The Ship of Theseus is a thought experiment about whether if it is an object, after having had all its original components replaced, remains the same thing.
I’m currently reading a book called The Wager and I’m learning a lot about ships. Apparently like even your average ship was basically rebuilt each year because they just fell apart constantly. So I guess like all ships are Ships of Theseus.
But at the same time as a semiconductor manufacturer i really like them. They have high quality ics for literally everything. I think that they are so big that the different parts of the company dont even interact.
But they seem to last forever, so there are a ton available in the aftermarket. My TI-89 from 1997 still works like new, and I plan to bequeath it to my son
But they make the z80 and they’re so proud of the shitty 8 bit processor they made 50 years ago so they’re forcing people to use it and pay modern prices for it. They eventually made an ez80 which is like the z80 but better in some ways and it sounds impressive but if you ever try to design a homebrew computer out of one, you’ll find that it’s not very worthwhile due to the lack of a external wait state insertion pin and if you want to build something better than a z80 or 6502 homebrew, there are better choices than an ez80.
Only the ti83-84 are shit. The old ti89 and newer ti nspire are actually really good. I bought a ti89 on eBay for $20 and even though it is 20 something years old it’s still better than there new ti84 color stuff.
It is part of my sworn duty to thaw those blocks of ice.
Although I have noticed, things have become a lot less dire since we gave in and let the dog sleep at the foot end of the bed. 35kg of fur covered bio heater help.
I was out shoveling snow the other day and I guess I need new boots cause my feet were frozen. Then it was turnabout is fair play when I put my cold feet on her and she acted like I was the worst human being ever.
We take the korv, it’s red skin colored with falu rödfärg, and it is microwaved to just before it cracks open. After that we cut the skin and put on mustard and ketchup. It is served with whole grilled onion and Pyssling Pudding. A mix of lime jell-o and chocolate.
Such a shame that they ran out of ideas after they moved apartments and were never able to step away from the kitchen smashing with viking weaponry running joke. They were good dudes. I still have their apron lying around.
