Someone explain the 10$ price that unlocks nothing and I also don't have to...pay? Is it not just a donation request at this point? I promise I'm not looking to argue semantics, but how am I, as a user, supposed to see this as a transparent attempt at differentiating from big tech if we don't call a spade a spade?
Either way, I like what they're trying to do, but it all seems too ambitious to pay atm. If they are still fighting a worthwhile and virtuous fight in a year from now, I'll pay double their 'current price'
Just like the popular digital audio workstation software Reaper, the trial is unlimited but the software is not free. I’ve gladly paid for it twice in the last ten years because I support this business model. It respects the end user.
They’re experimenting with a business model where they ask users to pay for the product if you get value from it. Development isn’t free, their time is valuable. In return they’ll never harvest and sell your data.
If this experiment is a success it can demonstrate that it’s a viable business strategy to not harvest data, which is good for everyone.
Personally, at this point I’m trying out the FUTO keyboard but it’s too janky for me to pay for it. Lots of bugs and swipe is not good. I hope it gets better and I’m trying to help the project by submitting bug reports.
Grayjay I’ve barely used but I see the potential, and if it gets good I’ll pay for it. I paid for Signal messenger because it’s the same kind of thing.
It’s up to you. They’re telling you what the price is, it’s the honor system if you use it and get value from it.
Not espresso, but I used to have a couple v60s and a hand grinder, and would bring some beans with the promise that I’d pour people coffee if they grind their cup. It became a nice way to take a morning social break for a few minutes, and a way for me to cycle fresh beans a little faster.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a music focused game and god damn but it is funky. State of Mind and Condensed Milk are my favorites but the range is wide and excellent. No two songs really share the same style.
If you’re a metalhead, Metal: Hellsinger won a bunch of best music awards with such offerings as Stygia and This Devastation. It’s not instrumental, but it’s worth a listen and if you like what you hear it’s worth a play as well. Think if Doom was a rhythm game.
Generally speaking, all of the Persona soundtracks are also top tier ambient chill tracks, especially so if you’ve actually played the games and have an emotional connection to these songs like myself. Persona 5 is a little more generally upbeat but I like it the best, but P4 and P3 have plenty of low key jazzfunk. I don’t have specifics to recommend here but know that all three of the P3/4/5 soundtracks come with my seal of approval. EDIT: I have specifics to recommend here. Persona 5 - Rivers in the DesertPersona 4 - The Poem for Everyone’s Souls ( <- This one appears in all three games with minor differences and is close to what I expect you’re actually looking for from this thread) Persona 3 - Living With Determination
Anbernic release so many handhelds and the price tends to come down a couple months after release. Maybe the SP will get there? I got a 35xxh a little while back from a UK eBay seller for about £40 if memory serves. On the other hand I imagine the SP has been super popular so who can say.
imo it’s sort of like computer graphics cards. There is never one singular best time to buy because something better is always right around the corner, and prices are always fluctuating up and down. If the SP is drawing you in to buy now, then go for it! The SP already emulates every non-analog stick console perfectly (and even a couple that do have analog sticks), so it’s not like there’s any point to waiting for a more powerful device.
eBay buyer protection is amazing. If you’re buying on eBay do yourself a favor and go find their policy document that describes the requirements for each level of condition that an item can be listed for sale under.
Sellers are often lazy (or scammy) and list items with greater damage than allowed for a given listing condition and think that writing things like “sold as is, no refunds!” in the body of the listing is some kind of get out of liability free move when listing an item as “Used” or “Refurbished .”
Unless you’re buying an item that’s specifically listed under “for parts or repair” the item must be 100% working with no loss of functionality when you receive it, otherwise you can just open a case and send it back for a 100% refund including shipping. This is a great way to hold a scammy seller over a barrel for a fair partial refund for any missing functionality. Remember that any time you have to send an item back the seller has to eat the cost of shipping both ways plus any fees eBay charges them, so feel free to extort fair compensation if you’re willing to keep the damaged item. If you can’t get an amount that would allow you to repair the item back to full function you can just say no to any offer and send the item right back. I’ve shut down dozens of sellers trying to move damaged items this way, all you have to do is point to the policy document and eBay will back you up.
University isn’t intended to get A grades, university it’s for you to make connections with other people. A grades are good but a good business partner can save you life.
Also regarding university figure out your reasons for studying whatever it is you’re going to study before going into massive debt for it. Too many people my age went to university a bit aimlessly because going to university after high school is what was supposed to happen. Then they spend the next decade or two kicking themselves about their debt and how they were naive about what they studied.
Now days you can get your college courses paid for by your employer if you have a good one. A “foot in the door” full time job might get you a free Masters or better depending on who you work for and their benefits. Many companies will reimburse your college degree while you work for them. Be picky about who you work for.
My advice would be that if you can’t make this decision for yourself based on the details of your own life, then you should probably do some psychedelic therapy.
Aliexpress is definitely the way to go. Here’s a link to spreadsheet with the best prices from legit stores: Link
(Compiled by /u/DargillaUomo over on reddit - i think he earns an affiliate cut, but they do seem to genuinely be the best prices if you’re buying new)
I tried but there’s no option for it in the app I’m using, Voyager. A long press on the word yields options like “copy”, “look up”, but nothing about the dictionary.
It reduces the barrier of entry for new users to get an account going that is not flooded by political extremist views in it’s feed.
It causes anonymous users to not see they shitshow. And since most users start out by browsing anonymously while deciding whether they want an account or not, that is a big deal.
It gives the impression that this community is at least somewhat ok with the views that these extremists hold.
It should be opt-in to view posts and comments from these sources.
this is never ending on a federated site and will only create a smaller network the whole point is connecting to other instances. just use the options you have to choose for yourself what to block and not to block never choose for other people what they can and cant see.
