i feel like it’s worse if you do remember it or don’t take it for granted; because those who never got experience it refuse to believe it ever happened. (and i’ve run into a few on lemmyverse in the last few days who are old enough to remember but still refuse to believe it).
biden et. al voted for doma which ended up with the person i built a life with being deported and also they also voted for non-dischargable student load debt; that combined with don’t-ask/don’t-tell; forced me to take on permanent-for-life debt.
seeing him touted as the most pro-lgbt or progressive president ever on social media (especially the lemmyverse) feels like a slap every time i see it and seeing him take these token actions only serves to reinforce it.

He committed suicide by eating an apple laced with cyanide because the US government chemically castrated gay men like him - forced them to take drugs so that they couldn’t “get it up” to prevent them from committing “deviant behavior”.
And that wasn’t outside the norm 100 years ago for governments to do.
Just a correction, it isn’t entirely certain whether he killed himself or not. The apple wasn’t tested for cyanide and the chances he just inhaled too much while working are considerable.
Well, not that it changes anything about the horrible treatment he received because of his orientation though.
Anyone who abuses a child should get life in prison, no question. Also anyone who does not vaccinate their children barring medical circumstances should have them removed by CPS. Those are my ironclad opinions.
The whole CPS system is seriously broken. Society fails these kids, who then often go on to a life of crime and abusing their own kids, and so it continues.
This reminds me of the early days of the Model S; a friend of mine was an early adopter and he himself was surprised if it went two weeks without having to bring it in for something or the other.
Oh, and the dashboards that would occasionally freeze while driving. Luckily, Tesla knew it was a piece of shit, so you could just press and hold two buttons to reboot it.
The button press is actually fairly common in most cars. In most German cars (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) it used to be Back+Volume Power… but in all those cases it’d only reboot the infotainment system. Things like the speedometer were a completely seperate, more stable system.
Why not Federal prison? NOTHING they did was legal and at least the mayor (sic) and city council knew full well they were subverting the Democratic principles of the US.
No fine, no probation. Prison for these manipulative shits

I’d say maybe lets force the owner class to stop though revolution and dismantling of our needless consumer culture so our children and theirs have at least a minimally habitable planet for humans and the other surface dwellers we don’t give shit one about to live on, but we’re not going to anyway. So burn baby burn I guess.
