I’m not big into multiplayer games, but I have noticed that lemmy and Reddit just get very pessimistic whenever a beloved company announces a multiplayer game

The fact is that it’s hard to get the actual statistic. To truly make the comparison 1-to-1, we need to count how often they are alone in the woods with a bear and how often they are alone with a man. My two cents: if you have been comping enough in bear country then you know that bears are kinda always around and they just don’t bother anyone.

This might be kinda unique, but I’m in a situation where I want to move to a different location (I mostly want something bike-able) and I’m remote so there is not that much of an urgency. It would be silly for me to get rid of my “starter home” because I got it at a very low interest rate.

I love my steam deck and I doubt I would be replacing it any time soon, but if someone comes up with something with a more appealing form factor, like something that can fit in my pocket then I’m sold. It doesn’t need to be super graphics intensive, just needs to be able to play some easy to pickup-and-play games like stardew and slay the spire.

Thats the crux of it all. The a lot of the funniest videos 15+ years ago were just random videos on random accounts. There was no monetary incentive, so a lot accounts were just people who luckily captured something funny and uploaded it. Creative stuff felt authentic too, they were not chasing a trend, they were just trying to show off their original skills. I still love a lot of what we have today, but it is getting buried by trend chasers.

Online dating, but we really clicked once it turned out we both love same kinda of video games (mostly Kojima stuff). She commented on my gaming headsets in one of my pics, but they were not even gaming headset, they were just Bluetooth sennheisers, but from there we dove deeper into our interests. I was not a big fan of BG3 or even the divinity series, but I love Larian. Their products show clear passion for the budget they have, they don’t bad mouth other dev just to gain some brownie pts with gamers (CDPR) and their games are well supported.

To me it just felt like divinity with higher budget. It has Proper cinematic cutscenes and different rules to the combat. I guess I just don’t like CRPGs, I never properly feel immersed in the world.

At the end of the day it’s apples to oranges. The behind the scene development is so different that we can’t really judge them properly, we just have other modern games to compare them to.

Just 10mins ago I was thinking how great the digital age started. I liked that when I bought something I can store it anywhere, play/listen (don’t remember if digital movies was a thing) it without any internet connection etc. Then we got Netflix and eventually Spotify and we got even more options, do you want to pay a reasonable price a month and watch/play essentially anything or do you want to keep your stuff forever and pay more? But then other companies wanted that piece of pie and started their own services, neutered existing services, raise prices often, got more aggressive with drm and other limitations. My point is, when things start and they seem good in this tech world of ours, just think a bit outside of the box about how bad it can get, because believe me, you are likely correct with that. When this digital age started, people were fearful too, and most of their fears came true.

Yep, I bought a pack of these, but then i didn’t need them because I didn’t use the stylus enough/stylus had a good battery life, BUT then when I did want to use the stylus I had no fucking idea where I stored those batteries.
