When I vacation in Europe I stay in apart-hotels that have space, kitchenettes, etc. Just stayed in one in Munich a week or two ago even.

They exist in Europe like most nice things that make sense do… not in the USA though. Our hotels suck, the only other option is airbnb of someone’s home which is often OVER equipped and sized for short stays.

We need an in between but I don’t see it being made due to our awful zoning law issues and if they were to exist they’ll likely be overpriced

My work tries to pay state minimum of $12 in several departments and the average tenure is measured in one or two pay periods at most, most don’t even stay til sign on bonus payout because they find something paying $4+ more per hour. Rural Americans would relish any opportunity to kill city dwellers they see as invading the small communities. While attempting to burn the countryside would certainly catch attention, the more likely event is farmers and sympathetic rural police forces killing urban citizens, especially those with brown skin or blue hair as that’s their normal scapegoats for what’s wrong in America if you listen to coffee shop talk.

I just got a steam deck a few weeks ago and gotta say, it’s pretty great and it just boots into steam which is all I’d ever want a handheld to do. I got the highest tier steam deck for $650 and it’s had no issue running anything I’ve wanted to run on it. It runs new stuff perfectly well from all the reports I’ve seen of people playing baldurs gate 3 on it

Is there maybe a cost associated with the upgrade to windows 10 version for that software? I’ve had vendors quote me everything from 3k to 150k for the upgraded version and move assistance to go from server 08 to server 2012 compatibility (equivalent of 7-10 desktop)

There probably is a windows 10 and later compatible version, but you may need to upgrade and there’s a capital expense the business may be unwilling to do

Walmart is also a family owned business, that term means nothing in regards to company size and org structure. In another comment OP says there are several leadership tiers including managers, directors, and VPs, those org charts don’t exist in mom&pop health clinics. If OP is a one man IT department then this company is grossly mismanaged and is being negligent with their data by hiring a singular kid straight of college to be their IT department, if he’s one of many like they should be then OP is just a new-hire that needs to pump the brakes and learn to follow direction
