Like no one uses their blinker anymore! It’s such a habit for me, I’ll turn it on when exiting out the driveway and we are the last house on the block! My husband makes fun of me when I do it, but it’s just such an automatic thing for me. Like seriously, I’d rather drive surrounded by semis because at least they are courteous and signal lane changes.
ETA: It’s like everyone said fuck it and forgot the rules of the road. They’re so fucking simple too.
My speculation, but I think the down votes are because the comment had nothing to do with the post. So a way to filtering out, out of scope comments. Asking about the display name on a post about high calorie ppl setting an apartment on fire is pretty random after all 😂
Now I kind of want to know what that tastes like. Like a big part of what we consider “spicy” is that it triggers the “very hot” sensors in our mouth without triggering the “warm” sensors that are usually triggered with it, so you end up with a combination that’s usually impossible. Mint+ chilli powder would be like the next level of that, triggering both hot and cold at the same time
I mean, it does, but only for a very little while. After a few decades, the cooling effect of a nuclear winter would be gone, while global warming will only cool down naturally over thousands of years. Either way, humans would be fucked, since nuclear winter cools the Earth by up to 8 degrees - that’s an ice age. So nuclear winter would actually make things a lot worse for humanity (even ignoring radiation and destruction), since the few survivors of the global ice age would have to face global warming next.
He is relating to his fellow Earth humans by showing them a familiar setting which includes such things as oxygen (which he too needs) and light from the same sun he has known since his day of hatching. Perfectly normal.
It’s pretty good. Definitely better then self-hosted stuff like nextcloud, because you don’t need to maintain your own server. But sometimes it takes a while for two hosts to discover each other on the same local area network.
I think they’re both good for different use-cases. I use nextcloud myself on a truenas system. I sync things like my pictures to nextcloud, and delete them from my phone after I’ve sorted them into the correct folders.
This way my data isn’t clogging up my phone and other things, is still available from anywhere (as long as my home internet doesn’t go down), and it’s still safely stored on redundant storage.
This does take a bit more setting up than something like syncthing, though it wasn’t very difficult at all. Basically install the docker image, tell it where my data goes, and set up a new dns record if you want it publicly accessible. I personally run it through a zerotier network so I don’t have to do that.
I like Nextcloud on my TrueNAS scale setup, but for photos I’ve started using Immich. It works extremely well, and does automatic backups of specific folders from your phone. The interface looks nice too.
