Yeah haha definitely fake, these pumps don't have touch screens so this interface wouldn't work on them. Choices have to be aligned with the 4 buttons on the left and right. Second one from the top on the right side will mute the ads also.
Yeah same with me. Circle K is the only place around here whose pumps play ads though, so maybe it's just their machines it works on. Someone even scrawled "<- mute" in permanent marker next to the button on all their pumps.
A two party system is an inescapable consequence of the plurality voting system (aka first-past-the-post voting) which is the system used by nearly all states and districts in the US, and much of the rest of the world. To fix the two party problem, the first step is to change the voting system. There are a number of alternative voting systems, each with their own pros and cons and situational uses. For legislative bodies, boards, or any other elected committee, I’m partial to proportional voting. And for single seat elections, I think approval voting is the ideal.
The thing that makes approval voting and other single seat voting systems better than plurality is that you vote for everyone you like. The way that that vote is cast and counted differs between systems. But in all cases, the benefit, ideally, is when 3 or more candidates exist for a seat, it prevents the least popular candidate from winning just because the other more popular candidates split the opposing voters. If you vote for each candidate you like, the candidates are never splitting the votes. The funny thing to me about most of these other fairer voting systems is that, while they are susceptible to a sort of spoiler effect from overly strategic or cynical voters who will simply only support one candidate, the result of that is just plurality voting, which we already have now. In other words, our current system is the worst case scenario for other, better, voting systems.

Is this accurate? My understanding is that at least in Europe, it is only the UK and Belarus that use first-past-the-post; everywhere else uses some form of proportional voting.
It’s not the majority of the world, but there are a few dozen countries that primarily use FPTP. It’s used in North America, Europe, Africa, South Asia, the Middle East and a bunch of Pacific island nations. Belarus and the UK appear to be the only European nations to do so though, yes.
State election reforms to ranked choice voting have already started some places. Alaska, Hawaii and Maine all use it for some state elections. Some other states use it in some local jurisdictions. Of course, several backwards states have outlawed Ranked Choice altogether. Once it’s used widely enough and been demonstrated to work well, that makes it easier to get it on a ballot at the federal level.
What can you do personally? Advocate for it where relevant, contact your representatives and let them know it’s important to you, and vote for it if given the chance.
That was surprisingly easy to find. Less than 5 seconds, and I’m easily stumped by these kinds of things. One of the beans looks like it has a toothy smile just up and to the left of him and I zeroed in on that first.
It’s the same problem as all the other ride share companies. They don’t pay their drivers enough and they massively over charge customers. Drivers get no benefits and have to use their own cars while DoorDash makes a fortune. It’s disgusting greed and it doesn’t help restaurants either
I know a few things could be pennies more expensive on the items in store. They often lack deals found on Native apps.
it’s usually cheaper to buy on doordash here than from the restaurants own app. I did get 3 years free DoorDash plus or what ever from Amazon Prime though, I likely won’t renew the subscription.
The only rip off is suggesting a 5 dollar tip on a 20 dollar order. Always tip $0.
The problem is that apps like Doordash also increase the price of each item individually. So if you order from the restaurant itself, the sandwich might be $10 and fries might be $3. But if you order from Doordash, the sandwich will be $12 and the fries will be $4, then they have delivery fees, AND have all of these other extra mystery fees and then paying the delivery driver on top of that.
Our fees will change depending on the date and time of day.
And as I said, there are hidden fees too, not just service and delivery fees. Each menu item will have a hidden increased cost. I noticed this once when I compared the line items to a bill I had in the restaurant versus my Doordash bill. They increased the price of every single item on the menu and the app doesn’t tell you that they do this.
As I have already said, SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY, there is no price difference between items on Door Dash and instore/restaurant except for the Loblaws grocery store.
These prices are set by the buisness and not Door Dash so your locale may differ but it’s not an issue with Door Dash but the individual vendors.
Another local pizza place is on Door Dash and it is ~1 dollar cheaper per item and free delivery, however you cannot choose your own toppings from thier Door Dash store.
Subway is on there. The prices for everything I get are the same price. Double meat is $4.00 on both apps, extra cheese is $2.00 on both apps.
McDonalds has the same price on their app and on Door Dash for everything I regularly order. Door Dash offers free delivery and has smaller fees.
Jesus, dude. Don’t blow a fucking gasket. For hundreds of millions of DorrDash customers, this isn’t the way it works. For example, the combo meal for a burger at my local McDonalds is $10.49 in the McDonald’s app, but $12.43 in the DoorDash app BEFORE you add any of the non-hidden fees.
I’m glad that DoorDash is cheaper for you, but it doesn’t work that way for 99% of their customer base. You are an unusual exception.
DoorDash were listing restaurants without their permission on the app. So a bunch of restaurants would either get orders they couldn’t fulfill, or DoorDash would just tell customers not to order there because they were unavailable, despite not being given permission to list them in the first place.
DoorDash is a brutally scummy company. Genuinely one of the worst service economy companies going around.
I think Uber that exploits their workers about the same, while also racing to get autonomous driving available no matter how many accidents happen to be quite a bit scummier.
So you’re saying any word in the latin alphabet can be projected onto this map. The fabled land of Icecream is on this very map. We could do so much with this technology.
Is this ai generated ? or is it just poorly photoshoped because there’s a lot of texture detail missing from the image
Edit: it also looks like someone told it to make Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and it created a Asian-European version of her because the face seems to similar
Yeah, I thought it was just over smooth, but fuuuck.
Look at 1st girls teeth in 1st pic. They get bigger from left to right, despite the camera angle. 3rd pic, normal size. Also. See the glasses bridge between 1&3, changes shape, weorrd spot in eye on 3
Just curious, what makes you think you’re only getting REM?
Speaking as someone dxed with narcolepsy, a sleep disorder where you get a disproportionate amount of REM. There are a lot of conditions–sleep disorders and otherwise–that can cause excessive sleeping and daytime fatigue.
Not to say that it isn’t sometimes just a matter of sleep habits or consistency, but my advice is that it can’t hurt to speak with a doctor about your symptoms if you have the chance. :)
Well it can also be the case that I just have a very good dream memory, but I noticed that I can relatively easaly drift into a dream while being aware of my environment even when I was fully awake before. Not always though.
I also can remember having 4-10 dreams in a night. Of cause we don’t only dream in the REM sleep so it’s kinda hard to keep track of how much I actually sleep.
I probably just have a pretty good dream memory and have a very light sleep
Depends, I have allergies and during peak allergy times for me I usually get very congested. So during the yes, I found something this season that help clear my sinuses really well and ended up getting some pretty good sleep. And then other factors of course, such as if I’ve drank or yadda yadda
