    This sounds rather unrelated to "admin" status/role. Anyone can create a community whee only mod can post and post/repost there whatever they find interesting on community/single-post level. Then people who like that can subscribe.

    Jon-H558 , to nostupidquestions in Tools to sharpen out of focus objects in pictures.

    You will not be able to get the actual detail back unfortunately... However there are some of the ai tools that give best guesses as to what should have been there and like a sort of auto-generated picture can look extremely plausible. I have seen outputs from them and think the latest Google pixel phone will have it built in, but not sure were to access it online

    awderon OP ,

    Yeah I played around with different tools yesterday. Topaz sharpen AI was pretty much useless for what I need. But ChaiNNer with different models is looking promising so far to save at least some of the pictures I have.

    tou , (edited ) to android in What phone are you using?
    @tou@lemmy.world avatar

    Phone I’m Using:

    Samsung A50

    Am I Happy with it:

    Yes, it has been fully capable of performing the daily tasks that I throw at it. Only downsides really is that it no longer receives support from Samsung.

    What Phone Did I have Previously:

    My previous phones were a LG Q6 and I believe an iPhone 6 or 7. Honestly as much as I love Android, the iPhone was leaps and bounds better then what the LG Q6 was able to provide. That’s mainly more a statement of how bad LG was at making actually interesting phones that were good.

    How often do I upgrade:

    My A50 is a hand-me-down so atm I don’t really decide when I get a new phone lol.

    What other Android Ecosystem Devices do I have?

    If it counts, Google Home Mini (have had it for quite a few years)

    Do you have any Apple products and/or Microsoft, Linux, etc…

    No, I don not own any Apple products of any sort. I own an Xbox Series X, a Windows Laptop from Asus, a Google Home Mini along with a Amazon Alexa (well technically that wasn’t mines originally I’m just “borrowing” it because it was just left disconnected.) Lastly I have a pair of Jabra Elite 3’s which have been pretty good.

    luminaree , to books in What did everyone read in June?
    @luminaree@lemmy.world avatar

    Swan Light by Phoebe Rowe - I really enjoyed this book telling two connected stories that occurred 100 years apart in parallel, centering around a lighthouse in Newfoundland that collapsed into the ocean and the search to find it.

    The Weight of Air by David Poses - Autobiographical book advocating for harm reduction approaches in treating addiction. I was sad to see that the author passed away last year, it’s clear that his book has helped a lot of people.

    Okay, so what if galaxies are synonymous to atoms in that they are the building blocks of something greater?

    insert something here about protons, neutrons, electrons, quarks etc. being comparable to solar systems and planets.

    Feweroptions ,

    Galaxies form galactic groups and clusters. Clusters can form into super clusters. Beyond that, you’re looking at the universe itself as the next large collection of stuff.

    If you part it to the Right, it's Wrong.
    Not Right = Wrong
    So, Left must = Right.

    captain_aggravated , to nostupidquestions in lemmy.world doesn't seem to have many established NSFW communities; they appear to be in separate instances. Is there any benefit to this or anything stopping lemmy.world from having NSFW communities?
    @captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works avatar
    1. I’ve heard that adage about the porn industry pushing innovation, but I’m not sure it’s entirely true. Like, I believe “the world standardized on VHS because the porn industry did” is outright false.
    2. Hosting porn brings down a whole load of legal scrutiny onto your service. In some places in the world it’s outright illegal or the effort it takes to do it within the law is so great that it’s not worth doing. Several instances don’t want to even attempt it. Instances that do probably need to specialize in the kind of attention that sort of hosting requires.
    ccunix ,

    The porn/VHS thing is a bit of an urban myth. Top Gun was the first blockbuster only released on VHS and had more effect than porn.

    Anecdotally, my sister and I persuaded my dad to buy a VHS so we could have Top Gun.

    Silviecat44 ,

    Blu-Ray, however

    ccunix ,

    You want to say porn is what allowed Blu-ray to beat out HD-DVD?

    I doubt it. By the time that format war arrived the internet was well and truly established, so I reckon the vast majority of NSFW content was consumed with no physical media.

    Another reason would have been Xbox Vs PlayStation. The Xbox 360 had an HD-DVD as an optional extra, compared to the PS3 including Blu-ray as standard. Which was going to win?

    The porn industry’s influence is vastly overrated.
