This just made the best argument for how Iām going to plan my diet going forward. Nothing but fries and ice cream from now on. Iāll be a paragon of health.
Supposedly Christian Bale consumed a diet of exclusively pizza and ice cream to get from a Machinist physique to a Batman one, so maybe youāre more right than you realized!
Your sodium, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels will earn gold, silver, and bronze medals for their Olympic-grade high jumps. And thatās how you know itās healthy.
At work I use windows, at home I use Linux. They both have their annoyances. Linux more because of availability of apps natively running. And windows more because windows is painful to use as a power user.
I also use Linux at home and am forced to use Windows at work. I disagree with Linux being more annoying, Iāve fully embraced the mindset that open source/Linux supported software is the only software that exists and I havenāt had any issues since I switched years ago.
Of course if you really really need some specific software for some niche that doesnāt have a perfect open source equivalent thatās a harder pill to swallow for some.
Iām much happier on Linux, my windows work PC is nothing but a pain to use.
Iām still a relative noob with Linux and I find stuff ābreaksā more on Linux (ābreaksā as in does something I donāt want it to), nursing and it can take me a while to fix those things because Iām still learning. It takes a while in part because I want to actually understand whatās going wrong (and how to fix it), rather than just doing the thing.
With Windows, when itās doing something I donāt want it to, itās usually a much more straightforward troubleshooting process because often, itās a problem I canāt solve. The stuff I can change is quicker because I have more experience with Windows, but overall, the experience is much more frustrating because of all the stuff I need to tolerate. It makes it feel like my computer isnāt my own.
Fair, definitely a learning curve and I can definitely sympathize with trying to fix things in Linux, I have had my fair share of why is that doing that, I just find that more tolerable than windows lol.
Yes of course! And we always have Wine. I had a situation yesterday where I needed to remove some triangles (millions needed to be removed) from an STL file and there is a native app for window. On wine Linux it runs super slow. Butā¦I donāt have a windows machine right now. So I had to buckle up for slow rendering of my triangles lol
Artix-dinit for me and still waiting for Alpine to switch to s6 for server.
Btw, why is it that there are lots of rolling release but no stable release distros with Dinit/S6/Runit? Thereās Devuan but they do their own weird mix of Runit and SysV. Not like they are brand new, all except Dinit have 10 years+.
Itās funny you mention that. Iām dealing with the squirts as I write this comment lol. Not sure if itās the nightshift, the pulled pork I had for dinner, or my second cup of coffee causing this. Probably a bit of all three
Exactly. Also everyoneās so fucking uptight on day shifts. On nightswe can have radio banter and when somethings fucked I can conver that as creatively as I want. Theres no meetings on the off shifts, I just get to show up and do my job without bullshitting to management about how Iām doing my job. On off shifts as long as shit gets done noone seems to give a damn about how it gets done.
Its always been about waking the people up. First it was showing the people an ideal version of themselves. Then it was about showing the people a version of themselves who had quibbles but never gave up. Then it was about showing the people the kinds of monster people can become when their moral character was neglected. Now? Its about showing the people theyāre seen. Showing them we understand each other and can have solidarity.
Comics arenāt just woke. They havenāt just always been woke. Theyāre an alarm clock ticking down to our collective awakening
Downvoting in general confuses me so often. There are times where a simple stated a fact, not even something controversial, will be downvoted. Iām like, who goes around just downvoting at random? The most recent one I recall is someone saying that everyone comes back to life in fighting games and I pointed out that Kliff from Guilty Gear never came back and I got downvoted for that. Like what??? I was hoping to get some replies and have a decent conversation there, but my comment got hidden due to the downvotes.
