And why we’re not supposed to use the word “normal” when referring to somebody or what they aren’t…
I don’t think snowflake is intended to be an insult though, is it? I always thought it was a stupid reference to what is perceived as an over sensitive generation (or person).
Not exactly accurate, I think. Even machine language is bound by the CPU’s architecture. You can’t do anything in machine language that wasn’t specifically provided for by the CPU architects.
It would be more accurate to say it’s like creating a new universe using all the same laws of physics, thermodynamics, cosmology, ethics, etc as our existing universe.
I don’t think accuracy was the goal, it is a joke not a dissertation. It’s more about how it feels to try a language like assembly after working with higher-level languages.
Onward, men! Full sails to the horizon! On my oath, we’ll make it to Ikeland by morning!
Oh, there will be Ikes as far as the eye can see, I tell you! Tall Ikes, short Ikes, God-fearing Ikes! Our coffers will overflow with the abundance of Ikes!
You who would doubt me, who would claim the impossibility of such a paradise, you cowards who hide from ambition and surround yourselves with the petty offerings of Steve Island or David Cove, why you would not know how to handle the Ikes of Ikeland!
But I am a man of greater mettle, and I will know this new land.
Mine points to a Tumblr blog that I don't really use anymore because I'm posting here instead. I ought to turn it into a more professional portfolio page and use some of the other ideas in this thread. I have email at that domain thanks to my legacy free Google Workspace I've had for like 15 years.
The use as a complimwnt or insult has changed over time.
It was once a positive about being yourself (unique).
Then it conservatives used it to refer to someone thinking they were special.
Then it was used to mean someone who melted at any criticism, generally referring to conservatives who thought they were special because they ‘know something everyone else didn’t’ (Qanon morons).
When conservatives all someone a snowflake and when people call conservatives snowflakes the insults are slightly different.
It varies from country to country. Some countries don’t let you become a citizen again after renouncing, while others allow it.
Citizenship is related to taxes (which also varies from country to country), so some countries are very interested in your citizenship in order to be able to establish that you owe them income taxes.
How would your previous country find out? I imagine it’s like any crime: you either do something to make it easier for them (try to renew a passport, fail to file a tax return) or they find you by accident (some investigator notices a connexion between two observations that makes their mind tingle).
There’s probably more, but that’s enough to answer your questions.
What’s a long time? I literally scheduled a pickup last year for a pre-paid label and it was free. Anyway, another commenter seemed to say that it’s the shipper’s choice whether they cover the home pickup or not.
Vibrators are much better than they used to be - quiet, rechargeable, and durable. I think your veggies are safe. If you’re worried about it, only buy non phallus-shaped veg for awhile and see if anyone comments. I think (hope) those food sex things are just jokes, but i will not use a hotel room glass, coffee maker, or refillable shampoo.
“Hey mom/dad, could you get some cucumbers next groceries trip. My face is so dry lately and in dire need of a moisturizing mask”
“Sorry honey we are restricting you to only non phallic veggies for your own safety” why do I feel like super Christian households would actually say this.
I see, it has to be cultural. I’m from Czech Republic, but born close to Slovakian/Hungarian border. Where I come from, the spinach would be the suspicious ingredient. (I was like, “are you out of wipes or something?”)
Cucumbers, Balkan cheese, tomatoes, pepper, maybe onion would make it much easier to blend in the crowd.
I played this in high school circa 2013. There was a server up 24/7 that hosted an infinite loop of the Venice map that always had the highest server pop. You’d occasionally find other servers going, or be able to host your own and get randoms, but more often than not, I played a TON of Venice for about a year. Good times.
Here are things I’m currently using root for on LineageOS:
System-wide adblocking (hosts file with Adaway). Yes, there’s DNS-based adblocking, but sometimes that can be slow or not play nice with public wifi networks.
Battery management. I use AccA to limit my battery capacity and charge rate to keep it from wearing out. I might not care as much if the battery was easy to replace.
File management, as there’s an increasing amount of the filesystem blocked off without it.
Fair, but I guess my point was I haven’t personally needed those things in some time. At least, not enough to warrant exposing myself to vulnerability like before. Ad blocking especially, since you can do that via VPN or by using your VPN slot if you don’t want to use something like pihole. App + data backups are built into many custom roms as well, including the one I use (graphene).
Everyone’s security and convenience/feature needs are different of course. There is often a tradeoff. The way I see it, I wouldn’t give up having admin access on my PC for security, so why would I give it up on my phone?
Yes, it’s my main back up app. (The latest update kinda broke it though, I think first time happening, but the issue was spotted and will be fixed.) The only big limitation (which might have been fixed actually) is backing up and restoring app on work profile (anything other than user0).
The benefit to longevity from limiting battery charge even a little bit is pretty substantial. I recommend it to most people with the technical ability to do it.
