McCarthy seemingly followed the norm of letting the previous speaker keep their office if they wanted. McHenry is pissed at Democrats for helping 8 super crazy Republicans oust his friend as Speaker. Watching McHenry gavel out yesterday’s session it was obvious that he is very angry at what happened.

You can downvote my comment if you want. I won’t be offended. Authentic conversations are more interesting to me than Internet points. It’s easy to feel good when you’re upvoted a lot and easy to feel bad when you’re downvoted. It’s better to choose to not have an opinion on it either way.
It’s just the pig pile mentality. At first there were upvotes, then someone said they were sick of seeing that style joke, and I told him it’s fine to just downvote and move on. After that people took my advice. Upvotes and downvotes don’t mean anything so it really isn’t a big deal.

I don’t think she’s a “terrible person” she’s definitely not perfect; she’s done things I agree with and she’s done things I disagree with, sometimes vehemently disagree with. There are Democrats that I think are despicable (Bob Menendez for example) and Republicans that I didn’t share views with but I thought were completely honorable people (former senator Flake for example). I try not to see politics as a team competitive sport. I try to see it as an exercise in cooperative disagreement.
Well I wish you well in your crusade. I think you would be more successful by learning how to create coalitions and persuading people rather than berating them but who knows maybe it’ll work out for you. By the way, ignorance literally means “not knowing” and the best way to combat ignorance is through education. Somehow I think we both feel like we failed here today.

Pelosi had one of the “hideaway” offices. They’re intentionally kept secret so no name on the door, no open registry of who has what office. The location would need to be leaked by someone in the know.
Not to mention the removal/disabling of panic buttons not that long before the insurrection, the gallows, trying to move Pence to a 2nd location, etc… This shit was planned and they absolutely knew. Dems don’t have the same expansive network of propaganda machinery backing them up no matter what like Republicans do. Don’t get me wrong dems are still wholeheartedly a capitalist political party but they aren’t working the shaft and fondling the balls of the capitalist class nearly as much as the republican party is and it show in the ability to get messaging out.
