In college I was paid to take people on trips, and trip with them. One thing I did that made a big difference for people was buy a box of cheap wayfarer sunglasses that were all different colors.
After picking yours out (which was a group building exercise that led to serious discussions about color) if you wanted everyone would refer to you as Mr blue or ms green based on the glasses you wore.
It’s amazing how much more willing you are to interact with the world while tripping when you have cool sunglasses on and your crew is doing the reservoir dogs thing.
Sounds like someone who’s never called the police for something like this. More likely than not they’ll tell you it’s a civil matter and they can’t do anything without a court order.
I’ll be going in front of a venture capital roundtable tomorrow with my idea for Squatter.home, a web site where you can find unoccupied properties and occupy them for a VERY reasonable finder’s fee.
I think it was Britain that recently made headway on changing their housing laws to put a halt on Airbnb screwing up the economy on people who need homes. Canada are just catching up to it. in some places in Canada there are 7 empty houses to each homeless person. They are just changing the laws now. Even people who have jobs can’t afford a home. It’s so absolutely stupid airbnb went unchecked.
Same for Malaysia. Lot and lot of highrise are build for exactly this purpose. High cost, “luxury” looking design, and boasting a “mall” just below the highrise. The result is a tons of dead mall, empty apartments, empty house, and unaffordable housing.
The government then regulate it, where they allow these place to continue to run but only on “commercial building”, which mean only on these highrise build for the purpose of short term renting. It still doesn’t solve the fundamental issue but at least we have law to combat these.
Because good is an entirely subjective measure. Ask a 5 year old what the best tv show is and you’ll get a different answer than if you asked a professional critic. There have been loads of shows since X-Files ended that are entertaining and have engaging characters. It’s okay to have a favorite.

I get it everybody has different tastes, that doesn’t mean cooking can be of various levels of quality. Just because you like tamales and i prefer borito doesn’t mean there is good and bad attempts at both. However you would expect the frequency of well made boritos to be more or less constant over time. With the 5 year old at least you know whatever they’ll say is genuinely the best show available to them for their age bracket. A lot of the critics’ opinions just don’t add up.
I’ll be honest, I’m not really sure what you’re getting at with the food analogy.
Your question is like asking ‘Why hasn’t there been another good band since Green Day?’ Some people don’t think they are a good band, some people like them but think other stuff is way better, ect. Again, because good is a subjective measure and (artistic) taste really isn’t quantifiable.
OMG, Dark! I pride myself on being the one that found and introduced this show to all my friends, who now all agree that it is the best time travel story ever told.
Now the question is, captions or dubs? Most people who watched it are hardline Captionists, but my wife hates reading dialogue so we watched with dubs. I think they did a great job with them.
I’ve used it for pulled chicken for a soup. I believe the instructions said boil, but I pressure cook/steam it for a few mins then add it into the muchbmore flavorful soup. Though I just as often just use canned chicken breast instead.
Only thing I’ve ever done that for, since I love chicken to have a browned somewhat firm to crunchy crust, depending on which cut it is.
Definitely boiled, looks identical to the chicken my coworker brought in once. She boiled every piece of meat within an inch of its life because she didn’t know how to prepare it otherwise.
You couldn’t pay me to take a taxi again, Uber can get as expensive as they want (Eventually it’ll start to be cheaper to just rent a car for the day lmao)
Here where I am from, we use an app called FreeNow. Works like a charm. I use taxi almost every day. For me, each € matters. Believe me, Uber is outrageous here.
Ah well the Taxi scene is a little different in the EU (At least the few countries I’ve been too), it’s been a pleasant experience, nice modern streamlined process, although I’ve never had a chance to use a EU taxi outside the big city, so it might be a similar experience in those cases as the US
I’ll still take an Uber because I’m an average drunk and I don’t want to be behind the wheel (you don’t want me there either). I’ll walk 10 miles before I take a taxi though.
