I think this sort of system is better and cheaper. Also has been around for a long time. Now you know what those hanging chains are used for on buses and fire trucks near the wheels

Looks like mine shipped! I completely forgot I preordered it lol. Christmas is coming early!

recommendations for lightweight window managers for an old netbook

Hi, I’ve got an old netbook from Samsung that has an old Intel Atom CPU (Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz). I installed Arch on it and am now thinking of a suitable window manager. I tried Hyprland (kinda expecting it to not work really) whick didn’t start at all. Before I had Debian with Gnome, which technically worked, but...

I am old school and still use Fluxbox for that kind of work load. Wish they had Wayland support!

The Boring Company is stating to sound like they will just use Teslas in the tunnels not any other form of transportation. So it’s a very lack luster project to say the least

It was said some monks would only drink beer during Lent as part of their fasting.

Hey now! I already created my own fediverse servers in Panama and registered to a local domain provider down there and am behind 7 proxy’s at all times for my Shit Posting aS a Service or SPASS as it’s commonly called. You can’t take that away from us!

All joking aside I hope you’re wrong but it’s probably gonna go that way. Really want Mastodon to take off here

Buyers worldwide go for bigger cars, erasing gains from cleaner tech. EVs would help. (abcnews.go.com)

The negative impact on the climate from passenger vehicles, which is considerable, could have dropped by more than 30% over the past decade if not for the world’s appetite for large cars, a new report from the Global Fuel Economy Initiative suggests....

I would not recommend a Ford Fiesta. I have a 2012 and it’s laterally falling apart. Side mirror started to sag on the passager side guess it was a common issue. Trim around the windshield is dry rotted along with all the other trim. Only saving grace for me is that’s it’s a manual. The automatics liked to explode because of really bad Ford designs in that era of car. Focus has the same tranny issues as well

Time to switch to Gentoo or Funtoo? That’s when you really start putting more pep in your step

Method I use is a RAID 5 replace all my disks with larger ones. Grow RAID, LVM and then XFS. Went from 4TB drives to 8TB, and now 24TB drives using this method for the past about decade now

Kind of depends. Vermont cheddar cheese is fantastic and very nice but if you looking for a good smash burger or juicy Lucy burger you have to use that crappy Kraft singles stuff for the proper melt. Sure you can get Kraft in a block of sliced cheese but I am rarely cooking for like 50-100 people, which these blocks come out of.

Kraft cornered the market for a stable cheese in the early 1900’s here in America that melts really nicely and has a long shelf life with Velveeta.

A fun short little history and company story is by the Company Man on YouTube youtu.be/Hp0uhC15RtI?si=JAPmRQztP7ee5eSU

But even Guga Foods on YouTube highly recommends using the crappy cheese over the fancy stuff

Sadly my local emergency services still uses them to let the community know what’s going on. Denver PD is still doing a good job updating their page and I wish they would move to Mastodon here sooner rather then later

Low demand product and are creating hype going into the holidays. I wish this was another PSP or Vita both of which I bought at release but this is not it. If I could play my PS5 games not streaming that would be amazing but it’s a streaming device that is needs WiFi connectivity. I am not expecting PS5 level of performance out of it based on the size and cost of this product. I really wonder who their target audience is and what market research they used for this one!

Not surprised by this at all. I remember when a High School built a new multimillion dollar school in Ohio on an old base and all the sudden people started getting sick and cancer. Come to find out there was a bunch of buried toxic chemicals and it became a super site in Marion Ohio. Happens more then it should

Neat! What’s your IRQ number? Damn I am old for making that comment but this day and age actually doing username or a pgp key share should not be that hard for an app this popular and how secure you want to make it. Would be amazing to do pgp encrypted messages to a secure party and then have it handled over the signal protocol

God I want this so so bad! But I don’t think it will happen since he has yet to be convicted of the crime. Hate to say it but innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. Hope that happens sooner rather then later
