdered plastic particles that are attracted to static electricity created by lasers on the paper and are melted to the paper with a heated drum. Aside from energy use, laserjets are far superior to inkjets.
I agree. But I also wouldn't mind forgetting one or two things. However, I've also watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, so I know it ends with me having perpetual dementia-like fever dreams.
Sidenote: It’s weird to me that more people don’t talk about the inevitability of that one with the soldiers with cybernetic HUD implants that, shocking twist later, can make civilians look like monsters to be purged.
On the other hand, why bother when the Boston Dynamics murderbots are probably cheaper?
Trump isn’t -The- Antichrist, because that was likely just a bible story warning of populist leaders. But he is -an- antichrist.
He’s not the first and probably not the last, but he has the power to make deeply “Christian” people openly forsake their religion…and if that’s not an antichrist, I don’t know what is.
If I was a Christian (I aint but just work with me here), I’d honestly believe Trump was being used by Satan to lead the Shepard’s beloved sheep astray.
On the one hand, there’s a lot of great metal, it’s obviously not all garbage.
On the other hand, I love winding up those people who get all bent out of shape about how one or more of those genes “isn’t real metal” so I kinda still appreciate the post lol.
Might be indie rock. I’ll never forget going to 4chan /mu/ and seeing a guy argue that music should be unpleasant and hard to listen to if you really care about it, because then your opinion on the “sonic experience” isn’t being compromised by pleasure, citing the godawful singer of Neutral Milk Hotel as enriching the band more than a good singer would have. Called Death Grips “entry-level” music for tweens before you’re ready to graduate to experimental non-melodic field recordings of harsh noise.
I can’t say I agree but I think I can understand what that random 4channer was getting at.
Time by Wax Poetic Is one that I listened to on and off for months when it came out. I could never say I liked it but at times I wanted to hear it. It was never a pleasant experience, more like trying to figure out why I kept wanting to hear it.
What I’ve noticed is anyone who doesn’t listen to extreme music calls it all death metal. It can be straight up hardcore punk but to them it’s “death metal”.
I’m so happy they blurred out the died word otherwise THE AL GORE RHYTHM
Edit: I commented this before reading below. I assumed I was still on Reddit. I didn’t think other people might call that out. I’m dumb for commenting before reading.
