I mean, why would pokemon be on the side of team rocket or whatever other villainous (often apocalyptic) group the games have? They just follow whoever catches them no matter what.
Why wouldn’t they? Team Rocket/MagmAqua/Galactic/Plasma/Flare all have pokemon fighting with them. They listen to the trainer, not the moral obligation of the society.
Pokemon in all versions of Pokemon are literal slaves. They have no free will if they are in a Poke Bowl. And depending on the movie - that free will can be overwritten again by a Psychic Type Pokemon.
By Boss it should say Corporation, or Large Corporate Boss. Because many bosses at companies are earning same as you and got more responsibility dumped on them.
I’m lucky I guess our company owner leads by example and believes in open financial statements. We all see what the company makes, what the expenses and labour are, and how much profit has been generated
I own a small contracting company, I’m working twice as much as any of my guys and don’t really make much more than them for hours in/money out. I am in the field with them all for all 40 hours they are as well as weekends, plus all the admin stuff at night. They also make good money hourly as well as cash bonuses

I think it is more about rage control than about loving or hating oneself. Like stopping yourself from chucking the laptop halfway across the room when it doesn’t boot because you misspelled a variable in a config file.
Eh… I get the joke, but using Arch is about loving computing. All the other OSes have removed the human element of computing. Arch still lets you control and administer your computer, which is good fun for weirdos like me.
Of course you can. But in Arch you must do a lot of things that are optional in other distros, and you install your packages explicitly, only including what you want.

Why would anyone buy shares in a company that is not profitable, nor may never be profitable. Even they wrote that in the IPO. What would a buyer of shares be buying a share of?
Well, you get the shares “cheap” because it’s not profitable and hope that they turn profitable, e.g. by selling user data, or paywalling everything like Twitter. The mods make $0. For them, it’s probably more like: Why are the mods only paying us $0? How can we maximize that?
Maybe in 2022. 2023 had 25% of the VC deal volume that 2022 did and 2024 ain’t looking any better.
The age of cheap capital has finished. Unless you’re already healthy or can demonstrate a reasonable path to profitability, later-stage VC is actually really hard to find right now. Angel capital still abounds for people with good track record.
But it’s a tough environment for Reddit to do an IPO in and they probably know it. But they have no other option - they can’t continue into series H, J, Z. Those days are gone.

Would also solve a problem I’m not hearing anyone at all talk about - what happens when the Gitlab / Gittea / whatever instances projects are hosting run out of money and go dark? Those sources are lost forever.
Now we just need to get projects to start using it and federating their source code :)
I suspect the other comment about Gitlab may have more adoption because lots of projects including some very large ones are already using that platform.
