Ok real talk here for a minute. If, by any chance, some dufus has put a lightbulb in their month and need help removing it, grab a sturdy cloth towel, pass it into their mouth through the corners and gently wrap the glass part of the lightbulb in the cloth. When you’re done, all corners of the cloth should be hanging outside persons mouth. Their teeth should not touch the glass directly - only through the cloth. This way when the glass breaks, all the pieces will be contained I the cloth for an easy and, if you are careful, harmless removal.
The safest way to crack the bulb once you’ve wrapped it in cloth is to GENTLY tap the bottom jaw - imagine a 4 year-old landing an uppercut. The glass is very thin and cracks easily, - no need for much force.

I used to feel bad about using an ad blocker on the internet, but not anymore. I utilize PiHole and uBO for ad blocking now because the internet has literally become unusable without it. I never minded seeing ads, but they have gotten so brazen about it now with the most obnoxious ads possible. When the ads start negatively affecting the usability of the Internet there’s a serious problem. So they can either use respectful ad placement and get some revenue from me, or they can have them blocked and get zero revenue. It’s their choice.
I have network wide ad blocking with a PiHole server. I’ve also got a Wireguard VPN server so I can connect to have PiHole ad blocking on my phone while I’m out.
Wasn’t there once a Spotify ad for their own premium service where all they did was play annoying dissonant sounds and then was like “you wouldn’t have had to hear that if you had premium.”
I wouldn’t have had to hear that if I didn’t use your fucking app and torrented all my music, how bout that?

At risk of a strawman…
The shortest path to equality is to greatly reduce taxes on the middle class and increase them on the wealthy.
That’s what’s best for equality and for economic growth. Does this mean Democrats are horribly incompetent? Perhaps it’s that equality and economic growth aren’t their goals.
Considering the strains currently on the environment, finding a way forward that doesn’t require continual growth is likely a necessity for our long term survival (possibly short term too)

This isn’t a new fight. There will always be people who take our tools and abuse them by using them to hurt others. That’s what we’re fighting against, people who use our tools to hurt people instead of doing good. Unfortunately, if we just let people who collect stones and sticks for hurting people be, and not push them out of our village, they will just grow in number and strength so we can’t just block it out, we can’t live and let live around those who would take your life if they grew strong enough.
If it’s tiring and annoying to see people have to always yell at the club-and-rock-wielding thugs and throw rocks back at them, you don’t have to get involved, but don’t decry those who DO have the courage to throw rocks back. If they didn’t do this, the rocks would start hitting you next.

I actually disagree with the meme; capitalism is always fascism, just sometimes has a better PR team.
Fascism is a reactionary attempt to “turn back the clock” to the glory days of Capitalism before it decayed as much. Capitalism necessarily results in crisis, at which points occasionally the Bourgeoisie and Petite Bourgeoisie, the “middle class,” work together against the lower classes, ie the Proletariat and Lumpenproletariat. It usually rises as a response to climbing Socialism as the train of thought among the Proletariat.
It isn’t necessarily modeled after anything, history isn’t driven by ideas but Material Conditions and class conflict.
That’s not what fascism is. Fascism isn’t “when there are shitty strict rules”. In fact, classical fascism is a (failed) class collaborationist ideology where the state was supposed to mediate between interest groups of workers and bosses. protip: it didn’t. workers got screwed. (see corporatism, from the root word corpus, not corporation). Nazism didn’t do any of that but even they had their own garbage state-run labor front.
But the point being, those business are beyond even fascism. It’s straight-up pure raw capitalist dictatorship.

I was denied a mathematics education, for real. I can’t even do long division, nevermind that squiggly F shit. I thought that stuff was only for astrophysicists.
I want to learn basic maths, but I’m in a ‘learned helplessness’ mindset where I can’t even get through basic sums and equations intended for children (I’m old as fuck now).
I was diagnosed with autism a few years back, which kinda made no sense. I would have expected rainman powers, but numbers just don’t jive with my cunt of a brain. Maths is as inscrutable to me as people’s faces or social cues.
You might also have discalcula, which is a real but somewhat uncommon thing where you’re absolutely shit at math. I have no idea how to get tested for it though.
If you actually want to learn maths (that is, if you’re not just venting), you could try to ask for help in dedicated math or teaching communities.
The problem with teaching stuff you know, is to put yourself in a position of actually not knowing anything. I’m a software developer and had to teach some apprentices a few years ago, and it was really eye opening to me to see how much assumptions about the apprentice’s knowledge I made even though I thought I made my explanation “basic”.
It’s quite possible that all the tutorials you’ve read are either for literal children, so they just don’t work for your adult brain, or they’re intended for adults and assume too much.
On a personal note: how did you get into that situation? Were you home schooled?
I transferred schools in the middle of 10th grade, and the new Algebra class I landed in was several chapters ahead. I never caught up, but the teacher passed anyone who turned in literally anything for homework so I did that.
Now in my 30’s I’m getting into indie game design, and I need that gap filled so I can write the code I need. So I went to the local thrift shop and picked up a couple old textbooks (since it’s safe to assume that nothing groundbreaking has happened in the field of basic algebra in the past twenty years) for fifty cents and I’ve been working my way through them. I don’t understand everything that’s happening, but I’m pushing ahead with the faith that somewhere along the line things will “click”.
