I know they did it before climate change was a big issue, but you’d still think someone would have said, “maybe we shouldn’t build a city in the middle of a desert?”
Of course, there’s also Phoenix, Salt Lake City, etc…
Multiple Southwestern cultures thrived and then died out due to climate change. But who’d ask a pesky Injun whether or not that was a good place to build a city?
Most of them were either nomadic and moved between habitable areas between seasons or lived near oasis and other water sources so not really the desert.
It was a railroad town at the start, so really just a “once we get through this desert we’ve made it to California.” And after that it was the Boulder Dam worker town, which is where all the casinos came from
I heard an NPR listening, CNN watching person tell me yesterday that the Heritage Foundation was conservative extremists and not to take them seriously.
Ah yes, we will use your deposited money to grow our wealth and give out credit, but that will cost you because we have to afford servers, IT admins AND a yacht for every shareholder. /s
It’s sad, you’d think the stranglehold the GOP have in the South would be enough to vote these chucklefucks out of office. As they do so much harm to those most vulnerable and hand all the gifts to those already well off.
The problem is that there are a lot of low-information voters who get what little information they do have from sources that have no problem lying to them, be it their friends and coworkers, family and clergy, on up to “news” outlets like FoxNews and NewsMax.
They simply don’t know that the money that could be helping them is being siphoned off by the wealthiest. As far as they know, the reason they’re not getting help is because the Biden administration is giving out money for the construction of non-gendered, litterbox restrooms for trans furries. No points off for being outlandish, either. Whatever keeps them from discovering that it’s the billionaire class sucking up the money, and not the Democrats, LGBT, immigrants, etc.
What a bunch of idiots. A group funded by their politicians that frequently provides them with “model” legislation now has a manifesto regarding how to overthrow democracy and we’re supposed to believe it’s no big deal.
Normal when you’re making it clear to voters. People are trying to see if Biden is cognizant enough right now because of his historically bad debate performance and now we find out that they’re sending questions to hosts beforehand and then bragging that it was unscripted.
Questions before hand doesn’t mean it’s scripted. It just means the “approved” questions are presented, more or less.
And again, this is entirely normal. You don’t go into an interview without having preparation, and that’s not a “script”.
No one- and I mean no one- important enough to be interviewed is going to not give a list of questions they want to answer; and questions they don’t want brought up.
(For example, Jon Stewart’s interviews. The interviewees go on there knowing they’re gonna get asked hard questions, that they’re prepared to answer, and then they get on with reconditioning their image.)
If you already know what questions you’re answering, then it is scripted. Lots of people don’t script their lives so they get a gold star whenever they take a test by paying off the instructor in advance, especially if they’re going to brag afterwards to say that it shows that they are still smart and mentally strong.
Providing the questions beforehand means you already have an answer planned. That is called a scripted response. It means you have “acceptable” questions and “acceptable” answers already planned. If your answers are unscripted, then you have no reason to provide the questions in advance. That is reality. People can live in a imagination-land where Joe Biden is winning in polls and is likely to beat Trump at this point. That is fine. I just prefer to stick with reality.
Providing the questions beforehand means you already have an answer planned.
Holy shit, politicians prepare answers for questions political campaigns feed interviewers? This has literally never, ever happened before in the entire history of politics and media.
Timewarp seems to be a pro fascist posing as a worried left wing who points out technicalities and uses weasel wording to try to get people to not vote, ignore them
Except the white house sent the questions they wanted asked, looking for the interviewers approval.
and again, that’s fairly standard practice. Either the interviewer sends a list of potential questions, or the interviewee sends the questions. It’s normal. I guarantee you every presidential candidate whose done interviews since the advent of radio has done this.
Doesn’t everyone who goes on a radio show give a set of questions? I mean, politicians are supposed to be able to answer more questions than celebrities, but it’s still SOP.
No it’s not SOP. Sometimes the guest will ask for a list of questions beforehand, or ask to talk about some topics and not others. Either way, to present an interview as a “journalistic” interview with the President without disclosing that you were provided the questions to ask him feels less like journalism and more like propaganda
It is propaganda. Democrats have an amazing ability to ruin their chances at winning by picking the worst possible candidates and making the dumbest possible decisions while gaslighting everyone about it.
The Heritage Foundation, having successfully destroyed the federal court system, has turned its dark eye on the rest of the federal bureaucracy.
Having that Heritage Foundation list of judges made it super easy for GOP Presidents to pick new, ideologically pure judges. Having the new list of ideologically pure administrators makes a far more effective revolution than tanks.
The memo has been received for GOP talking-points.
All Republicans know the Project 2025 attention is disastrous for them and they’re trying desperately to downplay and distance. JD Vance was on Meet the Press today and said identical bullshit.
Heritage Foundation can go fuck itself along with the GOP.
