Yup, same experience. I started out hosting everything on a single box, but have slowly moved things like HA and Pi-hole to their own machines, so they don’t all go down when that one box goes down.

www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fallacy

a false or mistaken idea

You’re thinking specifically of logical fallacies.

Saving someone from choking is abuse?

I’ll believe medical professionals, you believe whatever you want to.

Somebody sure got real quiet all of a sudden, after talking a lot of shit…

Guess the PSA was actually for you, huh?

Why do I puke more than once when I've been drunk?

So I’ve been drinking and it becomes like I drink water and I puke right away. So it’s like what’s the point of puking if I can’t get rid of all the toxicant in one go. I end up just puking whatever I put in. I assume puking is good but yeah I don’t get the point if it can’t be just a one time thing.

null ,

Given your “it becomes like I drink water”, I think you have a serious problem.

They’re explaining that after getting that drunk, even drinking just water makes them puke. Not saying that they drink alcohol like it’s water.

It would only contribute to OpenStreetMaps, not Google of Apple Maps.

There’s also plenty of people that do use adblock today, and would just put up with ads if it stopped working.

So the actual number of people that would simply stop using YouTube altogether is lower than the number of people that use adblock today.

And from YouTube’s perspective, those people aren’t contributing revenue anyways, and all they get is a little bit of usage data. Easy trade.

After Windows Recall was announced, I’ve seen more people talking about switching to Linux than ever before.

I’ve been the Linux zealot in my friend group for years, and none of them have switched (they’ve dabbled on old laptops but never daily drove).

With Recall, a coworker I never would have expected reached out to me because he knows I’m a “Linux guy” and he was switching to Linux over it.

He’s still daily driving pop_OS a month later.

this information is based on a conversation with - A Canadian.

Hear that, folks? He talked to one, whole Canadian. That’s a wrap!

So basically the people claiming that vaccines are dangerous and part of a secret government scheme to control us were actually the victims of a secret government scheme to convince us that vaccines are dangerous.

Pride month is in February?

null ,

Right, but this incident occurred in February. Like it says in the article.

null ,

If only there were stone kind of article with that info…

Okay

Or that you want to be able to put it through insurance / benefits.

kids rooting for fucking hamas

Lol no

So it’s cool to mock peoples appearance as long as it’s a joke?

null ,

Always, always, always. This is a mathematical law.

Total bullshit. We use LLMs at work for tasks that would be nearly impossible and require obscene amounts of manpower to do by hand.

Yes we have to check the output, but its not even close to the amount of work to do it by hand. Like, by orders of magnitude.

I'm a hot commodity! (lemmy.world)

After someone mentioned me without tagging me on the Return2Ozma thread drama, I decided to Lemmy search my name to see what else I was missing out on. I didn’t realize I was so popular with the “People who defend tankies” demographic of Lemmy! Apparently, I’m a brainrotted liberal debate lord (simultanously, without any...

Look at all that seethe.

If your employer fires you for not pirating software on their behalf, you just stumbled into the easiest lawsuit of your life.

Better amplify him by writing and article about him and linking to his Twitter.

Wouldn’t want to just ignore him and let him fade into obscurity.

Huh? How am I able to daily drive it on multiple machines for audio production, gaming, and workstation use.

I must have accidentally installed Windows…

So why aren’t they brittle and weak?

null ,

You said “its the exception proving the rule”. So yes, you’re absolutely co-signing that claim.

null ,

It says so right here! Now if someone could kindly just point it out to me…

I have no use for a slide out keyboard, but I love that these PC handhelds are trying out weird shit to see what sticks.

Many of these things have continued under Biden.

At the hands of the SC, that was stacked by Trump.

null ,

I think you mean SafeSearch > off.

Yes, you would pretty much be guaranteed to get a helping of porn no matter what.

null ,

Well, well, well. If it isn’t the exact non-answer I was expecting to get from that question. (Albeit with more spelling mistakes)

null ,

I’m not from the US, smartypants.

So? You’re snarkily commenting on the actions of a US citizen.

The fact remains that there’s work to be done by the people and it will either happen under Biden or Trump.

One of those options is clearly more inhabitable than the other.

You being from another country and sowing political discord isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

null ,

You were asking me what I was about to do in th coming 4 years, probably concerning US politics.

Yeah, shame on me for assuming you were commenting on something that mattered to you. Egg on my face for not recognizing that you’re just cackling from the sidelines.

It’s not about inhability. It’s about a system that’s in constant peril of sliding into fascism isn’t worth defending.

Then you’re either saying there’s no way to fix that system (which is pointless and petulant). Or that there’s work to do beyond voting to make those fixes (which, see my previous comment)

I’m not trying to do that.

Then frankly, it’s not clear what you’re actually trying to do. Whatever it is, its coming off as pointless and annoying at best and deliberately divisive at worst.

null ,

Fancy, semantic way of getting right back to my point which was “this system bad > change to different system”.

Is that clearer for you?
