I think you can still get a non-DL state issued ID card that would work for getting a passport with your DL suspended, but also, just pay the child support

But nice of her to share her cheat codes with her friend. That’s what I did on the playground in the 90s, too.

Probably some pewter or brass charm she bought from a charlatan.

TheFriar ,

I bet you it’s one of those “silver” things they claim is the real money. Like how they give little silver bricks? Maybe some strange corner of the sovcit world started producing “real” “money” with this “silver” stuff, stamped into a coin shape for these sovcits to scream about when no one accepts it as currency.

Easy, you let it wave back and forth in front of the banker: “Your eyelids are heavy, you hear only my voice, when you wake up you’ll be convinced that I have paid you in full”

I like that. Some of the things Bones posts here are about as inscrutable as Game Genie codes. At the same time, the rest have that “die in this specific spot and unlock infinite lives” energy.

It sounds to me like they printed their own “money.” Then they pulled out some section of law that they’ve misinterpreted to mean that the bank has to accept her Karenbucks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason they are waiting forever for their tax return is because they didn’t successfully exploit a loophole and got put into the pile for closer inspection. It’s not like you just randomly have to wait longer than everyone else. Something happened.

I love the “just do what hasn’t worked for anyone ever, maybe it’ll work for you” answer.

HelixDab2 , to insanepeoplefacebook in Sovcit has a question.

The tl;dr version is - you pay your goddamn child support. That’s it. That’s your only choice. If you currently owe more than $2500, you can not legally get a passport, and any passport you can get won’t be a legal one.

A few years ago I started getting random texts in the middle of the night from some guy who thought I was a girl he’d met at a bar. I guess the guy was kind of a pest so she gave him a made up number that just happened to be my number. I tried politely explaining that I was:

a. not a girl

b. definitely not anyone he knows

and

c. trying to sleep because it’s 2am

He seemed to think this was some sort of courtship game and kept messaging me until I finally just told him to fuck off

This scenario kept repeating itself every few weeks apparently whenever he would get drunk and/or horny in the middle of the night

It kept going until one night I finally told him I would meet him somewhere and just went back to sleep

I never heard from him again after that… Maybe he’s still waiting there? 😂

rh4c6f ,

He 100% jerked off to your texts.

MrJameGumb ,

snooggums ,
@snooggums@midwest.social avatar

Did you lnow that most phones make it easy to block numbers?

dojan ,
@dojan@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve learned nothing since I got my first phone and that bad boi didn’t even have a clock.

TachyonTele ,

I’ve always had an android, and never have had a phone that actually blocks a number. All they’ll do is send the call straight to VM.

snooggums ,
@snooggums@midwest.social avatar

The only smartphones I have used are androids and know for sure that after the call goes to voicemail you can click on the call for more options and and block the number. Not sure if it gives the option during the call unless it suspects it is spam. I just double checked on a number that wasn’t in my contacts.

May not be available on every model, but every one I have owned had the block option.

TachyonTele ,

Hm ok, if it’s a two step process that’s probably why. I can definitely see myself thinking the first step was it.

Thankfully I haven’t needed to block anything in awhile, but next time I’ll look into closer. Thanks for the reply.

MonkderDritte ,

Ah no, that’s a Samsung thing (potentially some more) where it is needlessly complicated to block numbers.

Not to shit on everyone’s parade, but Russia is advancing and has been for the last year. At horrendous and by western standard unacceptable losses for sure, but they don’t care about such notions. And as long as they can get ‘leaders’ like Le Pen or Trump elected they will succeed and take whatever they had gained.

We could have made a decisive victory. We chose not to over unwarranted fears and corruption, which makes it all the more infuriating.

nuke ,

zout ,

I would have argued against you a week ago, but since the debate between Biden and Trump one can only hope the democrats come to their senses and withdraw Biden as a candidate (if it isn't too late, I don't know a lot about US politics). If Trump manages to get elected again, he'll help Putin win this war and take credit for ending it.

They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.

I_Has_A_Hat ,

Tbf, we should still be laughing at Columbus. He didn’t prove the Earth was round, we knew that already. He died believing he had “discovered” India. That and he was a racist, baby killing, monster that inflicted such barbaric actions towards the Native Americans that even members of his own crew were like “Whoa there. They might be godless savages, but this is really fucked up. What the fuck is wrong with you?”

lugal ,

He wanted to prove that earth is small enough to sail around it and he that he discovered a path to “India” to his death

JusticeForPorygon ,
@JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.world avatar

He was literally arrested and imprisoned in Spain because of the fucked up shit he did in the Americas. Even the aristocrats thought he was fucked up, which is really saying something.

Krauerking ,

I mean they gave him crappy broken boats to get the asshole out of Europe after he offended most of the monarchies. They essentially gave him the same survival rate as Neil Armstrong and figured it might advance their country the same way. But somehow mister pear with a nipple shaped planet came back and with resources so… Tolerated until they once again couldn’t.

TurboHarbinger , (edited )

Allegedly, and he was released after two months, which makes it seems like it was more a political drama move to remove him (*an Italian) from power on the new discovered lands.

anton ,

Columbus was wrong. He thought the diameter of the earth was much smaller that the common estimate at the time which turned out close to the actual value.
