I use both without an account. Relay is down to checking /r/all in the evening for a little bit and even that is already apparently at 48 calls, meaning I had to pay 2 bucks for just that casual scrolling alone. lol
Infinity is good because you can create a home feed with subscribed subs without having an account. I use that for news and Ukraine related stuff, as well as the odd game related sub. I was thinking of doing the custom api key thing but that requires an account and is kind of a hassle. I also doubt they keep that open for too long.
Yes, say there are 2^33 people for illustrations sake, by 33 decisions you (the first puller) are guaranteed to be dead too. At 32 it’s 50/50, the odds increase as the decisions get made. From a self preservation standpoint the best thing you can do to minimize your personal risk is pull the lever. It also happens to kill the fewest other people.
On the one hand, the possibility exists that the buck gets passed forever, especially as the kill count numbers grow substantially making the impermissibility of allowing the deaths grow with it. It’s not likely the any given person would kill one stranger, let alone millions.
On the other hand, in an infinite series, even something with miniscule odds will still eventually inevitably happen, and some psycho will instantly become the most infamous murderer in history, followed immediately by the person that didn’t just kill one person and end the growth before it started.

American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine®, Ahead of Print.
Background: Despite documented benefits of Advance Care Planning (ACP), it is still under-utilized in the U.S. Our study aimed to examine whether experiencing a loved one’s death is associated with one’s own ACP behavior among adults in the U.S. and the potential moderating effect of age. Method: Using a nationwide cross-sectional survey design with probability sampling weights, our study included 1006 adults in the U.S. who participated in and completed the Survey on Aging and End-of-Life Medical Care. Three binary logistic regression models were established to investigate the relationship between death exposure and different aspects of ACP (i.e., informal conversations with family members and doctors and formal advance directives completion). The moderation analysis was subsequently conducted to examine moderating effects of age. Results: The exposure to a loved one’s death was significantly associated with higher odds of having conversations with family about end-of-life medical care preferences among the 3 indicators of ACP (OR = 2.03, P < .001). Age significantly moderated the association between death exposure and ACP conversations with doctors (OR = .98, P = .017). The facilitation effect of death exposure on informal ACP engagement in discussing end-of-life medical wishes with doctors is stronger among younger adults than older adults. Conclusions: Exploring an individual’s previous experience with a loved one’s death might be an effective way to broach the concept of ACP among adults of all ages. This strategy may be particularly useful in facilitating discussions of end-of-life medical wishes with doctors among younger adults than older adults.

So, right now I’m trying the system crontab instead of my user crontab.
Just to reiterate from my post, however, I have tried the full path. I was giving example paths. I should have been more explicit that by just “using dot” I meant using relative and absolute paths.
All paths have been full paths from the get go, though I did try cd-ing into the folder and running it with a relative path. My hope at this point is that it’s somehow a permissions issue as my storage setup is a bit odd with TrueNAS Scale running as a VM on ProxMox. Permissions with docker are usually hell, and I have to run literally everything that touches my NAS as root to get the permissions to play nicely, so it would make sense here that it’s just the permissions being upset and preventing access to the files.
I set a backup to run on the hour, so I’ll report back with whatever happens.

This does make sense. The biggest Shanna vulnerability is being targetted by Killmonger before the game ends, though for me particularly I always found the tightness of space to be a large constraint, especially considering a possible Dazzler. That also makes her somewhat Surfer viable, though maybe an odd mix.
Honestly, I think he did what worked for him before. He came in like a tornado, shook things up, and then tried to fall back on the people he depends on. Those people weren’t there because they thought he was ruining what they built (former twitter guy and the other peeps). Also, he was forced to buy at a higher price so he’s constantly desperate which he isn’t used to, so he’s acting from a different place. Now he’s trying to pick up the pieces from a loud fail that he also isn’t used to with no PR, because he’s now convinced that the odds are always in his favor even when they’re are going to be a percentage of fails 100% of the time. He’s fucked up basically and hasn’t in awhile, and has no one to blame so he’s imploding.
The irony here is that Starship Troopers is pretty damn fashy, and a lot of the manosphere leans in that direction as well. So it does ring true, in an odd way.
Forgetting to put the actual recipient in the TO filed is such a weird mistake too. You got all the CCs, but ignored the TO?
I get that shit happens, but its not like it was a complex email they drafted several times and wanted to make sure it wasent sent by mistake. Its whole contents was “oops, our bad. Can you send us an invoice and well get this sorted out.” Why did they not hit “reply all” like a sane person for something that mundane?
Its just so weird, and honestly is either made up, or points to odd workflows and more sloppy processes, even over on the buisness side.
Right, but that doesn’t mean your precautions were worthless. Even if you are eventually going to catch it, delaying the infection reduces how much it can spread and means fewer people get it at the same time (reducing the impact). Some of these precautions will also reduce the severity of the illness, which is a huge win for you personally! Of course none of these precautions are perfect, but they’re still helpful and limit the damage caused by the pandemic.
You’re probably already well aware of this, of course! I’ve just seen a bunch of people saying things like “well I did X and I still got sick, so we shouldn’t do X”, which I don’t think is the right conclusion for something that impacts the entire population. There’s billions of dice rolls in this equation, and you got some bad luck (I’m sorry you got sick :( ), but I think you still gave yourself better odds and improved the odds for everybody else as well, which is great!
I think we should do those things but just that doing all of the stuff isn’t a guarantee. It just betters your odds. I did all we were recommended and got hit with it, meanwhile a friend of mine did none of the recommended things (almost the opposite) and hasn’t got it so far. Lucy bastard.
Would you say this about anyone else? Dogs? Cats? Anything at all?
What an odd comparison, given that pets are crated and put in (a warm/pressurized part of) the cargo bay. Is that better then hiding under a seat or the overhead bin? It seems about the same to me.
But there are also tons of people who've been plenty pleased with those games, as you can see on the long tails of their sales and how many concurrent players they retain to this day. You're the odd one out on those heavy hitters. Not so much on 76, and to a lesser extent, 4.
I’d like to interject that it’s not necessarily the evidence that mixed, but its interpretation. The same data can be taken two different ways.
I just finished reading a link (wish I kept the url) that argued trans woman runners still outperform cis women by 12% after 2 years of hormones, pointing out the competitive requirements are only 1 year of hormones. Only in the subtleties do you find that their metrics for performance did not just involve running speed (but included push-ups), and that the underlying research admitted in conclusions that they were likely over-rating the trans women’s competitiveness…
One of the things that I read somewhere that REALLY stuck with me is this. There will always be an "evidence-based "argument to attack trans atheletes so long as there is at least one trans athelete that is outperforming cis atheletes. If trans women are equivalent to cis women, then the real answer is that it should be even (weighted obviously) odds that the best in the world would be trans or cis… but what we seek to validate “fairness” is that no trans athelete ever actually rises to the top. Because if they do, it must have been their gender advantage.

I mean yes and no, some studies don't find evidence of competitive advantage. Some do. So, yes I agree that interpretations are mixed, but also evidence, between studies. And then interpretations of the entire body of evidence are mixed, but I personally don't think that those interpretations are of much relevance, this is a discussion that has to happen at a more granular level of each sport.

I actually think I've seen that one, yeah. One of the reasons I mention "what kind of strength", and how that's going to differ for each sport. But yeah, in that case, an exclusion period of two years, is not unreasonable at highly competitive levels.

Yeah, I agree 100% here. We should expect a roughly proportional number of transgender women to be successful.
But literally any single example of a transgender women succeeding is enough to have people crying "but they're a man!". Because, for a lot of people, they really just wanted to call trans women men, the whole sports thing is mostly just pretense.
To be fair I haven’t had a Nvidia card in about 4 years.
So things could have changed, but over the preceding 15 odd years, no other thing caused me more issues than Nvidia drivers. But I put up with it, that is what you had to do to get good graphics.
The AMD GPU I have now, has been great, no issues at all. I had chipset issues mainly on the new laptop.
In Xi’s case laws needed to be changed to give him the ability to run a third time. IMO moving towards a more authoritarian state is never going to result in a move towards socialism as it further entrenches power in an elite.
Authoritarianism (rule by authority) isn’t a valid concept (by which manner of authority? the authority of which class?). All societies are ruled by blind authority, but the status quo asserts itself as natural and everything against it becomes “authoritarian.” The immediate aim of the liquidation of the national bourgeoisie’s political power taken up by the dictatorship of the proletariat is not in any sense removed from bourgeois power elsewhere. This point manifests itself in the consideration of the state of the press, which has more and more become a close link between the capitalist class at large, a class that retains a political dictatorship over the majority of developed nations and several national dictatorships over their respective colonial shares of maldeveloped nations. Owing to the supreme authority of the world bourgeoisie, the proletarian masses who have consolidated political power domestically must suppress the siege on their delicate rule internationally. There are more prisoners per-capita and in total in the U.S. than in China, not to mention the clear difference in ownership of the factors of production, and yet this “authoritarianism” comes up again and again in rhetoric
I explained the term limit change in my other reply to you [link]. There is no possible way to categorize this as “authoritarian” or “entrenching power in the elite.”
This is an extreme non-reply. Leadership in the DPRK is diffused (explanation below). You never explain how “the state seems to work to perpetuate [hereditary succession, although succession is complex, as I already mentioned with the diffusion of power from Kim Il Sung].”
The fact that there were historical justifications made for Kim Il Sung to pass it to his son is meaningless.
Actually it explains the reason why voters might follow this pattern, and of course nothing in the article I wrote was addressed. As for “hereditary monarchy claims”, Kim Jong Un is General Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea, and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission. These positions are elected by the WPK Party Congress and by the Supreme People’s Assembly respectively.
Sidenote: parties are elected by the people every five years (under the DFRF), the WPK isn’t permanently leading [other parties include the KSDP and the CCP]
If Kim Jong Un didn’t wish to continue to hold his positions, one of the Vice-Chairpersons would take his place temporarily, and a successor would be discussed and elected at the next party conference, also likely a Vice-Chairperson. For example, Kim Jong Il was elected into the Party Central Committee in the 70’s, and in 1974 was elected as the successor to Kim Il Sung. Jang Song-Thaek was elected to succeed Kim Jong Il, however, he wanted to reform certain areas, thus debate regarding his intentions and whether he was a revisionist or not ensued; the party then switched and had Kim Jong Un succeed Kim Jong Il. Jang Song-Thaek then staged a coup in an attempt to consolidate power by force (confirming his intentions were not pure and that he was likely a revisionist in the intent of his “reform”). He was executed thereafter. It’s important to mention Jang Song-Thaek to show that a successor to Chairman of the SAC doesn’t have to be a direct child of the former. So, if Kim Jong Un were to retire, or wish to discontinue his positions, it would be somebody in the Politburo, or a Vice-Chairperson of the State Affairs Commission, to succeed him. However, there currently isn’t an elected successor appointed, because likely odds are that he isn’t retiring or dying in the near future. Kim Jong Un is not actually in total control of the DPRK; the Supreme People’s Assembly has, by far, the extreme majority of control over the latter. Kim Jong Un has never been in either the Supreme People’s Assembly or its respective Standing Committee. Premier is the second top rank within the SPA, currently held by Kim Jae Ryong [not related]. President of the Standing Committee (Presidium) is the top position within the SPA, a position held by Kim Yong-Nam [not related] until April 2019, where Choe Ryong-Hae thereafter was elected. That isn’t to say that Kim Jong Un holds no power within the DPRK, but anyone within the SPA certainly has more legislative authority. Each person within the SPA, including Premier and Head of the Presidium, is elected (and thus their power is temporary and can be removed at any time). The closest thing to a dictatorship (so to speak) in the DPRK is the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, a determining class dictatorship of the majority which governs the state. The only of the Kim family members (remember this is a common Korean surname, I am referring to the lineage of Kim Il Sung) to have an SPA position was Kim Il Sung, and he abolished his position. The “next in line” leader in the WPK is likely not to be a descendant of Kim Il Sung either.
Went to a restaurant in LA today and when I got the check I noticed that it was a bit higher than it should be. Then I noticed this 18% service charge. So… We, as customers, need to help pay for their servers instead of the owners paying their servers a living wage. And on top of that they have suggested tip. I called bs on...
I just mean to say that what people SAY they want, at least online, (better pay/benefits for employees, no more tipping) is at odds with what they actually expect and will tolerate to see on the menu. This is done in a very shitty, maybe even illegal way, but it does draw the direct line from the higher cost of the food to the higher pay for the staff.
They also have the tip option which adds an even further layer of BS to it.
Im not supporting this in any way but it is a way to break it down for customers to show them without tips this is how much extra it would be.
