Having financial plans in place is very important, I know it’s hard but making a savings account will help a lot. Even if you just set it up so that $20 a week goes to it it will help.
Most Americans can’t afford a $500 emergency so your first goal will be getting to that point in a savings account. Your second goal will be getting to that point plus having funds in your account for you deductibles for your insurances (car, health, renters, etc). Then your out of pocket max for health.
It’s a slow roll building a savings account and it’s hard to leave it alone but it will help a lot.
Of course even then it’s still pretty nerve wracking so one thing that I’ve done is get a line of credit with my credit union and some credit cards with really high limits that I pay off every month and only use for like gas or groceries. That way they stay open and in the event of a financial emergency that surpasses my savings I’m not completely fucked. Which saved my ass 2 years ago when I had to have emergency dental surgery 3 times in one year. ($10k that I’m still paying off)
Basically trying not to over extend yourself financially will help immensely.
But a massive help is having a healthy social safety net.

I felt like credit card taught me to be a little irresponsible with cash (even though I payed for everything from debit straight away - I thought this two-step payment would better my score and limit for the future, lol), so I blocked it, but from that angle it really makes sense to have one in case of emergencies.
Paying for three dentals in a row can be only topped by the constant dental pain itself. If you budget didn’t crumble under that weight, with your situation, you are a tugboat called Unsinkable (or even Unthinkable?). Australia is a live example of the fact that they’re not. The state and federal governments have privatised a crap load of services and all they do is continue to hike our bills while providing less and less service. Electricity, water supply, employment services and more are now an absolute joke here.
Exactly what’s about to happen to employment services in Australia too. They spend more money chasing a hand full of people who don’t want to work than just continuing to pay them the pittance they exist on and have people apply to be the CEO of huge corporations who dropped out of high school in order to make their quotas. Government just announced an inquiry with the aim to reinstate control over it.
Yes, if not for when the Labor (sic) party got into power that one time, we’d all still be stuck on ADSL2 at best, and dialup at worst, depending on how close you live to a major-ish city. The NBN was a government infrastructure initiative. One which got gutted and watered down as soon as the Liberals got back in.
Oh, and I’ve heard industry insiders claim that the mixed technology stack employed in the “new NBN” – FTTP for some places that already got it, FTTN for everywhere else in the city, fixed wireless or satellite for rural areas – is more expensive on an ongoing basis due to complications than just rolling out more fibre would have been in the long run.
I’m not Linux and i have the same sentiment. Fuck nvidia. If rather give my money to some other company. I am using an nvidia gpu now, but it’s the 1050ti I got an age ago. I’ll run it into the ground before i upgrade and i won’t be getting an nvidia one when i do
AMD’s support for AI is just fine, you just have to choose a path - if you’re on Linux, use their CUDA translation software (ROCm), if you’re on Windows, use DirectML.
This is quite untrue, especially if you do actual research and not just run other people’s models. For example, ROCm is missing in many sparse autograd frameworks, e.g. pytorch_sparse, or having a viable alternative to Nvidias MinkowskiEngine. This is needed if you do any state-of-the-art convnets with attention-like sparsity.
