Dealing with a heatwave in PA rn and I’ve been so sick from it. I’m very sensitive to heat. I’ve been doing all I can to cool off, but most days I just can’t regulate my body temperature naturally* . Almost passed out today when I was catching one of my ducks that escaped the pen. I’ve been getting my shirts wet and just wearing them like that and sleeping with ice packs in my bed. I have a chain of box fans that are my attempt to get the flow of air from the air conditioner around the house. My house holds heat in very well, but is hard AF to cool off and keep it cool.
I do the same with my ducks. I have to make sure their pool gets cleaned and filled in both the mornings and evenings on hot days and it’s killing me. My one duck is disabled and she has trouble cleaning herself all the way, so she gets sprayed off with the hose once a day. The birds are doing really well in the heat, which has been a relief. My dogs have been just as miserable as I have been. My cats seem fine.

Not everything can be or needs to be biodegradable.
We don’t need biodegradable houses. The wires we use in all of our electronics can’t be biodegradable.
But- we can find ways to recycle those materials.
So I would say that the thing to say is that biodegradable or recyclable everything is usually better. Even then, though, some things don’t fit those categories. There are all sorts of medical things that get implanted in human bodies (stents, for example) that can’t be biodegradable and also won’t be recycled unless we really change the way we think of our dead relatives.
In the interest of being terse, I was letting “unless you explicitly need it not to biodegrade” do a lot of the heavy lifting for those particular cases.

The history of Palestine is super messy. All sides have committed terrible acts to the other, coming back hundreds of years. Each side can always look at recent history and claim X has provoked Y or Y has caused a disaster on X.

Hamas started a conflict with an obviously more powerful military. They knew there would be consequences but they still chose violence over diplomacy. Obviously diplomacy in the middle east is terrible but I would never think that attacking civilians is a viable alternative to diplomacy.
I agree Hamas are idiots. But they cannot be blamed for the constant human rights violations of Israel. I don’t think many people here (IF ANY) think it was acceptable for them to attack civilians.
