Love this! I am going to print this up, frame it, and put it in my kids’ rooms so they can have a daily reminder. Thanks OP!

PS. You shouldn’t take such long showers. It wastes water. 😉

There’s a well-studied phenomenon called “social diffusion”. People of higher socioeconomic status seek out novel, unique, or fashionable baby names and start using them. These names gradually get picked up by families of lower socioeconomic status. Eventually the names become mainstream, and then finally decline in popularity.

superkret ,

We could, but we don’t want to.

DrBob ,

Social diffusion is an explanation of how information spreads, not just names.

My understanding is that unique names and neologism have long been a feature of African-American culture where North American Caucasians followed a family naming tradition. I think what has happened is some celebrities have moved towards a unique name scheme. But it feels like a mainstreaming of AA culture more than anything.

The impetus has been there in Europe. Many nations have/had very restrictive rules about names. They’d only have rules against it if people were trying to do it. I had Swiss friends who were very excited that their daughter was born in Canada so they could name her “Sora” which wasn’t in the approved name list in Switzerland.

“Approved name list”? What the actual fuck?

Same in France, though they’ve loosened up a bit. Used to be saints names only.

I believe Iceland has this as well.

My current job is in an office/call center that used to be a Famous Barr at a mall. It’s funny, I worked in that mall as a teen/early 20’s. Now I’m back working at the fucking mall XD (tho now I’m provisioning telephone service and processing telecom orders, not sweeping up in a movie theater or trying to upsell people at a shop)

If your equipment is being squished, your surface may not have enough give.

I have to buy a good mat.

Alternatively, buy a lot of sugary drinks to make the otherside more squishy.

I think exercise selection is a pretty personal thing. There are going to be exercises you like that feel good and some that you don’t really get into. I’d say mix it up until you find a routine with exercises you enjoy or at least don’t mind that still hit the muscle groups that you want.

I don’t really know how to answer the rest of it. If you find exercises you enjoy and they are helping you towards whatever your goals are I’d say who cares what people think but that’s just me.

Thank You.

I basically do farming at the level of a second job, so I suppose it would be that even though I don't do it commercially (yet).

Leveling some more World of Warcraft characters. The pre-expansion patch launched, and I’ve read about lots of bugs, but since I basically just play up to level 25 in the remix mode (and then boost the characters to max) I don’t really notice anything about it. Only that low level characters appear to be weaker now, that’s it. The pre-expansion event starts this week, so I’ll check that out.

Then I finished Solasta: Crown of the Magister. The story stays kinda mediocre, and it felt like some characters suddenly lost 50 IQ near the end, otherwise some parts wouldn’t have worked. I still like turn-based combat, so I generally had a good time. The game has multiple campaigns, that were added in the DLC (plus a Dungeon Maker, to create your own campaign and share in on the Steam Workshop). The first DLC campaign is supposed to be a faster pace and shorter than the main one, even if both are level 1-12, so I started that one. I did install a mod that lets you add and change a bunch of things, although I mainly use it for some QoL stuff, plus some more spells (and maybe feats) from table-top DND, so even though I’m using the same characters, I can try out some different things.

A new Path of Exile league started so I’m playing that.

Well, either that or I’m now a professional pilgrim… gosh, I wish you could get paid for just walking a lot.
