My left leg.

(If somebody could come get me off this desert island that’d be great)

Imagine a wounded centaur with the horse part dead and the human part just writhing on the ground fully alive. Morbidly hilarious that image is

Pinklink ,

I did not. Still enjoyed it without context though

Pinklink ,

W……what?? If this is meant to be a joke, ok, but not well executed. If it’s not, please do not cheapen the term, especially in these times

Pinklink ,

Wrong. And using big words when they are not necessary does not make you right or sound smart btw. “to the knowledge of current science which in its current olfactory capacity” could be summed up as “currently, science”. Brevity and quality of content can show more intelligence than big words like “olfactory capacity”. Now onto my long winded explanation of why you are wrong:

Everyone has a micro biome on their skin. Each type of bacteria will give off a specific smell. While the populations of bacteria will change over time, the major populations will stay fairly constant, leading to a recognizable smell that each person has. In addition, an amazing amount of chemicals are secreted in sweat. These chemicals not only have their own scent and are determined by genetics, but which chemicals and at what concentrations will encourage/discourage certain populations of bacteria to flourish or not. All of this does produce a fairly static “odor print”. ”Fairly” being key as you are right in that it is not as static or unique as fingerprints (interesting research has suggested that fingerprints aren’t as unique as we once thought but that’s for another Ted talk).

As for the research, most of the modern research has suggested that it’s actually mostly immune-related genetics that compliment your own (would make a stronger immune system if combine with with yours in an offspring) that your nose is looking for, not just DNA that is dissimilar to yours, which is what it would be if aiming for purely expanding genetic diversity. If this research continues to hold up, you are absolutely wrong in saying it doesn’t play a role in choosing a significant other, and the fact that research is suggesting this at this time makes you completely out of line to just say “this just doesn’t happen.” It does make sense on a genetic compatibility level, as it does in that finding your partner’s smell appealing will factor into your attraction to them. Sorry you don’t find it believable or whatever, but your beliefs do not dictate science.

Oooooh hypergraphic! Your pedantic semantics are enrapturing! No, someone who specifically came back to tell me I’m wrong with overconvoluted vocabulary and chauvinism wouldn’t be trying to prove either of those things.

Time magazine: the best source for up to date and accurate scientific information.

Oh c’mon, just like accidentally sharting, we’ve all done it at least once.

Pinklink ,

China?? Censoring media??? No wayyyyyy

Pinklink ,

Agreed. Can we talk about getting off though? Everyone seems to have their own idea about how to do it and here is my proposal that I am very certain is the most efficient: plane lands at gate, but doors haven’t opened yet. The AISLE seats get up, get their bags, wait patiently in aisle till doors open. The WHOLE LINE of aisle standers files off (they are all ready to just leave), then the next inner seats get up, get their stuff, and file off, etc. Every time someone is “polite” and lets people get up infront of them, they hold up the entire line of aisle standers, and anyone else who could be getting up from their seat and grabbing their things. The entire plane has to wait each time someone says “yes I could just walk forward and leave the plane right now, but please go ahead and take your time getting out of your seat and grabbing your things before I go”

He already took the wheel, wtf is next?!?

Well, there’s elves, then there’s Elves.

If sub is actually in a wheelchair, this is actually quite wholesome.

I think it was joke. You are the one that decided to take it as political. Also, probably shouldn’t try to come as “better than thou” when your username looks like a 13 yo sat down and tried to think up the grossest thing they could while nonstop snickering to themselves the entire time because of how edgy and funny they are.

Pinklink ,

It’s a trick to keep you trapped. You are already in the mirror, you’ve been here for a long time. Run! Escape!!

Pinklink ,

“Why is my ass pulling me in this direction??”

Pinklink ,

This hasn’t happened to me in years, and I’m worried you have just cursed me

Pinklink ,

How common is it to pluralize it? Isn’t Rangoon already plural? Like sheep or moose?

Pinklink ,

Depends on the situation. Coughing/choking/asphyxiating: no do not do mouth. Chest compressions and back blows. No consciousness and no heart beat: chest compressions and rescue breathes.

Of course do not do anything you are not trained in. However, if no one else is, your even if your cert has lapsed, good Samaritan laws are pretty lenient

Pinklink ,

But how does it know when to say that?

Pinklink ,

I have a shit mom and a great dad. They got divorced when I was fairly young. I still have a relationship with both of them, but thank god for my good dad because I’m not sure I would be an okay person without him. One good parent can be enough to keep you sane. So keep it up, you can do it :)

Pinklink ,

Don’t be too embarrassed y’all. I am in the same boat as you, but reasonable people adjust their views and beliefs as new evidence is presented, which is exactly what we have done

No one looks good in this. Musk obviously much much worse, but Lemon was antagonistic and rather aggressive with his tones and questions. When he had multiple chances to respond somewhere down the middle and MAYBE get Elon to actually think about things differently, Lemon continued to be demeaning and dismissive. Lemon is confused why Elon is upset about this interview? Bullshit. Lemon went for multiple “gotcha” moments, brought lines of questioning that were meant to be direct attacks, purposefully “misunderstood” his answers when he had even somewhat salient points. Still trying to rectify the illegal immigrant thing in my own mind, have to chalk it up to Elon being misinformed about the data I guess, because that made an unfortunate amount of sense. Has to be that not an overwhelming majority of immigrants go to blue states, which actually it might be just that simple. “Blue states would lose blah blah seats in senate and electoral votes without illegals (yuck he kept saying it this way)” yeah but what about red states? Does Elon really think 100% of illegal immigrants go to blue states? Anyway my point is Lemon didn’t really respond to this point other than “you are wrong. Guess we will find out which of us is wrong.”

Pinklink ,

Yeahhhhh except that if we really want to change hearts and minds (which if you don’t, you are just doing things for the sake of the high of self righteousness, because you don’t really care about the issue if you aren’t trying to change others’ opinions), you have to be better than them. You have to answer vitriol with level headed salient points. There is no better way to show someone what a deluded, selfish asshole they are than answering shittheadedness with calm, valid counter arguments.

Pinklink ,

Great points. Thank you

Every cunt is different. Some are quite shallow. Some are quite cold too, at least the ones in my basement are…

You ever get it in weird way that you are just lying in bed, tired but awake, waiting for your body to go sleep, and you start dreaming before actually falling asleep? This happens to me from time to time

You changed it the second time I read it, that’s cheating

Antihistamine is the type of drug, or it’s “family. It describes what is does biochemically. That’s like using “antibiotic” when you are looking for doxycycline.

Nah, there is some scents there. As in, I barely care, but I could care less.
