Yea being a cna is tough and underpaid. My ex is one, takes a couple months of study and passing a test. I, with a highschool degree made 6 dollars more than her when her job was 3 times tougher. It’s criminal. She worked harder and longer hours in a dangerous place with people who could and would harras and harm her. The harrasment was mental, verbal, physical and sexual as well. Fuck boomers.

Holy hell if you aren’t right. I recall her getting all of those things at her work too and a measly 40 cent raise lul. All those banners and pins and lanyards and little gift bags if tiny hand sanetizers and candy. I think she made like 16 here in cali at the time, I recall hearing there’s a laaw that was gonna be passed or already passed to get them up to like 20 or 21 at the minimum. Crazy to think that’s what mcDonald’s employees earn here now while plenty of cnas in other parts of the state earn less still.

Would it be possible for you to have a Lil pop up letting the people who use the app know? Something like, ‘Hey, if there’s anything you like or don’t like about the app PLEASE let me know I’m listening and want to make it better.’ maybe have it be at the top of any new download patchnotes.

God if that isn’t the truth. We changed from Thryv to rackspace and we went from zero spam to 30 a day and this is AFTER they block a bunch. Waste of my time every day having to go through them.

I found out my ex of 12 years was cheating in a similar matter. For some reason she liked taking screenshot of conversations, I had set up Amazon pictures auto backup on her phone at her request cause she was afraid of losing 16 years of pictures. One day I was looking through the backups cause my phone was also set up and I was looking for an old picture I no longer had on my phone. I ended up finding plenty of screenshot of her texts with an old school boyfriend she had been cheating on me with for almost 2 years. Nothing physical as far as I could tell but I can’t say for certain it didn’t happen, emotional cheating is just as bad for me anyways.
I also saw that some screenshot were from Instagram and I knew her tablet was logged in so I checked and it was all there. Worst part was, that she would often be texting him when we were together doing things and basically telling him she wish she was there. Worst 3 months of my life while I got my ducks in a row so I could leave without issue.

I found out she met him at least twice on her yearly trips back to her home country.

We’re mostly negative on publicly traded companies because their ceo is legally obligated to squeeze blood from a stone or they quite literally will get sued by the shareholders, plenty of examples out there. The exceptions are usually there because the previous owners wrote contracts, etc to help keep the company as it was prior but even then it only works for so long. Check out Ben and Jerry’s and their whole debacle on the subject.

It doesn’t work for state unfortunately and there isn’t an alternative. I also use freetaxusa. Maybe it’s time to start pushing our states to make their own version of the federal site.

All of those things you mentioned are edge cases which you would still be able to handle yourself if they auto filled everything for you.

I use an online tax service which scans my w2 and filles it out. It still gives me the option to edit stuff but I mostly just check to make sure things look good.

Totally agree, sometimes I just need to crop an image and it’s not intuitive at all on the big programs. I’ve found paint 3D is fairly solid and non complex for most simple things one needs to do with images.

In paint 3d it’s open image > click crop button > crop > save. My mom could do it with no problem since the Ui isn’t cluttered with stuff and the crop button is right there.

Sorta related, I’ve talked about humans eating less meat and how vegetarians/vegans have the wrong approach. It’s usually the animal cruilty or eat healthier approach with them, I’ve been saying that to ease people into the vegetarian camp they need to not try to make it a thing.

Baby steps, the way I go about it is I cook my friends delicious food and it just happens to be vegetarian. If you can get them to like a food and want the recipe it’s a win, one less meatless meal they’ll have occasionally. Rice and repeat and hopefully one day they’ll have a handful of meatless meals a week.

I’m Mexican and we have a ton of flavorful vegetarian meals, my personally favorite dish is enchiladas de queso y mole poblano. Im not even vegetarian or vegan, I just decided one day that I should cut some meat out of my diet, after checking what I’m currently eating it turns out I already eat at least 6 meatless meals a week… All cause we just have a lot of really good vegetarian meals in my culture.

Mole poblano enchiladas are really easy.

If you live in a med to large city you should be able to find the Doña Maria Mole Poblano mix in your local grocery store, check their hispanic isle. It comes in a small glass container. If you live in a bigger city I recommend going to a Mexican grocery market and seeing what other brands they have, just pick whatever looks good to you can’t really go wrong and I wouldn’t worry about authenticity with this since there’s literally thousands of variations on Mexican Mole so it’s all authentic in its own way.

OK after that ramble here’s a simple ingredients list.

Main ingredients. Mole Poblano Queso fresco Corn tortillas Onion

Red rice side dish. Rice Tomato paste Tomato bullion Onion Garlic

Garnish/toppings. Onion Queso fresco Cilantro/coriander Sour cream Table cream Sliced onion

With this list in mind you can go ahead and just browse through recipes online and check whatever has similar ingredients.

You wanna prep the sauce first cause it takes a while on low heat to properly smooth out.

The way my family always made them is you warm up the tortilla in a pan until it gets soft, you don’t want to over cook and have them get stiff. All it needs is a couple seconds on high.

Then you chuck em into a smidge of hot oil in another pan, again for only a handful of seconds. 10 or so on each side should be fine depending on how hot the pan is, the key is to not overcook them and have them go stiff.

The you dunk them in the Mole sauce, put them on a plate, add cheese and onion inside to taste and roll em up. Add the garnishes on top and you’re done.

Tbh you could just warm up the tortillas in a pan and skip the oil part completely if you want it healthier. That’s just how my family always did it so that how I do them.

For the red rice just check out Mexican red rice recipe with similar ingredients and you can’t go wrong.

For a non vegetarian version you could also make them out of chicken breast instead. Personally I think just queso fresco is the best, I ommit the onion since I don’t like biting into raw onion but my family prefers it with.

Yea that’s why I prefer vegetarian over vegan. A ton of the classic vegetarian dishes that are amazing rely on dairy and other animal products that aren’t directly meat. From simple things like quesadillas to sopes vegetarianos and enchiladas.

It’s all about spices though, I’m dissaponted in that restaurant. Mole Poblano is quite literally all spices and chilis.

Out of curiosity I googled vegetarian Mexican recipes and I’m a bit disappointed there was non of the classics that I cook on the top pages. It’s a lot of nuvegetarian recipes, which there’s nothing wrong with but they all seemed sorta samey.

Damn that’s unfortunate. I had my 2023 Honda for over a year and a bit over 20k miles. Been lucky so far that everything works fine, I’ve driven it up a mountain a couple times when I’ve gone camping too.
