Wanting to murder a child I can understand but you’re not supposed to actually do it. Wtf is wrong with people these days.

Rts is great but many people nowadays don’t touch the genre and the people that play it are spread out across every rts game that ever existed. TA still has a community and it came out in 1997.

I’ve always played rts games extremely casually never playing single player but never playing 1v1 ranked. When you’re bad the games take so much longer and start slower. So it’s litterally a more boring game until you get good.

Playing beyond all reason and playing 1v1s for the first time has forced me to drop my noob habits and actually play rts properly. Its intense having to manage your raiding units while expanding while protecting that expansion while scouting while keeping your base safe and growing. But it’s so rewarding when you win.

Now I see newer players and what they have to go through I understand why so many quit. They join a lobby called “all welcome” then get kicked because no one wants the noob on their team. They get flamed. People run circles around them in game and attack before they have a single unit out. Rts is hard to learn but so fun once you have the basics down and can actually start developing strategies and reacting to your opponents in real time. Idk even know what I’m trying to say here I just woke up.

Pornhub is only pulling out to punish the states for trying to stand up to them. In classic American monopoly fashion they go on the attack as soon as any legislation targets them.

Pornhub claims the reason is because they dont to collect government ID but Pornhub collects user data and understands who their customers are. Adding government ID to their data would hardly be anymore of a privacy invasion and it’s not like they are forced to store it.

Law maker enacts legislation towards a company. The company is able to comply but instead the company pulls the service or severelyndegrades it. Then when users are pissed off the company will point to the law maker and say “they forced us to do this”. The law maker then suffers the blacklash of companies service withdrawal.

Apple tried this with the EU usb c but eventually backed down. John deer tried this with right to repair. There are many cases where companies use these tactics to try and bully law makers away from regulating them and I think i know it’s legal and their right to do so but I find it gross.

I don’t think the law makers should be solving the “problem” this way but I also don’t think pornhub should deny service from an entire state because they want an an ID check implemented.

Game journalist are scum. They don’t play game they only attack people who play them. When game journalists are outraged about something it’s most likely because people are mad at a company and the journalists have to rush to the companies defense because they are paid.

Its getting very hard to have any sympathy towards the Palestinians. They continue to overvalue their position and act as if there is a better deal waiting around the corner if they hold out a bit longer. That “better deal” isn’t coming, only more destruction and less global attention as people get more and more bored of the war.

To aquire money to pass down to your kids so they can use it to gain a headscarf over other kids and your family can dominate the world the world.

Or to live a good life and make meaningful connections

Life is interesting. Even on the most mundane boring day I can entertain myself in my thoughts. I don’t really get extreme mood swings like when I was a teenager. No matter how sad I am it doesn’t feel like the world is over. It’s enjoyable to exist from the small things like sun shining on my skin to the milestones.

If my life ever changed and I was struggling with no chance of getting back on track I would consider changing my outlook.

Age of empires 3. The civilizations are packed full of unique units, cards and mechanics compared to previous games. The card deck mechanics and treasures speed up the early game and allow for a lot more flexibility and adaptivess. The game looks beautiful the 2005 version kind of runs like shit but the definitive version has made a lot of balance and performance improvements.

Anddddd shooting formations of infantry with cannons is fun as.

Yeah I hug my friends most times we see each other and fight them very rarely. Most of my friends and me do not want to be cuddled but there’s always that one friend who tries to be as gay as humanly possible and eventually you just accept that he’s going to invade your space and be gay. For my tier 1 friends social stigma does not exist. For tier 2 it exists but can be broken and for tier 3 every interaction exists firmly within the socially acceptable boundaries and I would be extremely uncomfortable if one of them hugged or hit me with some gayshit.

What is the point of nicotine patches?

I don’t get it. It’s kinda like you got to want to quit but at the same time yeah quitting is already hard for me. But I’m supposed to put it on me and somehow I get a form of nicotine without smoking. It’s like how am I supposed to get used to it. I will even take the patch off try to save it for later just so I can...

I didn’t actually delete the data but for a solid 1min I thought I had deleted an entire production db of data.

I made a delete then I hit refresh and nothing came. I refreshed again and no records panic started to set in and I refreshed again and still no records. I knew that changes replicated over to our quick backup every min so I picked up the phone and when the guy answered I said I need you to turn off the replication right now I think I just deleted the ministry of health.

After a bit of troubleshooting it turns out the data was fine and my delete worked as intended. The issue was in my client and we checked a few things then gave up. I went for a long lunch after that.

The biggest actual mistakes I’ve done were all caught by a really good manager i had and so I can’t even remember them because they never blew up.

Pointless death by a brainwashed youth. Mental health crisis among teens is already at a breaking point and now they’re getting 24/7 emotionally charged war footage and calls to action. You can protest without giving your life and it will be just as effective. Stunts like this sway no one.

Fizz ,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

I use brainwashed because they are a child not fully capable of understanding the gravity of their actions. I call it pointless because he’s in Canada and like the 3rd or 4th guy to do this and the headline won’t even last a week at this point.

Your example is a grown man fully capable of understanding his actions. He was part of the group and he was the first to self immolate in his movement.

What does the world think of India?

I am an Indian and I have noticed that Indians are way too proud of their country for some reason and at the same time lack any civic sense towards it, they are extremely loud and extremely proud. We feel like the world revolves around India and our culture is superior to that of others. Also, a considerable chunk of the...

Fizz ,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

I know India has a booming tech sector and produces tons of great engineers which is cool. I hate their scam call centers its disgusting.

I’ve never been but I’ve seen traveling vlogs and the news and it looks so unbelievably polluted and gross. With all the money and education I would expect basic infrastructure to be in every city. The country still has a lot of natural beauty and historical sites well preserved, big respect for that.

As for generalizations about the people. I see a lot of videos of indians mobbing and doing crazy acts. When they are abroad they tend to mostly interact with other indians and shut others out but generally follow the law and arent violent. Women’s rights are pretty awful. Sellers are too pushy.

In general my perception of Indians normally comes from the ones I’ve met who grew up in New Zealand and I have a good perception of them. When I have to exclude that and only think of India as a country my perception is very negative.

I’ve had laptops, consoles and a steam deck. Nothing comes close to sitting at a desk and gaming on my pc. I don’t know what it is I just like my desk. Even when I’m using the steamdeck I sit at my desk.

Fizz ,

I love making things and trying to figure out new ways to improve my experience. So I spent half a day making my lounge perfectly comfy, big 60inch 4k TV, pc hooked up, controller If I needed but also mouse and keyboard. and I played for 30mins before I realized it sucks compared to sitting at my desk.

Fizz ,

In person to people i dont know or dont hate I’m nice in my intent and my actions but I am sometimes mean in communication unintentionally and intentionally.

On the internet it’s different. Because on the internet I am often interacting with people I will never meet or never properly form a relationship with nor will they impact my relationships with other people I tend to assign less value to being nice. I don’t go out of my way to be nasty but I’ll be disrespectful and condescending if the conversation goes there. But I real life I would take a kill em with kindness strategy instead of rolling in the mud.

HP bricks ProBook laptops with bad BIOS delivered via automatic updates — many users face black screen after Windows pushes new firmware (www.tomshardware.com)

It’s more that investing in the place you work sucks because you know how shit of an investment it is. Most people would rather own shares in the s&p500 than their place of work.

Fizz ,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

It’s not a prerequisite. It’s just an option that’s available to anyone who wants to own part of a publicly traded company. If you want to own it in the traditional sense go be a tradie plenty of tradies run their own operations.

Fizz ,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

I think thats for the following reasons. Because the c manager understands the value of investment long term and they believe they can impact the company in a positive way. They also likely have more disposable income.

A factory line worker has very little control over the performance of the company. He wants his weekly pay to be in full cash and that’s it because he either has less disposable income or doesnt understand the value of investment.

If the line worker wants to invest he would likely invest in another company than his own unless his company was preforming exceptionally well.

Fizz ,
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

What does a democratic workplace look like? I’ve seen it work on a small scale but I can’t see how having people voting on the direction of the company has any value when their job is not relevant to making those decisions.

The democracy comes in the form of shareholders. If you want a say in the company you must purchase part of the company and then you get a vote.
