Yuuuup lowest pay bump I have gotten was 10k highest was over 50k with the potential of a bonus. I got low balled for a long years and am now like pay me. Wish I would have seen/known my worth long ago before getting taken advantage of

Article says male and female dolls.

Also girls have so many toys already, mean while use dudes are stuck with lotion and our right hand and sometimes you sit on your left hand till it gets tingly and then rub one out. It’s called the stranger

Bravely Default 3DS (lemmy.world)

I finally blew the dust off of my copy of Bravely Default for the 3ds… I’m only a few hours in but this might be the most beautiful jrpg I’ve played on this console. The story so far seems somewhat stereotypical, but the art is gorgeous and the gameplay has been amazing so far! Just wanted to share!

Damn that game is 12 years old. I am getting old

Prosecutors say Alec Baldwin was ‘engaged in horseplay’ with gun before fatal shooting (www.theguardian.com)

Fewer than three weeks before actor Alec Baldwin is due to go on trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico, prosecutors have said that he “engaged in horseplay with the revolver”, including firing a blank round at a crew member on the set of Rust before the tragic accident occurred....

Pacmanlives ,

It’s funny I recently bumped into a guy who is a gunsmith and worked in Hollywood sets before so we talked about this. There are reasons to have a fully functional gun on set and the different rounds they use on set because there are a bunch of different types depending on the scene and lighting. They use different charges for different shots and a bunch of other things. Especially if it’s a practical effects movie.

The issue is making sure live ammo is not on set or around the guns on set. If you have access to these guns you can use them after filming is done with live rounds.

Alex trusted the people around him to do their jobs and they didn’t make it a safe set. This is like flipping the keys to Dodge Hellcat to your 15 1/2 year old son with a learners driving permit and his 18 year old friend riding shotgun. It’s not a good idea. They should be driving Kia Sportage.

I have been hearing really good things about this new service called X. Very small and friendly community. You just need to register an account and do 12 easy installments of 420.69 yearly

Pacmanlives ,

So filthy rich they have someone else buy their groceries and never look at the bill

Pacmanlives ,

Why is King Charles stilling my shit?!?!?

Pacmanlives ,

Still order like grandpa. I go in and want to talk to a human and order. I hate those gross ass touchscreens. I am probably a minority especially in my age group and working in tech

Pacmanlives ,

Some pawn shops might take you up on this

Pacmanlives ,

Not sure where you have heard they are slower. Most of my experience has they are faster but I will say BSD kind of sucks on a laptop.

I would see what’s supported and then run something like Fluxbox as your WM

Pacmanlives ,

Very excited to see the rest of this series. I still run some BSD box’s. I really really enjoy it. I really wish they would support Docker at this point but it’s complex and I get it with the developers they have. Jails still work so so well. I am on a box I think I installed end of FreeBSD 9 or 10 on and just keep upgrading. That’s probably get to the 10 year mark at this point. I will have to go and check. It’s such a smooth system to run really a dream. Wish more people tried it especially

I didn’t expect watching Old Boy today and then seeing more or less of a real world thing. My partner was deeply disturbed by the movie. Their first time seeing it

Wow where did they get that number? I believe it but that’s a very specific number

Pacmanlives ,

This is perfect for my chess tournaments!!!

Pacmanlives ,

It’s not as bad as people make it out to be but a lighter roast will pack more caffeine in it. If you get a chance to a tour in Costa Rica. I did a few and it was awesome

Pacmanlives ,

First issue it’s had since 2001. That’s really good!

Being stuck upside down would suck but it’s not life threatening and you got a story to tell people. Better then a getting stuck in an elevator story

Pacmanlives ,

OpenSuse Tumbleweed, gets you on the bleeding edge and I have had 1 issue like 5 years ago where I got a broken xorg driver. Rolled back the patch using snapper/btrfs and was back in business. Upgraded like a week later and everything was fine. System is still chugging all these years later.

Also nothing wrong with running Debian Sid another distro I never ran into that many problems.

From what I remember hardware support was weird with ME. If you had the right hardware you were golden. Also last release of MSDOS

With the recent issues of transgender people in sports, why don’t we move some sports over to a weight-class system?

Obviously this won’t work for all sports, but things like football, track, soccer, it would allow for de-gendered team, even allowing athletes with the skills but not the genetically-endowed physical attributes to have a place to play....

Pacmanlives ,

I remember Serena Williams making a comment that the men can just hit harder and faster. So even a sport like tennis men just have an advantage.

Having watched some badass girls wrestle dudes and win it’s an up hill battle. Women are typically stronger then men at a young age like single digit age but one puberty hits it’s all off the table.

Now shooting(archery/firearms) I have seen girls out preform men and it’s a fair sport of accuracy. Also in motor sports women can be competitive there and also have an advantage of being smaller and lighter. Every 100 lbs is a 1/10th a second

It’s the one I use along with Trello. Not gonna be a fan favorite for Selfhosted though

Man I remember having to buy a Cisco pcmcia WiFi card for my laptop to be able to support my collages CHAP auth to be able to get WiFi on campus

Right!!! I want my damn home button back

Eh I doubt Colorado would block water rights to CA. AZ and UT are kind of the wild cats. I would expect them all to just let it keep flowing because someone up stream of them could do the same. It’s kind of like having nukes and having alliances.

But is the same sort of thoughts when I lived in the Great Lakes area. It was thought to be a good area for dirty bombs and to pollute the hell out of it because it feeds the rest of the country’s water.

Was always told The Perry nuclear power plant was a target because of that

Pacmanlives ,

Wow! I just use an alt for my shit posting and likes. Guess my raciest uncle hasn’t figured that out yet thankfully.

This platform is dying a slow slow death. Really wish more people where on Mastodon

Pacmanlives ,

Here I am playing games from the 90s and 00s. Crazy that Quake III and Unreal Tournament are still active.

Pacmanlives ,

I mean kind of depends. I got a soft layoff so worked 6 months more and got 3 months pay for the transfer to India.

I think best practices for highly secure environments is at the time of notice you lock the account and give that person 2 weeks off.

Most normal company’s it’s cool work till your last day, do your exit interview and we lock your account on Friday afternoon or Monday

Also you never want to change someone’s password on termination. What if their login is running some business critical tasks? Not best practices but I can tell you it happens a lot especially for reporting. If you lock the account you can always just reenable it and work to fix the issue

Great distro! I ran Lunar Linux so Source Mages sister from the fork of Sorcerer Linux. Lunar I know is still going and updating. Need to drop into their IRC channel for support and what not. Wonder if Source Mage is still kicking. Amazing how great the bash scripts were to run it all. I feel like if they added binary support they would get a lot more traction

I really remember heatsinks being a thing on overclocked systems around that time frame and then once we got to P4 cpus the chilling towers appeared those things were massive

Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are surging "faster than ever" to beyond anything humans ever experienced, officials say (www.cbsnews.com)

One of the major drivers of the exceptional heat building within Earth’s atmosphere has reached levels beyond anything humans have ever experienced, officials announced on Thursday. Carbon dioxide, the gas that accounts for the majority of global warming caused by human activities, is accumulating “faster than ever,”...

“Unlike gas-powered engines—which are made up of thousands of parts that shift against one other—a typical EV has only a few dozen moving parts. That means lessdamage and maintenance, making it easier and cheaper to keep a car on the road well past the approximately 200,000-mile average lifespan of a gas-powered vehicle. And EVs are only getting better. “There are certain technologies that are coming down the pipeline that will get us toward that million-mile EV,” Scott Moura, a civil and environmental engineer at UC Berkeley, told me. That many miles would cover the average American driver for 74 years. The first EV you buy could be the last car you ever need to purchase.“

No way a car would last me and my family 74 years. First year I owned my car I put on almost 35k. Was driving 100 miles back and forth to work at that time. We typically take a road trip from colorado to near Vermont every year for a vacation.

A lot of midwesterns will drive 14 hours to get some where

Pacmanlives ,

Round trip was 100 miles every day. This was rural Ohio driving to Columbus so it was not to bad 2 and 4 lane roads till you hit the city most of them time. If we got a lot of snowfall it could super suck but I was from NE Ohio so most of the time it was not that much white knuckle driving. You just listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts or call some friends on your hour or so drive home

Pacmanlives ,

Yeah Bay Area and LA traffic is next level. My condolences to those souls who make that drive every day

Shutdown -a or whatever the flag is should abort it if I remember correctly

How to fix Korea's birthrate? Put girls in school earlier, controversial report argues (koreajoongangdaily.joins.com)

“Notably, Chang’s report claims that biological females develop earlier than males do, so requiring girls to enter school at younger ages will create classes in which the two sexes are of more equal maturity as they age. This, the author posits, makes it more likely that those classmates will be attracted to each other, and...

They have done some but it’s not been enough to fix their issues

Pacmanlives ,

This seems to track for Idaho. Super large Mormon and white supremacies population there

Pacmanlives ,

Don’t even have fake friends it’s a lot of just crap on there now. Far cry from when it was just friends and family

Pacmanlives ,

Fuck yeah!!! The hardware is great for this headset just not many games on the PS5. Which has made me disappointed

Pacmanlives ,

It is definitely Zypper and there really is only one distro that uses it and mentioned above
