I am also dumb and worthless.

Other stuff uses G-Drive storage too, like G-Mail, Android google backups and apps you give access to your storage.

Unfortunately, when I go to G-Drive website and click on storage, it just shows as “other” without telling me what it actually is (except G-Mail and Photos).

user224 ,

Are you sure you didn’t add that AOL account to that G-Mail account? Because it seems legit.
I get them too

But google and googlе may not be the same.
Homograph attack uses other characters that look the same.

Go here: mothereff.in/utf-8 and paste-in both previous instances of “gооgle”, and you’ll see they differ.
Fun fact: The one in quotes is also different from the two.

*8.1

Due to the optimizations Windows 8.1 is my favorite Windows version. When I compared it to Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon on my old (now dead) laptop, it performed slightly faster. It also somehow beat Windows XP which is what that thing was made for. Although a part of that could have been that half of the drivers only worked in XP, so it had more to load.

Maybe if they properly called it Windows 9, it would have caught on. It was definitely different enough from 8.

user224 ,

SteamOS is Arch-based. Could be that.

user224 ,

While others did explain skibidi toilet, I think it would be good to step back a little to what popularised the… sound? “skibidi”.

Some Turkish dude used this part of a song in his belly dance video. I am talking about a bouncy belly. This is a repost of that: youtube.com/shorts/3-RlRmYshCQ
He then later posted more similar videos, becoming a meme.

As for the song, this is it: youtu.be/0U7SBGBCoGs

user224 ,

Sup. But I was referring specifically to this instance of it as these memes use that sound specifically from this song or remixes of it.

user224 ,

How do you guys get these AI things? I don’t have such a thing when I search using Google.

user224 ,

Not just leaflets, but also music, music videos, snacks and cash.

In addition to anti-Pyongyang propaganda, activists in South Korea have launched balloons carrying among other things, cash, banned media content and even Choco Pies - a South Korean snack banned in the North.

Earlier this month, a South Korea-based activist group claimed it had sent 20 balloons carrying anti-Pyongyang leaflets and USB sticks containing Korean pop music and music videos across the border.

Music, so dangerous!

user224 ,

Maybe grouped tabs? I am also curious what they mean.

“If you don’t know to do X, don’t even bother learning.”

user224 ,

Have you tried to refund the Windows license? (Assuming you didn’t set it up)

user224 ,

Indeed. It’s an OS install, not an exam.

user224 ,

Not OP, but they have more space for battery, cooling, replaceable/upgradable components and keyboard with enough travel.

user224 , (edited )

I mean, I’d even want a phone like Energizer P28K, so there’s that. Unfortunately, no headphone jack. Damn it.

Edit: Hold on, it seems GSMArena might have just missed it

Alright, I might actually get it.

It may be due to their processing.
Better base64 -w 0 myfile.zip > myfile.zip.txt

If it works though ¯\(ツ)/¯

user224 ,

Nah, screw that.
Time to distribute stuff as a VM image.

user224 ,

I currently have broken dependencies due to package from AUR which stops me from updating.
After last update everything is laggy after resuming laptop from sleep.
After last update, I cannot boot up with Linux 5.15. With nomodeset I was able to at least get TTY to upgrade kernel to 6.6.
Sometimes the function buttons die.
Stable now received upgrade to Plasma 6. It will likely kill my install.
I fear updates.
I fear updates.
I fear updates.
I fear updates.
I fear…

I use Manjaro, btw.

user224 ,

Isn’t that usually what happens though?

5G is the new best thing, people jump on 5G, 5G gets overloaded decreasing its speeds while 4G gets unloaded increasing its speeds.

Same thing it was with 4G, which is why I kept using 3G until start of 2024 when it got shut down here.

user224 ,

2.0 created this file. For more info see www.lyx.org

Wait, I thought you guys did it manually…

Anyway, I should still learn it.

user224 ,

This post rather got me questioning what skills or talents I have. None.

So I guess all of them are taking me way longer. When I want to learn something, I usually end up spiralling into thoughts that it’s too late for me and I should have known that much sooner, like others did.

user224 ,

Meanwhile my carrier doesn’t even support MMS.

user224 ,

Definitely wouldn’t want a dumbphone. Rather the opposite, like a super-smartphone, something like Raspberry Pi inside my pocket (PinePhone may be getting there).

This post got me to try installing Jellyfin server in Termux under proot, only to realize it’s fairly useless for random videos and then wipe it 5 minutes later, but anyway that’s the kind of things I do/want to do with my phone.
And hell, I’d definitely want a keyboard attachment like the PinePhone has.

user224 ,

Forget Y2K, let’s be afraid of Y2038.

user224 ,

In a few years you’ll think of how young you were when this 18 year old told you you could be their dad instead of grandpa like you’ll be told in those few years.

Time scares me. I fear it.

user224 ,

Hmm, I just realized I paid more per envelope than per blank DVD.

Well, I was just thinking that I’d rather give them out for free, or the price of DVD + Case. So I thought I could save on cases by putting them in envelopes, but then I realized I paid 10¢ per SL DVD of which I have like 50 left and 23¢ per C5 envelope.
Kinda wild.

Although they are fairly low quality.

user224 ,

I never really considered a tattoo, but perhaps something like this would be fitting:

user224 ,

You mean directories starting with a .?

Depends on the file manager, nothing to do with Android. Which file manager do you use?

user224 ,

Oh, stuff in Android folder?

That’s been restricted since I think Android 11.
You can still access it using a computer with MTP.

Though there may be some better solution I don’t know of.

user224 ,

I’d consider myself a winner if it killed me, but go ahead.

user224 ,

The last selling point of a Pixel was the quick updates and long update life

And I thought it was the ability to re-lock bootloader with a custom key which is why Graphene OS is only developed for Pixels.

user224 ,

So, it seems it gets triggered by just using ADB shell???

x.com/TheNotesOfJosh/status/1791738816362848517

user224 ,
user224 ,

What do you use ADB for?

Since adb backup has been deprecated, I don’t see much use for it. Only for recent Android versions which disallow installation of apps targeting low API, as that can be bypassed using ADB.
Or maybe for apps like scrcpy.

user224 ,

Also worth noting, you should create file named .ventoyignore in the directories with other files. Otherwise Ventoy searches everything which slows it down.

user224 ,

I had a small bag of them for a year. I’ll just dispose of it at this point. They’re discharged so they likely lost quite a bit of capacity.

My dad used to use those. Better yet, from Wish.

And anyway, I have a similar bag of old 18650s to take care of. I should check their voltages now that I remembered it. I know their capacities used to be OK, but similar story. Haven’t touched them for a while.

user224 ,

Absolutely. Perhaps not in this case, but often there aren’t even viable alternatives. You can’t stop buying everything.

And good luck only buying stuff not made with child labor and slavery.

user224 OP ,

Sorry to disappoint you, but I did not have to deal with them yet.

My idea is something like this:

Or probably just as you said.
