With Irans ability to cut off the Persian Gulf I wonder when people would recognize what a national security nightmare our oil dependency is and start pushing for home grown energy. We should have started 30 years ago but nooo lets ship our wealth overseas
I think at this point Russia can basically do whatever it wants in international waters. NATO isn’t going to go to war with Russia unless it has to. Damaging or even sinking a cargo ship would be another escalation but I’m not sure what possible retaliatory measures remain. All the sanctions are already in place.
At this point Putin is acting like a spoiled kid, who is beating on his little sister for no reason, while mom and dad stand by and watch because they're scared of him.
There are still many economic sanctions that could be imposed and the existing ones can and should be tightened.
But the issue of threatened ships can be easily solved by assigning NATO escorts. AFAIK Turkiye declared their navy is going to do that (escort cargo ships on the Black sea) but I don’t know how it went
What economic sanctions are left? Genuine question. I don’t know. But I am under the impression anything that would have any effect is already being done. The west could completely economically cut off Russia, and Russia would just continue exporting to the rest of the world.
Depends on if NATO decides to start escorting ships in international waters and Russia goes full pants-on-head stupid and does something to an escort and that country decides to invoke article 5.
Damaging or even sinking a cargo ship would be another escalation but I’m not sure what possible retaliatory measures remain.
NATO countries escorting cargo ships. I’m not even talking about US, French, or UK ships. Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey are all NATO countries on the Black Sea. If Russia is interfering with their trade, then those countries Navy vessels can protect trade.
Graham is up to his ass in this. 20 years ago I thought he was a bigot, but one who had opinions worth listening to on national security and military affairs.
What a sad little wrinkled balloon he turned out to be. Hope his ass gets indicted too.
I think he’s Ace actually. He’s just never seemed like a sexual being at all, like he was carved out of fatback at a Daughters of the Confederacy hall.
Last year, a former Trump official testified under oath to the House January 6 select committee that plans to access voting systems in Georgia were discussed in meetings at the White House, including during an Oval Office meeting on December 18, 2020, that included Trump.
We don’t have all the information that they do, but if someone told Congress, under oath, that Trump was involved with this then that is compelling evidence. In case you are unaware, it is a crime to lie to Congress even when you are not under oath.
You’re right. There would have to be additional evidence for them to even bother indicting. And it seems that there most likely is. But what we do know now in and of itself is a substantial amount of evidence. Testimony that rises to the level of Congressional testimony with corroboration would absolutely be enough.
I think most people here are under the impression that I’m defending Trump or something. I’m not, and I personally think he should be in jail. What I’m saying is, given the political circumstances, there’s going to need to be something directly from him for this to really matter. Prosecutors and judges are being extremely careful to not look biased. But I hope my scepticism is proven wrong. I’m really still in the “I’ll believe Trump gets convicted when I see it happen” camp. This all still feels like a show to me. Again, I believe he deserves to be in jail, but I don’t think he ever will be. My personal theory is that all these trials are just an attempt to distract him and eat up valuable time and money that he needs to be able to campaign. He ain’t getting convicted though, unfortunately. We all know we have a two-tiered justice system in the US. Any average person would be in a dungeon already for what Trump has done.
Correct. He will get Republican Governor pardon for this one. Everyone acts like any of these felonies will have consequences. Dudes gonna skate, he needs one dumb red hat in that jury box. One.
My daughter’s middle school has a football team. Full contact tackle football, not flag football or whatever. 12-year-olds going down the road to CTE and Parkinson’s. It’s nuts. They don’t have a boxing team, nor would they.
If you’re an adult and you want to take the risks that come with playing football, go for it. That’s your choice.
“Them good ole boys” forgot to take a look around before beating on a guy and the tables got turned. They probably would have gotten a slap on the wrist, but instead they got a folding chair to the face.
The state cannot start being allowed to make determinations about what religious groups may and may not adopt children. Thats fundamentally on so many levels not fucking ok.
We can and should as long as it’s based on relevant behavior not religious affiliation. If you don’t believe in using proscribed antibiotics you should not be caring for kids, for example. I don’t care if it’s because your god told you they were evil or because you think your healing crystals are better.
the determination should be based on your ability to care for the child emotionally, physically and psychologically. if you can’t do all 3, then you’re unfit to be a parent.
There’s some genetic aspect but it doesn’t seem to run in families like a real genetic disease, so it’s probably a result of damage (physical trauma and/or toxins) and the genetic component is just a predisposition.
According to his biography, Ice-T was a pioneer in this type of robbery back in the late 80s. They used to hit mall designer stores, I remember seeing video of a couple of them on the news. These items are easy to sell, and some of the most lucrative things you can steal because of that.
