I think organic memes like this are better than ones designed specifically to be memes. That being said, yea, it’s really not super funny/interesting/unique of a meme.
I think it’s only a meme because the girl is attractive and has a southern accent. Take those 2 away and no one would give a shit. I think mostly the girl being attractive is driving the spread.

It’s not a constant 100% result, but yeah it’s kind of a well established natural phenomenon. Couldn’t stop it if you wanted to. Some people can get the same benefit solely from having their comments upvoted, we process it the same as regular human interaction. Bonus points exist for huggers.
I consider myself to have a pretty small social battery, but gaming online on discord isn’t nearly as draining as being physically with people at someone’s house or something, maybe I’m just weird.

Being around people I know and like is incredibly pleasant and relaxing, particularly when we’re all engaged in an activity together - volleyball or board game night or watching a movie together.
The trick I’ve found is to do something everyone vibes with and that has incredibly low stakes. So, like, carving pumpkins during Halloween or splitting a bottle of wine and complaining about work together or visiting a museum.
Its nice to have people saying and doing things that you wouldn’t normally say or do. And its nice to have other people responding to your own thoughts and feelings.
Doscord friends! You can make quite a few friend groups to play games with that way. I’ve got a group where we are either playing DnD, or were finding the next coolest game for us all to enjoy.
…It occurs to me that I am interpreting “rush” in the RTS sense of attacking early before your opponent is ready, not in the sense of pressuring people to take their turns faster.
I’ve been playing couch co-op with my husband on both of our Switches. It’s not too bad if you don’t force a turn timer. The game will give you a ding when you’re the last one to play, but we both have ‘side games’ or play with our cats in the meantime if the other needs more time. I wouldn’t do it online or with a turn timer, though.
How about the whole villains-have-rotten-teeth thing? When this came out in the theaters the first time, my best bud had bad teeth from growing up poor and neglected. Fucking felt terrible watching it.
Villains are stereotypically older fat queer bald men (e.g. Vladimir Harkonnen). These are all factors people have little-to-no control over.
Media will sometimes subvert those expectations, but most of the time the iconography matters more to the filmmaker than decency. It’s quite fucked up the insecurities these portrayals breed, no amount of positive affirmation will make up for the fact that some natural body types are fundamentally associated with villainy in the Western visual canon.

My condolences. I’m already annoyed with the times USC units are presented in Australia (our nominal pipe sizes are often talked about in inches, and sometimes valves and such have USC flow coefficients because the manufacturer is American).

There are three sizing standards used in the UK right now: metric for newer homes, imperial for older homes and farmer’s sizing for fuck you, that’s why.
as a mechanic working in a hodgepodge US/EU factory line, I have to suffer through always carrying double the tools to service metric and SAE machines. and after so many years in the industry, I still slip up and say 3/16 when I mean 3/8 sometimes, because fractions are a shit system for wrenches.
oh, and some of our linear encoders readout decimal-feet, because fuck it, why not?
