Well you see, when an executive loves money very much…

Etterra ,

Joke’s on them, I never stopped being a paranoid shut-in from the last pandemic.

Etterra ,

Oh boy, time to risk us all again. At least it’ll help cull the antivaxers out a little.

Etterra ,

It’s like Todd is an infant without object permanence.

Etterra ,

I know white supremacists are fucking stupid, but you’d think they’d at least be smart enough to not need clip-on kiddie-sized ties.

Etterra ,

Mine are a few blocks away, but ya know what? Worth it. Nuke away.

US Supreme Court lifts ban on gun bump stocks approves mass murder facilitating device

FTFY.

Etterra ,

Well those 80-100 feral hogs ain’t gonna shoot themselves.

What? The number? Well bump stocks were illegal so we couldn’t keep their numbers under control. We were totally unarmed.

Etterra ,

Because when he tried to play a white guy he got sued by Dave Chappelle.

Etterra ,

Hey wait a second, this isn’t titanium - it’s gypsum wrapped with aluminum foil!

Everybody has a bias. Some just hide or try to remove it more than others. Faux News was built from the ground up explicitly to be the GOP’s propaganda mill, and MSNBC has a clear liberal bias. Ground News at least tells you where the bias leans. There’s been data published on bias - how much and what kind - for ages. The idea of impartial news was only around for a few decades in the 20th century. Now it’s a largely baseless claim. But if you look at news print media from, say, the late 1800s through early 1900s you can see the bias clear as day.

Etterra ,

They live in the fucking Alps, how the hell did they screw up the heating switch?

Etterra ,

It’s almost like there’s a middle ground somewhere that they keep swerving around.

Etterra ,

So how many “gifts” have the gun lobby given them this time?

Etterra ,

Good on them for getting free money out of a soulless corporate financial vampire.

Etterra ,

If they were actually able to get away with this, they weren’t producing anything already. This is just another example of how much of office work is just meaningless bullshit that doesn’t matter.

Etterra ,

I’m sure there’s nothing nefarious going on here.

Etterra ,

Remember that Friend Computer loves you. Returning that love TO Friend Computer is MANDATORY, and failure to comply will be considered treason and thus grounds for IMMEDIATE TERMINATION. Thank you citizen and have a mandatorily happy day!

Etterra ,

Goddammit Pentagon. That’s not how diseases work.

Etterra ,

Funny how he always purposes to end the war specifically when his arm is getting it’s teeth punched down its throat. But only if the give and take of negotiations is “Ukraine gives everything that Russia is trying to take.”

Etterra ,

When will designers learn to stop jumping into the uncanny valley? Just give it a simple led panel that can do pixelated emojis or something. There’s a reason everybody loves R2D2 - because he’s a foul mouthed little trashcan that nobody can understand and not a creepy talking doll.

Etterra ,

You’re correct, however if you’ve ever worked in a distribution center you’d know that single-operation dumb bots have limited usefulness. There’s plenty of times when the product picker’s task is: go to location, open case, take out product, place safely on pallet/wire rack/belt so that it won’t get wrecked or dropped, scan data into needlessly complicated proprietary software that’s not compatible with anything else, clean up after yourself (out the last guy), repeat.

There’s a shocking amount of manual labor required in the industry that requires something like a person to do in distribution, just because it’s too complicated and multifaceted for current machines to handle. My example didn’t even cover half of the job.

Etterra ,

Wow I’ll bet they’ll have a whole universe of fun.

Etterra ,

Naw that’s a boomer thing. I’m Gen X, we didn’t do duck & cover. My dad did though lol. We did do tornado drills because we’re in the Midwest though.

Etterra ,

I mean you have to be pretty stupid to believe in Tesla at this point. When was the last time they came out with a new car? Not counting the Cyberrust.

Etterra ,

Never heard of them, so still not gonna read their crap.

Etterra ,

That’s nice. Now work on making single player work offline.

Etterra ,

Don’t forget prison labor slavery, especially in the south. It was specifically added for that very reason.

Etterra ,

There’s already extensions that somehow skip sponsorship sections, so it won’t even take that long.

Etterra ,

This is new to me; are there any decent android apps for it?

Americans, how do you feel about being stored in a database by government agencies like the NSA?

Every search you make, email you send, text message, voice chat, location, and most likely the conversations you have in your own home are monitored and stored in a database for whoever knows how long (probably forever). When I hear land of the free, I immediately think bullshit. We are slowly losing our freedoms, what can we do...

Etterra ,

It’s not surprised. He’s acting surprised because he got caught. It’s pretty standard for these jerkass tech bros. “Move fast break things” is code “break laws be unethical” - as I think we’ve all seen if you do it often and fast enough you can keep way ahead of any kind of accountability because everybody else is trying to play catch up well the last thing has already filtered out of the news cycle.

Etterra ,

Whenever I have to use thin TP i just use way more of it. So much for saving money, dipshits.

Etterra ,

In Chicagoland there are places where you can’t even plug something into an outlet because of Unions. I’m all for Unions, but some (especially the police) of them are basically shadow governments with their own special rules.

Etterra ,

If that’s all it takes to get you drunk then you are the lightest lightweight I’ve ever even heard of.

Etterra ,

3-4 beers isn’t even enough for me to get tipsy, much less drunk. I literally can’t understand how people get drunk off beer. I can drink the stuff until I’m literally full and just get nicely buzzed at best no matter how strong they make it. Which is fine, I prefer sweet stuff anyway. Mixed drinks and shots can actually get the job done on the rare occasion I actually feel like getting drunk.

Microsoft's new Paint Cocreator requires an NPU — AI-powered feature requires 40 TOPS of performance and a Microsoft account (www.tomshardware.com)

Microsoft quietly added a new AI feature, called Cocreator, into its raster graphics editor included in every version of Windows since 1985. You need a Copilot + PC with an NPU that can deliver 40 TOPS or better to use it. So, you need to shell out at least $1,099 to get one of the new Snapdragon X Windows Copilot+ PCs that...

Etterra ,

I wish somebody would figure out how to lock up online integrated AI with some kind of recursive nonsense or something.

Etterra ,

Good luck with that. Let us all know when you’ve solved a problem intrinsic to human nature so we can let you cure greed next.

Etterra ,

Government: this thing you want is illegal

Media: new thing being used because old thing is illegal turns out to be way more dangerous

Government: this new thing is illegal

Media: new new thing being used because old new thing is illegal turns out to be way, way more dangerous

Government: surprised Pikachu face

Etterra ,

But it’s still as narcissisticly stupid as we already know it was.

Etterra ,

I mean I hate Martin Shkreli and rap, so this is really a win-win scenario. I mean if I had that kind of album that was supposed to be one of a kind, I’d have that bitch uploaded to some Chinese website in about an hour on principle.

Etterra ,

Don’t forget the needless implementation of always-online single player games. Even for single/multiplayer games like PoE or anything Diablo, there’s literally no technical need to have a connection. It’s just fancy DRM for Blizzard and an excuse to milk you more microtransactions for PoE.

And before anyone regurgitates Blizzard’s BS about anti-cheat, it’s very possible to keep multiplayer characters on the server and single player on your computer and never have them interact or permit single player loot to be sold on their marketplace. Not to mention their regular online check for D2R. Blizzard has ALWAYS used aggressively hostile DRM. If they could virus bomb thieves’ computers then they absolutely would.

Etterra ,

It took them this long? Impressive. Idiotic, but still impressive.
