99% of the questions I was going to post to stack overflow were solved before I hit post. Something about really having to think through your problem to give people the most complete information about your problem as possible makes it easier to find the solution.
I did just get a rubber ducky and I didn’t know what I should do with it till now.
There’s no such thing as deadnaming a company/corporation/brand, they aren’t a living entity and have no will of their own, the one offended is their owner.
It isn’t exactly dead naming, of course i’ll happily do it. I did it for multiple other corporation that change hand and name, i’ll still call the name that i used to call it, confusing the younger generation is a plus, offending the CEO is the goal.
There are probably less than 5 emails in our internal helpdesk queue this month that WEREN’T marked as urgent.
Urgent problems this month include: ‘The glare from my kitchen window washes out my laptop screen’, ‘How do I change the color of my folders icon?’ and ‘Client reports hearing faint mumbling from their org’s landing page’
I handled the last one personally, she had a forgotten tab with a looping podcast playing on very low for the last few days.
dad gives me a quarter so I can immediately lose in some claymation caveman game. i got a personal panned pizza for reading some books. there’s a pitcher of diet pepsi on the table, i think the condensation looks neat. The waitress vacuums up the straw wrapper my sister missed shooting at me with a rolling sweeper thing as she asks my parents “the usual?”
When I was in 6th grade a server at Pizza Hut accidentally poured boiling grease on my friend’s little brother. It was an awful injury that literally scarred him to this day. The investigation into the situation revealed that the server wasn’t provided the correct platform for carrying the deep dish, she was bringing out, because they were short, and busy. So they got a big fucking pay-out. They paid the medical bills, including long term cosmetic work, and therapy. They got a big cash pay-out, not sure how much, but it allowed them to recover from their failed business, pay off their loans, and set up trusts for their kids’ early adult lives. You know, pay for school, or whatever they needed to get a head-start on adult life.
One of the things they were given was a card that was used for internal corporate reasons. It was basically a free Pizza Hut card. The cashier would type the number into the register, and it would clear the bill. They were given free food for “life”, life ended up being about 20 years, ending with yet another decrease in their business. So, at least once a week, their family, and all their kids’ friends, would go to Pizza Hut for a big pizza party. During the summer we would often be given the card to get food when they had to be at their business late, which was often. I can no longer smell the particular fried bread smell of their pan pizzas without feeling a little nauseated. Sooo much pizza hut. Some times the local pizzeria would give us a few pies in exchange for letting them order things from PH not on their menu, like wings, so we could get some real pizza about once a week out of it.
Lmao are you really gonna be a Ben Shapiro apologist? He’s an overt ethnosupremacist of the white variety, and is staunchly aligned with the proto-fascist elements of the far right American political spectrum.
I mean I want to name my first son Abe, but that’s because it was my grandfather’s americanized name (Ibrahim)
I think some geriatric sounding names are still respectable sounding enough to stand as good names for kids today. Dot and Conny I think would be good ones for girls and those are nicknames for Dorothy and Constance.
Looks like it. Names like Eleanor, Hazel, Lillian, Ellie and even Millie are in the top 100 baby names this year, and a couple of them are in the top 20 in the U.S.
We already had trump and biden, and country has been in structural decline since at least 2008.
It doesn't matter who is the next president since there is zero indication current policy will be adjusted in any meaningful way to to provide any relief for working people.
Beatings will continue until morale improves.
Income tax sunset from trump corpo tax cuts coupled with inflation really pinching people this year. But fake news and our dear leaders can't figure why z peasants are bitching since inflation is "down"
there is zero indication current policy will be adjusted in any meaningful way to to provide any relief for working people.
Just a reminder that Biden has been working overtime to provide student debt relief the entire time he’s been in office. Republicans have been working overtime to block it.
Student debt shouldn’t even exist. We need more education, not less.
Student debt relief without a reduction in prices is just funneling money to colleges with extra steps. It is an important step, Biden should be doing it, but it needs to be accompanied by serious consumer protections and price controls applied to colleges.
Sure, college education should just be a part of the regular public education system like it is in Europe. More education is a boon for the individual, society, and the economy.
That would be good, private colleges could still exist but they’d have to compete with free college so the prices would have to come down and the value come up, a win for the consumer either way. It would be expensive but an important investment in our future.
Using existing means to cancel fraudulent loans for non accredited schools that went under or people who were already supposed to have their loans forgiven by standing law but hadn’t because people like literally Joe Biden have given the keys to the kingdom to the business that want to make money more and have been going unpunished for screwing over the general populace.
They aren’t real actually helpful policies it’s minor enforcement of things that he and others of the major parties have ignored being broken for the bank accounts of their donors.
Biden has been working overtime to provide student debt relief the entire time he’s been in office
Biden could sign an executive order right now forgiving all government-backed student loans. He doesn’t need to work overtime on this, he could literally hand-write it and sign it in like five minutes.
All you gotta do is ask everyone to scoot down a room (or two, not sure if Sis and the boulder are looking to share a room) and you’ll find there’s plenty of room.
