She was 5 months old when we got her.
She had like 3 foster families I believe, we have no idea if she was properly separated from her mom or not, and what happened during that time.
Most likely something happened to her that caused some kind of fear.
My younger one also had some rough “childhood”. History is, he got into my car, the bottom of it inside the protective plastics. I was at work and couldn’t for the hell of it remove the cat. So I had to drive home, where with the help of my brother I lifted the car and had to remove those plastics to be able to rescue him. (I drove 40km with him scared always meowing, rough ride).
Took him right away to a vet to see if there was something he needed care with, had just a burn in his tail which I got medicine for.
Nowadays he’s scared very easily and hate visits. Though he’s the sweetest cat, even allows me to pet his belly. But that’s why I guessed that he already had some history.
/r/Place has always had massive country flags whenever it ran. But the way I see it, the largest murals need the most people working on it, and getting many people involved means having them all be connected in some way, and country-of-origin is the easiest way to do that. Combine that with the fact that the biggest non-English communities on western social media like Reddit (and Lemmy too, now) tend to be German or French, and it's no surprise that the two largest murals are those flags.
You'd wish people would find something else to represent them and have fun with things like this, but people gravitate towards the largest groups they feel a part of. Low hanging fruit, I suppose.
These police departments are given tons of tax payer money to protect and serve the people.
With the level of training and resources available, it shouldn’t be asking too much to expect these criminals to face a fair legal process and an opportunity to be rehabilitated. Not put down like a rabid animal. Shoot them with bear tranquilizer or something. Also, technology is amazing these days. They could surely invest their bloated budgets to find something better than a bullet to bring somebody into custody.
To a certain degree though, it was a fuck around and find out moment. The driver was operating a deadly weapon (a car), and the police officers warned him to stop, he didn’t, and got shot. Nobody is to blame here aside from the driver.

It’s one misguided poster spamming the shit out of a bunch of instances, but this post itself seems to imply a more widespread problem.

Why not just downvote that asshat’s content and move on? It doesn’t contribute, you allegedly don’t care, why post to complain about complaints?
I get it - complaints about complaints, the ‘Inception’ of discourse, right? 😄 My aim was less ‘moan-fest’, more ‘awareness-raising’. But I see how it could have come off as one more tiresome rant. Point taken.
Downvoting? Sure, it’s a tool, but it feels like trying to empty an ocean with a bucket. As a community, can’t we aim higher? Maybe introduce more efficient levers? Let’s not just ‘downvote and move on’, let’s ‘upvote and move up’. Let’s brainstorm and pull this platform to greater heights.
Not to mention, as long as the post in question is in a relevant community, downvoting it out of annoyance feels weird to me. That is not what the buttons are for. I've seen several posts I didn't personally like, but not wanting to see them doesn't make them worthless to anyone else and all those are communities are for generalized topics.

That’s what I was gonna say, the blackout ended on the 14th and then spez did his ama so I feel like that might’ve been the push people needed to make the change.
