Its because those touch screens have clunky UI and are slow if they made it simple and straightforward instead of a question for every page it would be as fast if not faster than a person ordering at a register. Most PoS systems are touch screen nowadays so literally all your doing instead of putting in the options in yourself is telling someone else what to put in. They also do it hundreds of times an hour so they are way faster that someone whos only used a kiosk a few times

Adobe's Employees Are Just As Upset at the Company As Its Users: Report (petapixel.com)

Adobe’s employees are typically of the same opinion of the company as its users, having internally already expressed concern that AI could kill the jobs of their customers. That continued this week in internal discussions, where exasperated employees implored leadership to not let it be the “evil” company customers think...

Its getting real close and I like Affinity’s workflow much better. Theres a few small bugs here and there. If anything im a Freelance professional but its my hobby first. Ive used Photoshop/Lightroom, GIMP/RawTherapee in the past on the photography side and Inkscape on the Graphic design side but now I mainly use Designer 2 and Photo 2. Granted my workflow is probably a decent bit different than a studios and I dont know what specifcs a studio needs over something like my workflow. What sorta challenges did switching to Affinity present for your studio?

Nindelofocho ,

Why not customer led like a co-op?

Nindelofocho ,

Isint Steam a form of DRM? You effectively cant play your games if you dont have an account I thought

Nindelofocho ,

I think AI can be good its just being fumbled so hard right now

Nindelofocho ,

??? Why? That thing is gunna get so greasy

Nindelofocho ,

So we’re starting to get to the point where its theoretically possible for computers to get real organic viruses? “Sorry boss I cant work today my computer caught Covid and coughed on me so now I have it too :(”

Nindelofocho ,

You play X4 though? That game eaaaats my time its so enjoyable

Nindelofocho ,

I think its more that you can supplement you normal power draw so your electricity bill isint so high

Nindelofocho ,

That explosion doesent seem much bigger than a firework thats smaller than the battery’s size. With as much as a car weighs and the amount we already do to protect batteries in electric cars i imagine the explosion from these could be easier to manage safely than a lithium fire. I also wonder how harmful the fumes are compared to lithium

I bought KSP 2 in its rough state cause I had hope that it would turn out good and cause I put so many many hours into the OG KSP but once again big publishers trample it with muddy shoes. I honestly feel like a big publisher cant release anything that doesent absolutely fuck the player since Cyberpunk. Almost all of my game purchased since that game have been indie games and its been easy not to look back

Nindelofocho ,

I loved KSP 1 and I still do I just wanted some improved core engine refinements and really looked towards a new refreshed modding scene plus interstellar travel was an awesome idea for KSP (i know there were some mods) its funny cause I rarely actually went to space i liked building crazy planes. I learned to dock and went to mun/minmus a couple times but never actually made it to other planets without spawning myself there. I just enjoyed the game my way sorta. Plus more fluid multiplayer was something I really wanted to get into

Nindelofocho ,

It has gotten better but man still so much undelivered. Im just sad and im tired of being sad. Im fully pledging to never buy a big publisher game unless it absolutely proves itself first and even then im still gunna be hesitant cause vote with your money and all that. Honestly outside of KSP2 Ive already been purchasing and playing mostly indie games for the last 2 years anyways

Nindelofocho ,

Thank you that was super informative. Is there anything that can be done to mitigate an impending eruption? Ive always heard that if one of the big super volcanoes goes it could be quite catastrophic for the entire world. Surely theres been some research into like pressure relief holes or something…antacid tabs?

Nindelofocho ,

You are right sadly :( but dont discredit yourself so much! A ton of people do listen and a ton of people think yall are cool! I think you’re cool. Its just that those people and I dont tend to be the people that have the resource to make decisions

Nindelofocho ,

I think it depends on the packages themselves. Do you have a lot of packages with overlapping functionality or are they packages that specifically focus on one function. I think its bloat when your file compression package also controls your rgb lights. Not all overlap is bad but too much is. Im a bit of a noob with linux though so grain of salt and all that

Nindelofocho ,

Yea i prefer other platforms but all my friends use it, its the only real way to talk to my mom remotely (shes deaf) and for all its faults its consistent and reliable

Nindelofocho ,

Man I JUST got affinity photo for RAW work cause its a good workflow and way better than lightroom and now I find out about this? Ffs cant have shit on earth

Nindelofocho ,

Its almost as if they got bought out by a company that didnt want workers to have an opinion

Nindelofocho ,

Scepter seems to be the well recommended budget option

Nindelofocho ,

That whole system sounds like an immense fire hazard

Nindelofocho ,

This is correct. Not everything has to be black and white

Nindelofocho ,

Its a fun and engaging game that im sure will have more fleshed out as development continues. I wouldn’t call it gimmicky at all. Some people play for a bit then stop either waiting for updates, to play another game (lots of good games came out around its release) or for literally any other reason in my case i broke my hand.

Nindelofocho ,

Maybe that used to be the case but now its legitimately impossible to own content any other way.

Nindelofocho ,

Hell maybe they could fix their current garbage that they purchased like Tsheets and Workforce

Nindelofocho ,

7 days to die has been making progress though .I remember picking it up and thinking I made a huge mistake then I played it a couple years later and loved it

Chromecast with Google TV is now serving full-screen, auto-playing Chicken Tender Wrap ads (www.androidauthority.com)

Reddit users thevincentasteroid and MMD3_ posted about an auto-playing video ad (with sound) on the home screen. The ad is for Chicken Tender Wraps from Carl’s Jr. When it begins auto-playing, it pushes all the other UI elements out of focus and goes almost full-screen, returning to the home screen after it has played through...

Nindelofocho ,

I have an adroid TV stick that doesent show ads when I turn it on. Showing ads when you turn the device on full screen is intrusive as hell

Nindelofocho ,

Did you read any of that article? It doesent say anything about phasing out Android TV it talks about malware coming in android TVs sold by sketchy no name companies on amazon. You can still buy android TV dongles. The nvidia shield is android TV and I currently use it to watch adfree Youtube. You should do some research before posting or even forming an opinion so you can stop spreading misinformation

Nindelofocho ,

Ive been thinking about this recently. We have essentially done that for 3D printers from the start. We should absolutely do this for 2D printers

Nindelofocho ,

I wonder if I can 3D print parts for and make a reliable 2D printer

Nindelofocho ,

Ive had this issue on multiple iphones and android phones its contributed a lot to my lack of trust in electronics

UVC, the kind that kills pathogens harms the skin and eyes and creates ozone. The article talks about using “Upper Room UV” which is just lights posted a safe distance away from humans above them which makes it considerably less effective at killing pathogens at the human level and also now theres a whole area of space where you cant go without risking harm from UVC like being on a ladder or some other platform.

UV also degrades lots of materials a lot faster

Edit: I meant Upper Room UV bot Far UV

Nindelofocho ,

You’re correct. I meant to say Upper Room UV, I edited it

Nindelofocho ,

Imo the safest solution for that would be a self hosted one that doesent dial out to a conpany server

Nindelofocho ,

A battery that last several years and can be used in a plethora of devices would be reasonably expensive yes. $5000 is a lot but maybe $500 is more reasonable for something like that?

Nindelofocho ,

I just want the damn Honda E little hatchback thing in the US

Nindelofocho ,

All evs are overpriced right now sadly

Nindelofocho ,

I was actually really surprised my nvidia shield lets me pair up a Bluetooth device for audio i imagine its not a common feature

Nindelofocho ,

I like watching some roguelikes or roguelites but I dont enjoy PLAYING those genres. I like to play a lot of games that involve thinking, problem solving, and creativity but sometimes I just want to turn off my brain and also see how other people approach games.

You also received downvotes because your question comes off as a bit crappy. If it were just a question you would have asked “why do people watch people play games?” But instead by singling out adults it comes off as an attack like playing or watching games is and immature activity which it is not. Whether or not that was your intention it will be viewed as such

Nindelofocho ,

Theres more to it than that of course, sometimes you just want to have a fresh viewpoint at a game or may not like the genre but like the story or some mechanics. I typically do like more “competent” creators but thats more reserved for videos, on streams you can interact with the streamer in real time on their thoughts about the game. Also sometimes i just want to watch someone else drive because my brain too tired

Nindelofocho ,

I kinda hope the next gen ones have a stronger nearby find feature. I love the feature but I still have to be within about 5 ft of it and practically have line of sight i imagine that cant be resolved with simple software updates

Nindelofocho ,

I hear nvidia is pretty iffy with linux but I am definitely using nvidia proprietary drivers i may distro hop a little too

Nindelofocho ,

So my perspective may be a little skewed cause I used to do the song and dance with used cars until I just bought a new motorcycle and primarily use that for my transportation now but because ive gone that route my montly payment is really low and so is full coverage insurance even though my lender didnt require me to have full coverage insurance.

No rudeness assumed! I didnt see mention of a calculator was it in a different comment on this post?

As for the misdiagnosis stuff its purely anecdotal but it happened to me twice on an old F150 i had that blew the radiator, replace the radiator and then it had some wild overheating issue that was so sporadic i couldnt get it to happen in front of a mechanic, queue chasing parts down: tstat, temp sensors, etc it also proceeded to have a leaking heater core and then a blend door issue meaning the cracking dash had to come out or a hole had to be drilled into the air box to fix, until then no heat OR ac after all that it never quite worked right and then I started having issues with the brakes in which chasing parts ensued with that as well. Ive also had a 93 acura vigor with endless electrical issues and bad syncros, a 2011 Hyundai accent super base model with consistent upper end lubrication issues (that was actually common with that engine and they typically grenaded at 100k miles) It just becomes a huge headache and a lot of stress to deal with I even had an 04 Rav4 lose its transmission while I was trying to take my then gf out to a concert and that vehicle was meticulously maintained, I joke thats where my vehiclular trust issues started

Most of my family lives 1-6hrs away depending on who i was visiting so getting a new sport touring motorcycle that I knew was going to work and get me there with no issues whenever I wanted is just the better move. renting a car would be silly and add a lot of cost just to go see family or to go camping. The last time I did rent a vehicle while on a trip it cost as much as the fairly cheap hotel i was staying at and essentially doubled the price of the trip
