I assumed this was leftover April fool stuff. Does he really look that good all the sudden? I swear he was just photographed for another story within the last couple months that he looked the same in.
The day every game I play can be played on Linux is the day I swap. I used to have a dual boot setup but honestly it was just easier to only use one OS and the one I use the most ends up being the one that supports my main hobby the most.
It’s unfortunate that such a compromise has to be made.
Awesome! That would mean that family sharing finally works like I thought it would work. No more tears because I started a game while the kid was playing another one.
Please God no. Valve is the only video game company I have any respect for. If they sell out, there will be nobody left. It’s a terribly sad time for video games at the moment, and I’ve been playing them for 40 years.
Well, CD Projekt had the entire Cyberpunk launch fiasco and ID is now a part of Bethesda who basically ruined their IPs so I can see how you could lose respect for them
True, but my reference was for all the past work. You can appreciate the past and condemn the present products, its not like they committed a crime that they have to be unrecognised.
Sony be losing their marrbles if they think PC player’s won’t disarrm this requirement quite arrbitrarily. The adventures of snarrling Kratos and his charrge Atreiu in Asgarrd will be played on PC with or without this farrce.
Also, I must also apologize for my grammarr. I find arrticulating parrticularly harrd.
Yesterday, the developers of Garry's Mod, the 2006 Source engine sandbox game, announced on Steam that due to a takedown request from Nintendo, they were removing all the Steam Workshop (i.e; user-generated) content that used Nintendo's IP. Some originally believed that this was a troll of some sort posing as Nintendo, but this screenshot tweet from Garry Newman, the titular developer of Garry's Mod, indicates that he's certain the takedown request is legitimate, and the probably-still-ongoing removal of Nintendo content on the workshop will continue.
What happens if my brother gets banned for cheating while playing my game?
If a family member gets banned for cheating while playing your copy of a game, you (the game owner) will also be banned in that game. Other family members are not impacted.
A thousand times this. I’d even be for a button to add whitelist for games they wanna play. I am super sensitive about Mr acc, and the last thing is having a ban on record. Especially when I had to spend 10 years with a trade probation because my dumb ass duped some items on TF2.
Yes there is. You can just make another account for yourself and add it to the family, then use it to cheat. That’s the reason why they have to ban both.
I kinda hope they grant the ability to block some games from being shared. I trust my kids not to use cheats, but I can understand being a bit paranoid from being banned from a game you really enjoy and not wanting to take a chance.
Definitely considering this one, it looks like Pokémon flavoured Ark. Ark is incredible but also hot garbage and player experience hostile (micro raptors? Ichtheyornis? Pegomastix? The fuck outta here) not to mention the insane bugs that are just completely ignored for years… Something similar from a different studio is pretty appealing
There’s a lot of other parodies/references to other games in there too, like a dungeon entrance that looks almost exactly like an elden ring evergoal circle :p
Maybe not the game for you if your hatred of ark comes from bugs lol. This game is fun but very jank and buggy which makes arks mechanics look like a masterpiece in comparison and I’m no ark fan.
Seems friendlier than ark though. Ark will just bug out and remove your favourite creature from existence permanently. Or just kill you and every creature you own by having terribly balancing. I’ve fallen through the world in palworld but it just pops you out at your homebase with your gear and your pals.
Okay so “very” may be a bit too forceful of a word. There are bugs, though they are fairly mild to medium at worst. The most common ones are pathing issues on base, the rare humanoid enemy getting stuck under ground, and some hitbox-related problems that are easily circumvented. The biggest issue which the devs are aware of is multiplayer save game corruption and they’ve released a guide on backing up saves as a temporary bandaid. In all, this is a rather impressive release and should improve rapidly. MUCH worse games with heavier budgets have been released in the last year alone.
I mean the dude literally said he hated ark because of bugs so very is putting it lightly imo. In my two hours I was trying to play my friend and I were constantly crashing, dying to glitched were probably responsible for, and eventually not being able to play anymore because we couldn’t spam past ‘OnCreateSessionComplete Delegate bWasSuccessful == False’.
My friends and I started playing yesterday, we set up a dedicated server and played for 6 straight hours without a single crash from any of the 4 of us.
It is buggy, but in a Bethesda kind of way in my experience, it’s not game breaking bugs, it’s weird pathing, some jank animations, but overall it plays extremely well for early access. I was quite impressed as a fan and player of several early access survival/crafting games.
You’d have a point, if the comparison wasn’t between a decade plus old game and one that released in the last week, as early access. ARK is genuinely one of the single worst experiences to try and get into, and has multi year long bugs that haven’t been touched.
I haven’t bought Palworld, but you can actually launch the game, and join your friends in a few minutes tops. I have attempted to play with friends on ARK. Repeatedly. I have yet to actually do so, even after self hosting my own server on a couple occasions. IMO, this makes ARK as a title and game to play, completely worthless.

Um dawg I couldn’t even get into a game with a friend when we tried the other day because of the ‘OnCreateSessionComplete Delegate bWasSuccessful == False’ errors. I’m sure it’ll be fixed in time.
All im saying is to temper expectations and don’t go into this game expecting a masterpiece. It’s a janky meme game from the two hours ive put into it.

Very true, I had heard that one popping up but for the live streams I saw it seemed to go away with time or at random.
Fair enough to temper expectations, it is after all an early access title. They still seem to be handling things better than the ARK devs is all I was getting at. I literally have not been able to play it once, since purchase, outside of joining random public servers and having a uh… “Rust” ^(cough turboracism cough) type of experience if that makes sense.
It would be beautiful if he just handed the keys over to a true believer when it’s time. Just a quality, stand up person who already has a pocket full of cash and just wants to help gamers get games and indie devs distribute them without squeezing every drop of profit they can at every step.
edit: it’d be even beautifuler if he turned it over to a trust managed by a panel of elected employee representatives
For sure! There is no real market with exclusives! EGS is the bad apple that may spoil the bunch. Now do steam services also create a pseudo exclusive, yes kinda. But developers do not have to use those, they are just making their life easier. And developers can still do their games on other platforms as well.
EGS can’t compete on features for sure (it really is quite a shit platform), but they would be very competitive if their 12% fee (vs. Steams 30% fee) could be passed to buyers as lower prices. As it stands, Valve’s policies essentially strongarms the market to prohibit this (publishers selling on Steam may not have a lower price on a different platform, or the game can be de-listed from Steam). The Wolfire v. Valve case is highly relevent here.
My plea is for you not to get mad at Epic for being shit. We should be accepting of crappy platforms if their fees reflect that (Epic charges 40% what Steam does). Focus your frustration at Valve for preventing the market from fairly allowing you select the quality of the platform you’d like to pay for.
I’d be a lot more willing to root for epic if they had spent any time at all making EGS preferable. I would prefer steam over their mess even if EGS was 20% cheaper all the time. Tho I go for GOG over either of them whenever possible.
