Turkey has had a uniquely independent geopolitical position that gives it immense negotiating power with both the West and the Global South. The Palestine issue has drawn a very clear line between the West and the rest. All this smoke and mirrors surrounding the rules-based international order, human rights protections, helping developing countries develop, ending racial discrimination… it’s all bullshit.

The only issue at the core of all of these problems is class conflict on a global scale. The overwhelmingly wealthy West seeks only to maintain the status quo, even when doing so puts them increasingly at odds with their own rules and their own systems.
