Must not be that secret.

LustyArgonianMana , in Elon Musk says SpaceX and X headquarters moving to Texas, blames California trans student privacy law

He is such a creep about trans people

one of his estranged kids is trans so it’s personally motivated bigotry for him

I know, also Grimes dating Chelsea Manning right after they broke up (I feel bad Chelsea Manning got involved in anyone this, she is too good for these people)

He’s just so creepy and weird about it though.

Is he going to see his kid’s genitals? No, right? So why does it matter? Why do the genitals of students matter to him?

Delusional ,

While donating a shit ton of money monthly to a pedophile rapist.

werefreeatlast , in Springfield IL woman who called sheriff's office over possible intruder killed by deputies, attorney says

That goes to show you what not to do. I much rather call a friend…we catch the guy, give him some sleeping medication…we drive him to the desert… Maybe we make a little incision and plant a gps locator. If he decides to come back, you take drastic measures. Nothing bad, just more sleeping pills and a big box return to sender to China or Australia.

Never call the police unless you want your name on some dirt that will be used against you.

leraje , in Customers are furious with Sticker Mule’s pro-Trump mass SMS blast
@leraje@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

If you decide to not use StickerMule again, as the org I’m part of now has, I’d suggest that rather than simply not using them to login to your SM account, then contact them via their Support interface and ask them to remove your account and all data associated with it or direct them to tell you how you can do it yourself and end by telling them exactly why.

Eldritch ,

That is an excellent suggestion and sends a very potent and direct message that will be a lot harder to hand wave away. Chances are they’ll still try but it will make it harder on them.

turbowafflz ,

I did this as soon as they posted the tweet. They didn’t even bother telling me they had done it or acknowledge my message and I just had to try logging in to make sure it actually got deleted. The complete lack of communication makes me even more glad to never give them business again.

CaptPretentious , in Elon Musk says SpaceX and X headquarters moving to Texas, blames California trans student privacy law

Can someone explain this to me. What does student policy have to do with space or online posts?

Crashumbc ,

Like most extremely outspoken people with a phobia like this. He’s probably a closet wannabe trans.

Actually, the more I think about it, it kinda fits for him/her …

CaptPretentious ,

You know… that does kind of track. Back in the 2010’s when the hot topic was gay rights, some of the most zealot anti-gay right wingers… were found to dabble in the very least. And this is some loud stuff that has no direct connection to him, so… yeah.

LustyArgonianMana ,
@LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world avatar

Even if he is closeted, you should still respect his pronouns. It’s still bigotry when you do it, just like when any transphobe does it.

m0darn ,

I agree that we should use people’s preferred pronouns. I know it’s difficult to use neopronouns but it’s so seldom an issue let’s just get on with life.

Elon has protested being identified as a cisgender male, and declared that ‘prosecute/Fauci’ should be used.

Prosecute has also mentioned that prosecute doesn’t really like people making a big deal about pronouns so let’s just move on.

LustyArgonianMana ,
@LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world avatar

Let’s move on so you dont have to examine your behavior here or how it may harm the community you are supposedly standing up for

m0darn ,

Honestly I’d be happy to examine my behavior, because my support for the trans community is real. I don’t think I’m on trial but if you want me to provide evidence I can.

I don’t agree with the strategy of the previous poster which was to intentionally mislabel Elon. But I think it is appropriate to ironically adopt someone’s insincerely adopted pronouns. That said, I’d be happy to read an explanation of why this is a bad strategy.

Cheers.

barsquid ,

It doesn’t, Texas is probably better for taxes. He’s just being a bigot to “own the libs” or whatever the real reason is.

You just are not going to get any modern Republicans to cross the line. There is no point in catering or marketing to them. The same is true with Democrats. Both parties “identifies as” bases are immobile.

JimmyBigSausage ,

Not really thinking that either. I like him as a switch to Dem. He was a winner on 1/6 committee. Plus he is so damn cute. Sorry. I digress. But so is everyone at this point.

shalafi , in Trump Media Made a Deal That Could Secure a Major Financial Windfall for the GOP Candidate.

Can’t see how this would benefit him. Say he cashes in and take the $2.5B. OK, that’s real money as opposed to the paper (and worthless) stocks he has now.

But Trump himself selling out will only tank the stock, of which he owns $5.6B.

Is it a “bird in the hand vs. bush” thing?

NOT_RICK ,
@NOT_RICK@lemmy.world avatar

2.5 billy richer sure seems like coming out ahead to me

Monument ,

Sort of, except the bush sounds like a lot of birds are in there, but when you stick your hands in, all you find are artificially inflated stock values.

Sorry for the abused metaphor.

Basically, the company isn’t worth the hype. So the purported value of those stocks is meaningless, unless he can sell them off before the hype ends. The 2.5 billion now is likely far in excess what that 5.6 billion will be worth in the future.

kbin_space_program ,

Depends how much he invested. The money on hand might be more important to him to make him an actual billionaire.

Also, he has to keep bribing the Supreme Court aftee they crowned him.

RagingRobot ,

You can borrow money against stock holdings, kind of. While it wouldn’t give him access to all of that he could borrow from it and still have it in his portfolio

Voyajer ,
@Voyajer@lemmy.world avatar

This community has a matching headline rule, not sure if it’s enforced though.

morphballganon ,

Nowhere did I suggest posting the garbage article with an adjusted headline.

A person is not obligated to share an article with a misleading headline in the first place.

For you to equate practicing responsible journalism with breaking rules must mean you’re not simply an idiot; you’re an active enabler of misinformation, and blocking you would be a net-positive act.

Voyajer ,
@Voyajer@lemmy.world avatar

Your comment is ambiguous, I read it as if your issue was the headline because that is what you wrote. I considered adding they could have found a better article so they wouldn’t be stuck with the dumb headline but I figured you were intelligent enough to understand that was a possibility and it would be pointless to include. I didn’t realize what a massive conflict addict you are though so now I have to reply to you like you’re a toddler. Block me please, for my benefit.
