Damn… Lucky.

Krauerking ,

Dying at work is the end they want for their workers. Especially if there’s a pension.

I see you have also read Boeing’s retirement study and plan.

Credit card debt is soaring, especially in these cities (thehill.com)

Using data from the Census Bureau, TransUnion and the Federal Reserve, the study’s authors looked at inflation-adjusted household debt in the country’s largest 181 cities found Santa Clarita, California to have the highest average household credit card debt ($21,836), followed by Chula Vista, CA ($20,920), New York, NY...

Krauerking ,

Honestly. Probably not as big a deal as we would hope. America rubs in debt. It’s the economic battery that’s used to power the purchasing power of the nation itself even if it’s not a great idea it does hyper charge the government of oligarchs pretty well.

And, with massive soars in Cost Of Living I would bet it’s mostly by the same percentages that the debt is raising even if it’s closer to real inflation and not the lower stated values.

People are incentivized to spend beyond their means cause the forever debt feels cheaper than paying for it up front which makes you then a consistent battery of debt paying back more as you hopefully hit peak production.

The problem for sure is that there is no exit on the other side. And with astronomical costs and no clear way to exit the debt likely you end up to old and still fucked.

The debt is a feature not a bug but will absolutely cause instability if not checked. This might still not be truly in the red yet though.

Krauerking ,

Yeah all the flowers are on the inside of a fig. That’s actually more or less the fruit you eat too, a bunch of sweet flowers compressed in a pod. Figs are super weird.

Krauerking ,

Nah don’t worry I had listeria 3 times and milk was only one of them. You got to worry about caramel apples and hummus just as much.

Also don’t get listeria I had a seizure while vomiting while taking a physics final and got yelled at for it in college. It’s just not a fun time.

Krauerking ,

Yeah and told to finish the test. I also had a professor who let me take a final while bleeding after I was hit by a car on my bike on the way to class.

Both times I did not do particularly well.
I honestly think modern professors just don’t care anymore, or expect 19 year olds to be way more mature and competent than they are.

My life was, and is, a train wreck.

Krauerking ,

I once got caught up in a game of dodge the cactus that I mistakenly thought was “catch” the cactus and proceeded to try to figure out how to get the needles out of both of my hands face and mouth.

I decided on sprite for the ones in my mouth by gargling it.

I once also made homemade root beer let it ferment to long so it was alcoholic and got a bunch of other kids drunk at school. This barely scratches the surface, and doesn’t include the forest fires or all the times hit by trains and boats.

Anyways, yeah a recap of my life would be a wild watch. If you really do have your life flash before your eyes at the end I am gonna need some popcorn for this feature film.

Krauerking ,

Hahaha my Japanese instructor in university was not particularly good at his job and when I told him I was planning to drop he told me I shouldn’t cause the class would just get easier as it went.

When it was past the drop period he confided in me that he was actually only trained in Chinese but the kanji was about the same so was filling in until the school could find a real Japanese instructor and that he only needed a few more hours for tenure and if I had dropped he wouldn’t have had enough students in the class for the hours to count…

I think Universities are broken just from the level of economic and social stress making people just be less involved in their work and more in themselves.

It’s easier to keep the mill grinding than to stop and make sure it’s working properly.

Krauerking , (edited )

Honestly I really should just be locked away for everyone’s, and my own, safety.

I was one of the original patients that spread swine flu in the US in 2009 after a trip to Mexico. I now have vaccines for everything from yellow fever to typhoid cause I thought I might spread it too.

My stories should probably be in a leather bound book of things not to do that people argue whether or not it’s allegorical when it says “do not trust the boy who brings back diseased cloth for all his friends”

Edit: same vacation I broke 6 ribs falling off a cruiseship and had to be rescued by the Mexican coast guard actually.
Train wreck.

Krauerking ,

LOL it always the hot garbage that I’m shocked I managed to find that I try to seed as long as possible almost as an apology for making someone else have to host it to give it to me.

But I will say sometimes it’s just a bad quality and it’s hard to figure out if it’s worth keeping it around because it’s the only version available or letting it die.

Krauerking ,

I meant like 480p with an encoding error that makes it not able to be fast forwarded without crashing.

It that being the only way to watch it without hunting down a VHS kinda thing

Krauerking ,

What a cool visualization of a mean curve.

Also love the outlier of 100 that you kinda can immediately guess what’s happening.

Krauerking ,

Made me feel weak! Called me "below average! Can you believe it?!

Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are surging "faster than ever" to beyond anything humans ever experienced, officials say (www.cbsnews.com)

One of the major drivers of the exceptional heat building within Earth’s atmosphere has reached levels beyond anything humans have ever experienced, officials announced on Thursday. Carbon dioxide, the gas that accounts for the majority of global warming caused by human activities, is accumulating “faster than ever,”...

Krauerking ,

I think that’s a nice idea of a statement like Jesus loving you unconditionally.

Not helpful really and probably not exactly true.

Krauerking ,

Usually it’s a badly designed heat sink that’s meant to cause an eventual short so that it has to be replaced. Or just shoddy low material builds. LEDs really can last an obscene amount of time and they don’t die another part does.

Krauerking ,

I will add in that adding some cheap meat and some cheap veggies of any kind to stretch a meal absolutely makes it way more filling and can let you get second and 3rd meals from it.

Also potatoes are insane. I tossed a few under a bush during the winter and just realized I see their sprouts coming out from underneath it in several spots. And a single potato I tried to purposefully grow is wildly outperforming the basil I’m trying to grow. A bowl and some straw could probably grow these things with a little water and fertilizer.

Krauerking ,

I have pretty much taken to making my own stuff to save money and bread is way easier than you think if you are ok with it not being super special but with some money saved they can get a little more fun. I just recently did little buns with mustard and onion powder that was way better than burger buns from the store for way cheaper.

Literally yeast water salt and flour is enough to make pizza dough. If you have a jar of active dry yeast it will last forever it feels and if you just put some in a new jar with some water and flour you can just keep it growing forever and literally not bother buying more. Then sauce and cheese and throw it on a pan you had preheating in the oven.

And milk that’s starting to sour you should absolutely try to make into a quick cheese or something cause it’s likely not bad just chemically changing. Just a little vinegar and you can make cheese or if you are baking use it instead of water and the sour flavor actually helps them taste better.

Chive pancakes can also be made cheap and be a nice thing to make a lot of freeze and use as a filling snack/side.

Krauerking ,

You can use them to make bread actually. And thicken a soup. Some of my favorite ways to hide them. And that should help disperse whatever is happening with them.

I think you might have a gastro issue with them. Potatoes are so high in basically everything that they can upset your stomach, and it not be a grease thing. Unless you are getting really grean skinned potatoes full of solanine you might actually be best using them sparingly.

You could look into yams. Sweeter but usually still cheap and pretty darn healthy. I would also say grow peas or green beans. They sprout in days and will harvest for month/s.

Unfortunately if you struggle with potatoes you might also struggle with eggplant that also tends to be cheap.

If you have zucchini I love to just cut them in half and scoop out some of the inside center and mix that with breadcrumbs and sauce and some cheese put it back in the zucchini boat and bake them. They store well and are pretty filling.

I get food insecurity. I once had to feed my whole family on the budget of just my paper route because of a drunk Mom. It’s not fun. But if you let me know what is cheap around you maybe we can figure out something if you want.

Krauerking ,

LOL just wanted to see if there was anything special about Idaho I guess. But nah it’s how we bred the potatoes. As long as it’s cool enough they will grow anywhere.

Krauerking ,

The taste and texture makes my stomach do somersaults.

Haha alright that’s a new one but I get it. Scalloped potatoes are awesome though just layers of potatoes and onion and some milk and spices baked until tender. Can add anything to them and it’s hard to be certain what the flavor is after it all melds together.

But I hope you try and enjoy the potato bread. I love it and do it for simple grilled cheese sandwiches cause is pretty filling.

I wish you all the best luck and hope you get the chance to make some zucchini bread soon and good crop yield!

Krauerking ,

So, I’d say there is some slight issue with replacing all decision makers with AI cause Walmart and Amazon does it for employee efficiency. It means the staff are micro managed and treated like machines the same way the computer is.

Walmart employees are moved around the floor like roombas to never interact with each other and no real availability for customers to get someone. Warehouse workers are overworked by bullshit ideas of efficiency.

Now I get that it could be fixed by having the AI systems designed to be more empathetic but who is choosing how they are programmed? The board still?

We just need good bosses who still interact with their employees on their level. We don’t need AI “replacing” anyone pretty much anywhere, but can be used as a helpful tool.

Krauerking ,

I actually stopped being friends with my college friends because of online games.

They literally would have me buy a game to play 30 minutes of it, get bored and then demand we play League of Legends or Valorant if they wanted to try and hit on girls in voice chat. They literally complain about how broke they are either living with their parents or in an apartment wlthey can barely afford and showed me how they spent at least $10k on League skins each over the years.

I just can’t throw away money like they do and never did. Plus the incel like behavior and really awful things they say while getting upset if you make fun of them at all has this air of delicate mentality that can’t handle any kind of stress even if it’s figuring out a new game made me want nothing to do with them.

So now I play single player games again or stardew because my SO only plays it.

Krauerking ,

Because when I decide to play multiplayer I end up playing stardew with someone I enjoy spending time with?

Gosh I really thought the concept of whipped was dead though so thanks for that blast to precovid past.

Krauerking ,

It had nothing to do with the SO.

And I’m already past a few years. Can’t wait to see what part of statistics of men you end up being.

Edit: also what do you get in life being a jackass to others?

Krauerking ,

You sure are being awfully touchy on the subject for someone not getting any action.

Krauerking ,

By the way I don’t have to laugh off your shitty attempts at being “funny” I can also rightfully call you the jackass you are and fuck off.

Don’t be a douche to others for your own amusement. Or do and expect to be told you’re being a cunt.

Krauerking ,

Pshh they know they can’t. Pyramids are just a conspiracy from big government.

Only triangles exist and they know it. Have you ever seen all “4 sides”? Huh? What about the 5th side? Does that even exist? And wouldn’t that make it a square?

Remember, I am not obtuse, don’t isosce-late me from the truth! We are right!

Krauerking ,

Hey!

I’m sure they at least read the abstract, that has to count for something.

Krauerking ,

You are just scared of needing another.
Let love, and Megamouth, into your home.

Krauerking ,

I think I have only seen one, once and I stood in the middle of a busy sidewalk looking up trying to figure out if anyone else saw the giant iridescent shifting rainbow in the sky.

You could only see it where the clouds were and they were so thin it felt like staring at the sun.

I definitely get the term fire rainbow. Shame its so rare. Really cool.

Krauerking ,

Oh that’s funny. I still see these things installed in some buildings but it’s not like I ever saw anyone bother with the “premium water” but also now sodastream is getting in on it for I think a higher cost actually…

Ugh. Please let this whole concept of selling tap water die.

Krauerking ,

I help setup ad placement TVs for resort style businesses.

Studied theoretical astrophysics and astro xenobiology as a double advanced major…

My boss used to brag he managed to get the astronaut in his team so, I am useful for facts and puzzles.

God I hate my existence.

Krauerking ,

LOL I hate those TVs too but don’t mind when I get to install like just a good menu or informational directory. Key word good. But I’m just supposed to make a thing that works and looks good for the 11 seconds of your attention we expect to have of you.

The worst part is that I don’t even make good money really. Just slightly more than a regular office job and I got here from doing my passion at the time of advanced robotic screens. But they are all hyper niches that are like impossible to move around or within.

But yeah gotta figure out what fulfilling means these days.

Krauerking , (edited )

We just aren’t all seeing that it’s worth it to rip all the material out of the planet. Craft it a great expense into complex machines and burn our very ancestors for fuel.

So that a speech to text bot that takes imagined assumptions at exponentially more power can write an email that could be done by a person who could also do more complex tasks or hell even fetch a coffee.

Tech bros just trying to figure out why it’s a good thing to get rid of people they just don’t like from being around them and make it seem like a good thing. And I say that as someone that likes tech and often doesn’t like people.

This is so stupid.

Krauerking ,

What services by the way?

I tried looking and it seems the company that owns the website is basically an Ad company that got bought out by a different SEO and Ad company that’s owned by Matt Buchanan and Jesse Biter who originally focused on car sales.

Seems it’s more just an in industry plant site meant to just be a place for people who like to make money to talk about money things that can have articles they can point to, to back their statements but that’s it.

Krauerking ,

Few tricks.

  1. Card services actually get a small fee per transaction from the retailer so they just get paid every time you use their card which can add up.
  2. If you fail to pay off the balance for any reason they can charge generally a 20%+ compounding interest that for most people is probably closer to 27-30% and quickly replaces the minimal cash back.
  3. Spending habits and ability to sell the data to other card/loan providers and advertisers can help generate additional revenue. Think maybe you consider them trustworthy and they offer a car loan for $30,000 and you take it happily without looking around to find out they have a much higher interest rate on it and they get an extra couple grand from you.
Krauerking ,

Walmart offers it too. They really are pushing the app lately too which offers a few companies so you can max out one and use another.

Krauerking ,

Well if the business is raising its prices on all products because of card processers then you would be the fool paying for it without getting the 5% back.

They get their money mostly from interest rates and other means. It doesn’t mean stores don’t occasionally raise prices because of processing fees but that’s not part of some grand conspiracy.

Krauerking ,

Sezzle and Affirm now too. Also Four, Afterpay and whatever that like weird Amazon sponsored one is that sorts is Amazon pay but isn’t.

There are a fucking lots of buy now, pay later apps these days.

Also side note: And yeah the credit debt is actually in check because it’s kinda the battery that powers the economy of the United States.
As long as people can still make minimum payments that is.

But seriously it has the spending power as a country as it does mostly because of the sorta guaranteed debt payments from the general populace. It’s why it loves people that generate huge debts and pays them back poorly. People like Trump and just upper middle class putting 10s-100s of thousands on debt are viewed as financially great for a reason.

Krauerking ,

What? Nothing you said doesn’t change the fact that what you think is happening isn’t.

I truly don’t even understand what this is trying to say.

Krauerking ,

Oh for sure it’s a super unstable bad idea but it works really well for a short time for those at the top. We really are just riding that edge out of hubris from those in charge.

Krauerking ,

It’s wild that clouds in space just look like… Clouds.

And yet it’s as large as a solar system or more.

The ugly truth behind ChatGPT: AI is guzzling resources at planet-eating rates (www.theguardian.com)

Despite its name, the infrastructure used by the “cloud” accounts for more global greenhouse emissions than commercial flights. In 2018, for instance, the 5bn YouTube hits for the viral song Despacito used the same amount of energy it would take to heat 40,000 US homes annually....

Krauerking ,

*than

Krauerking ,

You ever think you project a lot on others?

Krauerking ,

They do this “I’m taking the high road” after saying incredibly rude and directly insulting things and responds as if the upset people are wrong.

I truly don’t know if they are confused why their tactic isn’t working or is just a very deeply seated self absorbed individual, and thinks of themselves as truly the only person that can be correct with zero nuance.

Krauerking ,

And crypto bros somehow think that this means they are buying energy… But you can’t get it back after it’s burned.
