I work with two guys named “Brayden”. One of them is a ginger. Both of them are nasty assholes and pissed off all the time. I guess I would be too if I were cursed with that name.
But lots of people have gotten past unfortunate given names. “Rich” for example.
Turn from AMC is really excellent if you’re into revolutionary war spy rings! Excellent writing and acting.
I would also second Andor, fantastic show. Peaky Blinders is another good one, though try not to binge it, I think it’d be much better if watched less avidly.
Almost as many as there are in the colonial fleet in Battlestar Galactica. So does that mean we can expect that the colonial fleet had someone as prolific at shitposting as The_Picard_Maneuver? That’s encouraging to know if so
There was, back when I was active there. Around the time I migrated to Lemmy there was some drama and I believe that user was suspended. I don’t check it frequently enough anymore to know if there’s a current Picard maneuver surrogate.
Wait, I’m still confused. Is The_Picard_Maneuver impersonating a redditor, or was there a different user impersonating a Battlestar Galactica redditor?
I know for HP machines, the bios updater exe can be decompressed and you can just get the bios image and the signature file from that.
Idk what machine you have, but at least for an older aspire laptop my friend has, there is a bios download.
If you follow instructions to make bios recovery media, you can update your bios through that.
Edit: that Acer laptop you have doesn’t even show up on Acer’s support page. Supposedly it’s sold as an Acer aspire a something or other. If you search based on your snid, you should be able to get to a downloads page.
Also clevo seems to make this laptop, according to the Acer India webpage I found for it
I switched over to anydesk when TeamViewer started enshitifying itself, haven’t looked back it works great on all my devices, even my phone (as in I can control my PC from my phone I use it a ton)
Setup is super easy, just make sure to set up proper passwords for it, specially if you use public wifi
Maybe the Windows clients are paid now? But I use it currently for free on many Linux boxes. I haven’t logged into one of the Windows boxes like my mother’s office computer to fix something in a while.
I went to anydesk.com/en and got confused. I remeber (or maybe I just say so myself) years and years ago it stated obviously it’s free for personal use. Now it’s just generic site with links to download and not much info and obviously aimed at companies and their $$.
You can literally just download and use it, do you expect a free software not to have some sort of paid option in it’s site? All the paid stuff is for business use, if you’re just using it for yourself they don’t ask for payment info nor do they bother you to pay at any moment
It’s understandable they have paid version. It was always there. But the wording around was dayn and night different and that’s what confused me. I needed “teamviewer alternative” last month, went there confident I have a solution, but after a moment of looking at the new-to-me site I was honestly not sure whether I can use it or not. More reading didn’t really help in this regard, so I went with RustDesk instead. It did the job I needed and ia open source on top of it.
Reactions and side effects are dependent on the person. I’m healthy so I don’t typically take medications but this was my experience on Strattera, which you’re supposed to take with food. That warning was no joke. I had to take it with a meal, because I’d risk feeling queasy with only a snack. But at low doses, it was fine. Very manageable.
As my dose was increased, the nausea started becoming constant. I couldn’t do anything to relieve it. At one point I was at a restaurant and had to go throw up in the restroom. After that I decided to stop taking Strattera, because the nausea made for a miserable experience and was not worth it at all. I was instantly better once I stopped.
Hot take: Perfect Dark took everything that was great from GoldenEye, expanded on the formula, and is a much better game overall.
StarFox 64 is always gonna be an all-time favourite of mine. The gameplay is so simple yet very rewarding. Very arcade-like game loop, in a good way.
Diddy Kong Racing is one of the first games I discovered the… joys (?) of completionism as a kid.
I played Wave Race a ton with my father, he loved that game. Mario Golf as well.
Mario 64 is insanely good in retrospect, but I both didn’t understand much of English back then, and also sucked at the mechanics too much as a kid to really enjoy it. Similar situation with Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. I somehow managed to play through Donkey Kong 64 using walkthrough guides I printed out chapter by chapter. The multiplayer was nice although laggy as hell.
Spot on with Perfect Dark. It’s one fault imo is that it was trying to do almost too much for the 64. Even as an expansion pak game, the graphics that the 64 was capable of could just not render the necessary detail for a lot of stuff to be easy to see/recognize.
In other countries, malls are still alive and well. In Philippines, that is where people literally chill in a hot tropical climate because of 24/7 air conditioning!
Malls are also seen as a sign of progress and modernity for many developing countries, so there is some cultural expectations to building and maintaining malls.
In US, we way overbuilt malls. There’s just too many. While I’m not a fan (shopping is not a destination, and I want to get it done as quickly as possible), I’m not entirely convinced they’re dying here either. Some people do like shopping and some people like the community experience. 3/4 of malls need to die, but we’ll see if it settles on a more sustainable number, or if online shopping ate their face
In the US we’re having a bit of a crisis of “third places”. Where do people hang out as a community? Where do you go? So many newly built suburbs don’t have any approximation of town center or community places. Malls served that need for a few decades, but many are going away. Now we’re trying to replace malls with “shopping districts”, basically rebuilding town centers that too many suburbs never had…. Plus they seem to be just a mall with less roof
Like the idea of the comic, but the order of the panels is kinda meh. I think the chimney from the inside de house should be first, then Santa’s face with a reaction like this 😣, then inside again maybe leaving aa present like a larva leave an egg, then to Santa 🤤 and finish with the entire Santa’s image climbing on his ride.
